"Mushroom time?" LOL. Great vid! When experiencing a low I like to think "what lesson/s can I learn here" "is there anything I can learn from this?" which helps.. but then when the "random" and "chaotic" lows hit it's very frustrating because I don't see any purpose besides having a contrast experience and letting time pass for things to make sense. Great message. What I got out of your ideas was- Rather than just thinking / dreaming of the future, to try to be as present as I can in the low & appreciate it as art. To appreciate life carving me and forcing me to grow in a new way. To even try to enjoy the shitty times in the now moment. To appreciate the very small little pleasures or beauty or love of life that life is giving me then. I think that's the best way to get through the low & even speed the low up. I like the higher vid upload volume lately :) Also the lows and suffering help give us empathy, and thus help us connect with others more.

Yes--the key not to stop dreaming/thinking about the future, but like you said, to not JUST dream of the future

Loved this one. They're getting even better. I've definitely been learning to embrace the highs and lows. The pain and pleasure. It's funny, because as soon as you truly embrace the pain you're experiencing in this moment, as soon as you love and accept it fully, it's transmuted into something beautiful that you can enjoy experiencing on a deeper level than mere pleasure - a deeper joy of knowing a part of yourself that was previously in the dark. Thanks Shogo. You inspire me brother. Keep 'em coming!

Agreed Nathan! Further, we don't have to avoid or ignore what we consider undesirable, or ugly, or painful--the lows may always be the lows--but once we start to REALLY LOOK at those things with open eyes, it enriches the meaning and depth of what we are able to conceive of as "beautiful" in its own right. Looking forward to more to come from you as well, Nathan!

Really admired your thoughts about constant flow... It's almost similar to what Bruce Lee said, "Having unnatural naturalness or natural unaturalness"; a constant cycle if you will... Even though we can be aware about the past/future, we should not dwell on it, which is absolutely true... It's so important to live and be in the moment. Well said my friend! By the way, I really enjoy your philosophy, simple yet insightful.

Thanks for sharing that quote, never heard it before. Appreciating to the constant cycle, the changing nature of things, is, to me, so important. As a martial artist, I'm sure you can understand that this goes for the mental as well as the physical disciplines :) Thanks for the insight

I like your long hair I want to get that too. Can you tell me how you maintain it?

I just let it grow for over a year and didn't cut it. It was pretty awkward until recently (as you can see in my earlier videos, I kept my hair pulled back with a headband). Right now all I do is put in some light leave-in hair conditioner and tie it back in a pony tail, which keeps it straight.
