Have you done any videos on setting/wiring up a router/plasma cutter?

Router is basically the same as mill. Centroid is working on Plasma now with a high end THC designed to work with Powermax

Good info. Do you have a schematic of this setup?

i guess that c86 board saves a bit of wiring but I'm not sure i like it sticking up like that putting stress on the acorn headers, if your cabinet is bolted to the machine any vibrations with the weight of the board and 4 shielded Ethernet cables might cause the solder joints on the acorn headers to fail if you don't support the c86 board. i can only really see an advantage to it if your drives are located away from the main cabinet with the acorn as then you may be a little less susceptible to noise with the additional shielding vs traditional wiring.

Great learning videos! You sold me on Centroid! I have a question, i'm in the middle of a Supermax Anilam Crucader 2 drive retrofit. I bought the acorn and not sure about the drives. What is you view between the DMM and Clearpath? Any suggestions? Im looking at 750W motors. Thank you!

I have used DMM on builds. Clearpath SDSK are good motors. Either will work with Acorn. With DYN4 you could upgrade to Oak possibly if you felt the need. Sell your old parts on eBay if they are any good to help offset your costs

Great video, thanks! Is there a schematic for the e-stop, contactor, relay, vfd setup? Thanks

Just a quick note un related, for custom labled laser switch plates, check out Carolina laser, they're prices and options are great and their turnaround time is extremely good, sometimes 2-3 days. Interesting build. I just picked up a BP boss rigid head a guy gave up on.

Thanks Marty!!! Can you tell us the brand and model of the Estop Contactor that you are using in the upper right hand corner please? And where you are purchasing these?
@martyscncgarage52753 жыл бұрын
Eaton DILM series. I can't tell you the model number. That depends on the load and what could voltage, how many contacts you need etc.

Does the c86 convert the 24v power to 5volt for the drive logic?
@martyscncgarage527510 ай бұрын
The drive logic for step direction signals comes from Acorn, it's passed through C86. Some signals are monitored by C86. You still need an appropriate motor power supply
