Are you using 6 strands total aka separating the thread down to 3 strand and folding in half then tying a knot? Or are you using 6 strands folded in half to total 12?

It depends :) Diana uses both of the ways you describe. If the subtitles in the video say "6 strands", it means 3 strands folded in half, or 6 strands but not folded. You can thread the needle with 6 strands, but not to tie both ends, only make a knot on one end, and another end is loose. Then you can use it as 6 strands, not 12. For some elements Diana uses 12 strands, then it is mentioned in the video as "12 strands".

I’ve never really noticed, but are you ambidextrous? It looks like you are using one hand to push the needle through the back, and the other to pull through the front. It’s possible that it only looks that way because it is sped up though
