@@stillepost3195 I think the issue that some people have with the things he said in this vid aren't actually what he said (aiming for consistent top 4s is how you rank up), but rather trying to blame some past performances on greed when there have been plenty of straight up bad plays. I don't watch his Twitch streams so I don't know if the YT vids are abnormal, but I know this is the first YT Battleground vid in a while where I wasn't pulling my hair out a some of the misplays.

Completely not part of this video but thinking about the magnetic mechanic. something that Hearthstone could try to do is a "possession" or "haunt" mechanic where a minion is played and goes into another and gives it a deathrattle of "When this minion dies summon the minion possessing it"

That looks interesting, but really bad at first glance. You have to have a minion already in play, and the minion you play just goes into a deathrattle - so, basically, does nothing the turn you play it. And that first minion has to die for the second to do something. That's pretty terrible. Also weak to silence. There aren't many things in Hearthstone that give deathrattles - and that's for a reason.

@@nglazgow there really isnt to many silence things in play that is is inherently bad and with this is could make a battle cry into something after playing it instead of it either being a useless body or just something you'd run into a taunt or other minions. He didn't replace any of the cards for the rest of the game after that, he just traded 5+ rounds of double/triple scaling in exchange for a junkbot that only barely maintained its value.

"At some point you have to say 'Lightfang Enforcer, enough'" - that's a very conditional statement. If you get it early enough, you're likely able to construct a board of 1 of each tribe, Lightfang, and 2 slots for tribeless/battlecries to go through (bonus points if you can get Brann for the super buffing board). If you get it later - as you did - then yeah, you can't necessarily afford to get rid of a decently sized Psych-o-tron or anything like that just to maintain the buffing each turn.

I'd argue he still had time to commit to it, he would have had 5+ rounds with enforcer and brann, more than enough time to make up any difference the Cobalt or junkbot would have made. Also consider he was actively helping his opponent by putting more lightfang into the pool.

The Cobalt especially just wasn't worth playing at that stage of the game I don't think. He talked about how getting brann and lightfang wasn't as valuable that late, but the Cobalt felt almost useless in the last few rounds, and Mechs really can't scale into the late game without some kind of health buffing (which lightfang and brann help provide)

Every time an Argus appeared on the shop... blablabla happened and the Argus was dismissed, while looking for single unit buffs FFS!!! Your Hydra has taunt already!!!! Put the Hydra next to the Amalgam, buff them both before placing it to the left again and start looking for a battlecry to get poison on you know who... I gave up around 14:55 coz that Argus was again on the shop and still that lecture about how and what to buy... gems of wisdom

Playing safe in these new types of battle royal games is probably the slowest, but efficient way of ranking up. Securing a 3rd or 4th place game consistently will keep generating rating points, while playing risky can lead to losing points if it doesn't pay out and you place 5th or lower.

@@FreqstyleRedux yeah I've heard this logic but I was in top place yesterday, I didn't get lightfang or brann off my discovers so I just stayed at 4 and got tiny buffs and got outscaled by everyone. I came in 8th. There's risk to playing safe if that makes sense. I'll play some more though and see how it feels.

If it's a battle cry then it does nothing because it only triggers during tavern period (which means Battlecry destroy a minion is worse than selling a minion) If you put it on deathrattle it might make Rivendale broken but probably fair as neutral 2/2 or something like that (as long as there is no rivendale)

Up to the 14 minute mark, Trump's not been doing badly - much, much better than every other Battlegrounds video I've seen of him since it came. Which makes it so frustrating when he then claims that the reason his rating isn't higher is "because he's greedy and always goes for number 1" - no, that's not it. On some occasions he's made misplays cause of greed. On plenty of occasions he's just made straight up misplays. Perhaps because he's trying to juggle the game and Twitch chat at the same time or something, but it's definite that not all his misplays are just due to greed.
