COMMON SENSE MESSAGE!! Im sure everyone will use their common sense when embossing through an electric machine. You can press out some of the excess water beforehand, seeing as its going to be pressed anyway, and even lay some kitchen roll on your boards as it goes through the machine to soak up any excess. xx

A Little tip, I just made myself a embossingfolder 😊, I used two plastiek lace placemats and sandwiched in between the toiletpaper, it just worked goed even with the ink

Never thought to use toilet paper with embossing folders. Glad to see a different use for them. I will try this and perhaps use them for a card front.. thank you for this. Question, could you use a rolling pin for the first compression, then put thru machine. This way most of water would be pressed out? I'm gonna try it. Lol ty.

I have what might be a seriously dumb question, but what prevents the embossed design from flattening out again when wet paint is applied or it's spritzed with watered-down colors? Or when applying wet glue to the back of the embossed design and squishing it all down to a background? The results are really pretty and I want to give this a try, but how do you make sure that the embossed design stays permanent? I can see myself making something that I'm pleased with, and then having it all go pfllth during the process of glueing it to a background! In fact, maybe this is actually a "scientific" question, and not a dumb one after all. Ha.

Apologies for the lateness of the reply - its delicate paper so excess of anything after its dried will affect it, thats why I added the inks during the embossing process. it doesnt take a lot of glue to adhere it and a little pressure is ok but the glue will do its job. It will be like adding a dried flower. You can use a little glue in the water or even spray with a starch. Hope that helps :) xx

VERY COOL. LOVE 💕. What about using thick paper towels ? Like the select a size where you have a smaller sheet no cutting the big sheets down. Can you use a small brush to barely cover the butterfly or even the leaves with the color so it wouldn’t be so spread out beyond the area. Malabo what about just layering the paper, and then a spray so not so much water spreading the ink around.

@@irenegarcia7356 approx ....second hand £30 - £80, brand new £80 - £300 depending on the type you go for but yes you can use a rolling pin but you wont get the same amount of pressure but you can get by with it :) xx

Embossing/ die cutting machines vary greatly in price from aroud $100 - $200. Stampin' Up! has them reasonably priced. I picked up my Big Shot at a flea market for $40. I've also seen the Big Shot at Tueday Morning on occasion for $50. I bought my first Vagabond at Overstock.com several years ago. Shop around til you see one in your price range. Creative Blessings

You have to adjust the sandwich on your big shot because it gets too much pressure in there because of the thickness of your toilet paper tubes but when you you can when it's dry you can use it use your brothers and your dies and stuff and make it look like leather

I laughed when the stores ran out of toilet paper and wondered what kind of crafts would come on youtube from the hoarding. $32.00 for 12 pk $48 for 36 PK might as well make it pretty. For those prices they should already be pretty. Why toilet paper journal paper or scrap book paper? It's sad to use toilet paper instead of craft paper who knows when you'll need to hoard more toilet paper the elections aren't over. 🥴

Im Uk so no elections for us :) Toilet paper (or kitchen towels) rather than craft paper due to the effect of looking like hand made paper. Under normal circumstances toilet paper can be quite cheap and for those that were hoarding they have plenty to play with lol :) :) xx

During the lockdown in March/April, we were actually running short of TP. And we had to buy a really thin variety when it was available, not our usual thing. Recycled 2 layer. Of course, once the toilet paper craze was over, we were able to buy the regular stuff again. I will use up the rolls we still have of that ugh-paper for this - I'm sure the wetting and drying process will get rid of that ugh-typical smell of recycled newspaper, right? I'll just add some etheric oils.
