I'm glad you mentioned you have different porosities in your hair. I always found it strange that having different curl patterns and textures were acknowledged but when it came to porosity it was high or low, no varying degrees.

Your hair is gorgeous!! I also LOVE Adwoa Beauty products as well. I have been natural with color since 2014 after years of relaxers. I honestly hated my hair texture because of the thick and coarseness. Being tender headed made combing my hair almost impossible!! I cried after my big chop and got braids. I wore them for a year, taking them down shampooing and conditioning them every 3 months. I watched a few KZbin videos and bought Uncle Funky’s daughter and my hair grew but I had more hair in my detangling comb!! Being miseducated on natural hair made me a product junkie with having a monthly subscription to curlbox. Then came Adwoa!! I saved up to purchase their products, but they sold out. Then Curlbox this year had a non-subscription box for Adwoa but again I missed out so now I am mad but curious so I purchase the travel size and fell in love!! I have finally found my staples. I look forward to wash days!! I am now subscribed to your channel and I will check out your website...working on my hair goals for 2020!! Sorry so long 😂

I'm writing it down this time, in my phone, in my journal, on my computer, just so I don't forget it! I'm so glad to have found you today! You came up in my suggestions because of this product. I hope you are well 💖💖💖 (I have had "all notifications" bell clicked for you, yet none would ever come up. I unclicked and re-clicked that bell again in the hopes that I do receive those notifications from this day forward).

When your routine for managing your hair is focused on moisture absorption, moisture retention and low manipulation you should be able to keep it in good condition and retain length. The wash and go is a low manipulation style. I would also consider it a protective style. I am happy to be an example to the natural hair community that you can retain length wearing a wash and go hair style that is well moisturized on day one, so you do not have to over manipulate your hair.

It seems like this product line makes your curls a lot more defined along with the waves. Nice. Very good tutorial. Do you prefer gels over cream stylers?
@EmbraceNaturalBeauty7 жыл бұрын
Yes my curls are poppin with the adwoa beauty products. I prefer to style my hair with a gel layered on top of a good moisturizer/leave in conditioner. The cream styler in this line has great hold and it recommended for use with braid outs, twist outs, rod sets and wash and gos on looser textures.

I wish I could wash my hair without it being in sections. I have soft hair, but it has lots of kinks, or bends and but tangles easy. The strands don't like to stay out of each other's way, they like to hug and dance with each other, even if I'm not doing anything, just styling another section. I can detangle before washing, but if I don't wash in sections, I'll have to detangle again afterwards. 😩

Hi Terri, I hope you have a better experience when you use the adwoa beauty products. They are all loaded with oils that provide great slip without being greasy.

Embrace Natural Beauty Once I have in my products in its fine, but in general wash and goes haven't been kind to me because of the way my hair likes to wind around itself. There really is no miracle product. My stylist even says that my strands like to dance. I used to believe it was the products or my technique, but after trying dozens of protects and techniques I've come to realize it just grows that way. Lol. Thank you for the video and all that you do. I turned around how I care for my low porosity higher density spots by watching your videos. The part in the back of my head just below the crown.

Is a wash in go year round a good way to retain length? Looking for a style that I can master on my own without going broke. I like wash n gos, but I want to know from a professional stylist who does natural hair. ( some stylist DON'T WORK WITH NATURAL HAIR, THEY JUST SAY THAT. ) I called 10 salons and they had no idea what a wash n go was, but they said they only do natural hair. I have a goal to retain length, can a wash n go be my everyday/ year round style and retain length with it? I enjoy your all your videos. Next time I'm in NYC I'm going to be in your salon.

@EmbraceNaturalBeauty7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Tina. I am so happy you remember that important step. Allow the moisturizer to penetrate your hair before applying the gel and do not add any more water. There is enough moisture with the leave in and gel to moisturize your low porosity hair. Adding water will only interfere with the absorption you need for good lasting results.

Should I condition my hair after wash or just deep condition after wash? My hair is also at the big chop stage, so should I still use a comb to detangle or just my fingers because my hair is so short
@EmbraceNaturalBeauty6 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the products you are using. Prior to using Adwoa Beauty I always used a dedicated rinse out conditioner that had good slip (lubrication) so I could detangle my hair before doing the deep conditioning step. Since Adwoa Beauty deep conditioner has good slip, I use it for detangling and do not need to use a separate conditioner.
@EmbraceNaturalBeauty6 жыл бұрын
When you hair short it is easy to detangle with just your fingers, but sometimes using the comb will help to remove more loose hairs that will prevent tangling and knotting.

@EmbraceNaturalBeauty7 жыл бұрын
Adwoa Beauty products are great! When it comes to comparing the two products you have to be the judge based on the experience you have on you own hair. For example, I was able to use these items for a complete wash day for 3 weeks in a row and experienced great results each time. When using other products I have had to use my staple cleansers, conditioners and deep conditioners to ensure great results. Give it a try and let me know what you determine works best for your hair.

I have a question is it normal to have frizzy hair as a natural.
@librasun7 жыл бұрын
Lyn Page frizzy hair can mean 2 things. Either your curls are not retaining moisture/ not sealing in moisture or you’re over manipulating your hair while styling.
@EmbraceNaturalBeauty7 жыл бұрын
Hi Lyn, I have frizzy hair and my focus is always moisture absorption and retention. Some hair is more challenging to achieve moisture absorption and retention. Low and High porosity hair do not absorb or retain moisture as easily as normal porosity hair. Frizzy hair is typical in many instances. Frizzy hair along the front hair line is typically high porosity. When it's frizzy in the crown it's typically low porosity. The high and low porosity areas of my hair and many others do not define as well as the normal porosity areas, even when styled with a good process, good technique and quality products. What I like about using the Adwoa Beauty products is how well my high and low porosity hair responded. My low porosity was well moisturized and stayed elongated and smooth. My high porosity hair stayed clumped together whereas is normally loosens up and becomes frizzy on day two of my wash and go. You can stay connected with my on coachingnaturalhair.com where I will continue the discussion on these topics and more.

I wish I would have been able to register for your hair growth study, cuz high porosity hair and tight curls are not easy to manage AT ALL! Sooo many naturals have a fairly manageable grade of curl.... For those of us with difficult curls, it is frustrating and makes a person not feel like their hair has any hope of definition, let alone for a WEEK or a DAY!! Your hair is long so someone with shorter hair CANNOT maintain a wash and go in that way! I need to see stages of someone with Knotty, kinky, nontameable edges to believe my hair strands have the capability of reaching maximum moisture!
