maybe its a UK thing but honestly like 3 in 5 teachers are like gilbert here. in public schools at least. we had a teacher that would throw cans of pop at students who were talking in their class although i hear she was fired like a year after we left so maybe its better now but based on stuff i here from my niece its not.

The reason this show was so popular in the UK is because it mirrored what real teen life is like. You could dress it up and change it to be more of a drama for US audiences but it would.....(oh you did, and it was absolute shite) British do dramas so well - just don't change them

The big production companies have an agenda and what they show as “real” is what they want people to think is normal, which is the complete opposite of what reality is. Which is why most shows and movies suck now. This show is so relatable on many levels to most kids in the UK a and I’m sure to most kids in school around the world. Whilst I can’t personally relate to any of the characters, the way they talk, the swearing, pursuit of girls and general vibe of the school is hundred percent accurate. That’s why it’s so funny because it’s so real. Shame the woke weirdos have to ruin everything otherwise who knows what other great shows we could of had.

I accidentally flashed a girl I liked in high school - It was mortifying!!! I was 16!!! 😢 I was training for a swimming competition and I thought the changing rooms were empty and I was in a rush, so I didn't fully shut the door of the cubicle and her and her friends walked past and saw everything....Well everything considering it was a cold pool. The whole school knew within the hour! HELL

We had a few teachers very similar to Mr Gilbert at the school I was at in the 70s. We also had a few like Mr Kennedy one of whom is currently serving a ten year prison sentence for a series of indecent assaults on 12 to 14 year old boys.
