The american muscle has always been at Le Mans Look these cars up: The Corvettes untill they went for Flat plane sounded great. But the PAnoz LMP1 was just insane. You could feel it. And it was lovely because the V10 Judds were also running at that time, so you had a bit of both worlds.

I loved the Panoz LMP1, especially the Danish DBA team one in 2000. The C5R Corvettes with the Dodge Viper GTS-Rs were amazing too.

I wish people would just once get it right. It is NOT a Nascar, it is a stockcar that is the term cars that race in Nascar go buy. Nascar is the organization in which this type of racecar races in. National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing.

The Hendrick car was stereotypically American - fat and loud. BUT it was good. It could probably be BOP'd to make it eligible for the GTE category. PS Scott Mansell (Driver61) is an actual racing driver

This car is Le Mans history in the making. I read somewhere Red Bull tried to get Shane van Gisbergen a seat on the Garage 56 team for Le Mans however Garage 56 went with Jensen Button? Of course Shane got the drive with Project 91 for the Chicago NASCAR street race and the rest of that story is also history. SVG did race for Riley Motorsports team in 2022 at Le Mans in their Ferrari 488 in the LM GTE Pro class. Certainly hope he gets more Le Mans drives.

I was at Le Mans as usual, I really enjoyed this car even though it was essentially a pointless exercise in terms of competing. Good luck to them. You guys need to get to Sebring FLA in March to endurance racing first hand.

To be fair guys the reason it broke the stereotypes is because this car was so far removed from nascar it’s unreal. Literally nothing including the basis shape of the body of the car was even close to a nascar specification. Basically not a nascar. In fact closer to a trans am than anything.

@@NkosanaMakhubeleYou know we go to circuits too, right? We had 6 this year and I believe 6 next year. Of course it’s always going to be majority ovals because that’s where it started. There’s a lot more to oval racing than “just turn left” but I won’t get into all of it. It’s a completely different discipline which is why many people from overseas that come race NASCAR don’t make it far. I long for the day that all motorsports fans can respect one another’s championships as I watch NASCAR, IndyCar, F1, WEC, V8 Supercars and WRC. I just see so much bashing between communities.

@@NkosanaMakhubele Everyone has their own opinion, and I get that. But calling it not skillful is a bit harsh. As I said, many drivers in other series have come over to try it and many have failed. It’s a completely different discipline. Just because you don’t know the ins and outs doesn’t mean it doesn’t take skill to do. By your logic, to me, soccer/football is not skillful as well. It’s boring. All they do is run up and down the pitch and kick a ball. I can say the same thing for many other sports, but I know each one has its own skill set.

So basically they took a NASCAR changed it so that it only has a NASCAR silhouette and then have a new class invented without being constrained by the rules every other car on the grid has to conform to and then it can be sort of competitive right up to the point it destroys itself and then thanks to a bending of the rules again it get to finish. Don't get me wrong it's fun they could actually do this but it would have been impressive if they had built a car under the existing class rules that was competitive on the same terms as the rest of the field. It would actually be great to have American v8's mixing it with the Europeans but not as some kind of circus sideshow.

I LOVED the Garage 56 entry this year but the "Americuh fuck yeah" narrative around it is just bullshit. It was not in a race - it was there to time trial and be awesome - and it was fucking awesome. But it was not an AM GTE car so was not racing with them. Comparisons are meaningless.

Was hardly still a nascar after all the work done on it. Put same amount of power into the GTE cars and they would likely be faster. Something like 150hp more in the camaro than GTE, which is even more than the hypercars at 671hp

@theheadofthetable4246 well, first off, I never said that the nascar at le mans wasn't impressive, what I did say is that comparing a car with more bhp and similar weight to the gte cars which have less power and more downforce, isn't really a good comparison. The nascar had more power than the LMH cars do, put the same power in a gte car and race them again and see what the outcome is, if the nascar beats it then, fair play.

Boys great video but the one point, power levels don’t affect the racing. They all run the same power so there no difference in 700 or 500.
