Another "handy companion" book I'd recommend is Jimmy Atkin's Fathers Know Best. Hes got the Church Fathers writings divided up by subject, Apostolic Succession Apostolic Tradition, Sacraments, Infant Baptism, etc. He even includes homosexuality, contraception and abortion.

It was reading the early fathers that was very influential in me converting to the Orthodox Church, because that is where their faith, the true faith resides. ☦️☦️☦️

No, we should only embrace the faith of Jesus & the Apostles found in the Holy bible! Paul warned "Do not go beyond what is written" ( 1 Cor : 4:6 RNEB) The apostles actually warned us against the future teachings and philosophies of men that would corrupt the true gospel! Clever, well educated, schooled in greek philosophy, they quickly rose to acceptance due to their learning and teachings! Paul said that "God chose, not the clever, not the wise, but the foolish things of the world" ( 1Cor 1)

Ummm, why would I not bow to the Holy Spirit? We pray with the saints. St. Augustine of hippo (354-430) defended prayers to the saints as "dulia" and not "latria" (as in an antecedent of "idolatry") at altars named for them. Certainly there were some even in the early centuries such as the Kollyridians who went too far and offered a Eucharist to the Virgin Mary. They were condemned by St. Epiphanius of Salamis, for example. Yet there is the "Sub Tuum," a prayer to Mary which dates from the 3rd or 4th century.

Well try a rehearsal of saying that to Jesus at the last judgement ….well the entire holy court wit the queen of heaven and earth Mary most holy will be in the glory of our lord Jesus Christ ….and satan will be laughing sarcastically at you and accusing you the words you said about the friends of god ….imagine that….as sola scripturaa guys you should be good in imagining the scenes right ?.
