Hello Sandra. I am a 74 yr old retired nurse. My husband died 7 months ago and I'm reinventing myself. I have found love again and am in a new relationship, which I didn't expect. So the future looks very different. I'm happy to be older and wiser. Blessings dear lady...

At 58 I have raised two amazing children, now beautiful humans. I have been married almost 4 decades to my best friend and I have embraced this journey and my age and my grey hair crown. I have matured and grown and I am so proud of the woman I am. Sandra You help all of us realize how beautiful age is and how miraculous this journey and each chapter can be! I wish women especially, would stop worrying about their age, worrying about the wrinkle , the grey hair and just LIVE! We get one chance.🙌🏻🧡🍑

I'm only concerned about the use of my hand, broken wrist December 28th 2023, surgery was preformed February 22nd 2024. I pray everyday for healing 🙏 You are blessed to have a soulmate. My ex husband has mental illness and he succumbed me to almost being that way. 7yrs ago divorced. I'm 63, a great grandmother, yes, bc life in a household of addiction led 2 children to addiction, and me sadness. But listening to Sandra Hart ❤❤has brought me to a better understanding in my life. Live everyday like it's your last.

I’ve been depressed for months + my Phoebe is the reason I get up. I’m working hard to get out of this black hole. I pray + journal. At 59 + divorced, I’m lonely to the bone. I didn’t have any children cos husband was 13 years older + had a son He quickly got a vasectomy. But I will find joy in these freedom years after 35 years as a paralegal

Sandra, apparently the miniscule number of commenters asking why you adopted a puppy at this stage in your life have not given much thought to their own lives. They do not know the number of their own days...whether they will live a long and satisfied life or whether today is their final one on earth. My 70 year old friend lost her 26 year old granddaughter to cancer recently. It was a shock to the family! Thank you for your words of wisdom. God bless!

The most important thing when having pets is having a plan for if/when you may no longer be around. No matter what your age, have a plan in place for who will take care of your animals. Otherwise many end up in county animal shelters. I have a person and a back up in my will. My pets are my children❤

A new pup gives your life more purpose!!! My cousin and his wife are 73 and have a year old pup. My cousin was just diagnosed with cancer and that dog is the main reason he gets up every day. I'm so thankful they have him to enrich their lives. Freedom years indeed as I just retired at 62 and LOVE IT. No alarm clock and rushing to work and having to work doubles often. Never again. I'm grateful I lived long enough to take my social security as I have friends that didn't get to do that. Please share Moo Shu with us all so we can enjoy him with you! Love from DFW 🥰❤

Sandra, I love you ❤️I am 67 and retired from my job. I am so grateful for each day, because my husband passed away and only had one year retirement. In my job I was responsible for all the associates all the customers. I did enjoy my job, but realized one day rolled into another. When I had to take care of my husband (cancer) we both realized we were actually living one day at a time, never knowing when. It was after my husband’s passing I worked for two more years and decided to retire. My daughter who is my only child is in the military and deployed so it’s just me. I had to rediscover myself and it’s lots of fun ❤️

Being a caregiver for an adult with mental illness is a huge responsibility. I empathize with what you may have experienced. However, people with mental illness deserve care and compassion just as much as a person who has cancer or heart disease or any other conditions. I am a 72 year old single parent and my daughter has been diagnosed with a horrific incurable mental illness since she was in her teens. I have been there for her to all the countless emergency hospital visits and admissions. I have cried with her and cried for her by myself. My daughter’s pain and suffering is my pain and suffering. My reason for living is to protect my daughter and to advocate for her to keep her safe from this cruel world. People with mental illness deserve to be loved and cared for just as much as a person with any other illnesses. I sent my Blessings to all the families who have loved ones living with mental illnesses🙏

I agree with you, Sandra re: the word retire. I reject it! A lady was being interviewed on utube and she said this: "We all have an expiration date. Everything does. And I don't let that stop me." I love that! And it reminded me of you. She said her beloved cat died. And when she got a kitten, a friend said why would you do that and get your heart broken all over again. She said I'm willing to take the chance and think of all the love in between. So awesome! This is what you inspire us with every week. As always, thank you, Sandra, for the efforts of sharing and being such an inspiration🌟 BTW, I loved the sound effects coming from a very happy little guy, lol 🧡🌴🎶🌊🥰🎯

Retirement is stopping work but not Living. I’m 71, retired at 62 and don’t regret my decision to draw less social security and enjoy life. I frequently travel, sleep when I want, wake up when I want, do what I want and see people when I want to. I’m enjoying life to the fullest. Many friends Same age have so many health problems. I continue to learn. I’m currently in a year long online Bible study with a friend’s church in another state. I was in Private Pilots class but had to drop out due to family issues. I do plan to finish it with the next class. Age is a number, mindset is key to happiness. While I am not happy with the extra weight I accept it and live life to the fullest. I enjoy the videos… keep them coming. You’re so beautiful.

You bring so much calmness to my soul and inspiration to my heart ❤. 65 on my own just loving the freedom years and so glad to be free from turmoil and chaos of past traumas in my life. I just enjoy water aerobics and my first dog I got 3 years after 30 years of no dogs and not thinking I am a dog person but found out I am a mama bear over my sweet fur baby that I fell in love with. Got her at 8 weeks old. She has really saved me from so much grief of the loses I had in my family. So huggable . I have finally decided to volunteer at a hospital as part of recapturing and recreating a life I put on hold during my grieving period. What you said today and actually every day makes so much sense and helps me to understand and really appreciate these are truly my freedom years. Just to sit out in nature and feel the sun my face is a gift and I am grateful to still be here and move from my time of grief into the freedom of these beautiful years. ❤

Way to go today, Sandra! Too many people have bought into the idea that retirement means quitting their jobs and basically giving up and counting the days until they die. Thats the storyline they were taught to believe in. I'm with you. Every day brings new experiences and new things to learn about. Why do people live so much longer in the blue zones? They eat healthy diets, remain active and stay productive in whatever ways they can. Its never too late to learn something new and more importantly, to gain a new point of view. Its not what you have or don't have but what you do with the tools in your toolbox. Get rid of what doesn't serve you and grab some new tools to throw into the box!

I ,too, am a dogwalker for GDB. What joy it is being a small speck in the making of future Guidedogs gor the Blind. My heart bursts with joy when the dogs succeed. Also, those that do not make it are not forgotten. They are career changed for many other occupations. Great dogs 🐕 🦮 they are!. I need to make plan A, B, & C.= TO LIVE ACCORDING TO MY MEANS. Thank you and to those people who commented too. Hi Sandra. I watched you back when you were looking through your magic mirror. I will be 70 in October. I lovecwatching your videos. I'm glad you're doing well. About 7 years ago my husband of almost 34 years decided he didn't want to be married anymore. Turns out that he'd been talking & texting with his high school girlfriend. That didn't work out for him, but that's his problem now. I retired at the end of 2022 & have been adjusting to having all this free time! My daughters & grandkids live close so I'm enjoying seeing them a bit more. The hardest thing for me is not having the person around that I thought I'd travel with through my later years. I hope to take a vacation with each of my grandkids & daughters. I can't believe how far time seems to be going by! You take care & I'll keep watching. 🤗

Enjoy your days with family members and friends ❤️ you are so lucky to have that. My son throws the past in my face. I cried for 2yrs, but i don't cry anymore. I married very young, my sister calls it a shot gun wedding. My option was to stay with my babies grandmother, not my mom, to finish school and she'd help me raise him. But since i denied my moms wishes to abort, she has put me down all my life 😢 That's my only regret. I would have went to college. My inlaws were so positive and strong willed. I regret having an older sister. I can't describe how unhappy she makes me. Everything turns into an argument and blaming, and nothing is ever her fault. Life does all these terrible things to her and it's somehow always other people's fault. She's 74 and as my mother's funeral approaches she has got even worse. I would go back to 20 but without a sister breathing down my neck, always on my case. I would love to do that part of my life again in different circumstances.

Hello Sandra, next week I will be 82, I start organizing most of the stuff trough out the house. I have to be realistic that I don’t have much time. My husband is almost 90, and we had no children. I admire women like you, so positive and supportive, I really don’t know what to do in my last years. God bless,🙏♥️🌹🙏♥️🌹

Everyday no matter what age we are is a wonderful gift that we should cherish. I agree we are in a free stage of life and we need to learn to put ourself first I personally have sacrificed 55 years of my life if I don’t take time for me now time will run out. Thank you as always for a wonderful sharing of your wisdom and taking the time to talk to us about all these things. Bless your heart ❤️

What a role model and inspiration you are for us young uns (I’m 75)! I also have thought about the future for my 3 year old dog, but she keeps me moving forward and I’m hoping that I am here for her entire life. No one can predict the future. Enjoy every day!

Hello Sandra, thank you for your comforting messages in an increasingly alien society that surrounds me. The values and culture of my country are deteriorating. Bless you for being a beautiful, positive force in this world.

Love your message since I retired I really retired have no desire of doing anything It has been 7 years Sometimes I blame it on my health issues but I know the reason is inside of me I just have no interest and no I don’t think I am depressed .

Hi, really resonated with what you said. I retired 7 years ago too after losing my son and father then my daughter living 3 days drive away I can’t say I never get lonely sometimes. Yet, after a life with lots of trauma, I enjoy sitting outside here in Florida with my dog and so grateful not to work or having a crisis going on. I feel so many are pushed to be active all the time and travel. I just don’t want to. Thanks for speaking up and know you are not alone.❤

Hi Sandra, thank you for your inspirational talks. They help me a lot. I think you’re wonderful. I’m turning 69 in a month, and I’m struggling a bit trying to figure out what I want my life to look like next. If I’m fortunate enough to have a next. My husband and I just spent the last decade helping our elderly parents as they became sicker and passed on. And then last year my husband has struggled with his own health problems. I’m still working as an artist, which I’ve spent almost 40 years building into successful career. Although I don’t want to stop completely, I also don’t want to miss out on a slower pace life with less stress and work anxiety. I’ll take social security next year and with our savings I will be financially secure, but it still feels hard to walk away from a successful business even though I’m craving more time to watch the sunrises and sunsets. I realized today that it took me a long time to build up my business, and it will probably take many years to figure out what to do now. I see your life living near the beautiful beach and I think you’ve figured out how to have a beautiful last chapter. Any advice on easing out of a compulsive working life?

I am of the opinion that a human being with no regrets is a human being who hasn’t lived life to the fullest!!! There are absolutely no guarantees in this life!!! Don’t we all wish for the proverbial crystal ball; but then, that just wouldn’t be good either…I think we are better off not knowing what tomorrow holds-especially if it’s not going to be so good-who wants to live in even more angst than we already do?!?!? I earnestly believe that God wants us to rely on and trust in Him. 💝

Hi Sandra, as always you are so inspirational and give me so much hope! It really angers me that someone would actually say to you why are you adopting a puppy because you're an older woman! Ageism is terrible here in the US! It's not like that in other countries! It's really sad that people have that attitude!
