Hi Emeka! The "chocolate" sticky thing you tried is called "Donkey Rolling in the dust" (驴打滚) Very funny huh? It is a traditional Beijing dessert made of glutinous rice, and the filling is actually sweet red bean paste, which is a common ingredient in many East Asian desserts. I'm not sure if you're familiar with mochi, their are very similar. The chocolate flavor they mentioned comes from the chocolate powder coating on the outside. Traditionally, it's coated in soybean powder and sugar, nowadays there are many more variations available, but the filling is always stick to red bean. Hope this helps you understand and enjoy this unique treat better hahaha

Unfortunately, most meats in China are pork since the majority like to eat pork, which makes it difficult for Muslims or people who don’t like to eat pork due to health reasons to enjoy meals. Even the chicken is not halal, and it is very hard to find halal foods in China. Only seafood and vegetables are more accessible.

It's so not true. There are a lot of muslim restaurants in cities in China. In beijing, I think you can find one or two muslim restaurants in any street. And there's even a big muslim neighborhood in beijing called "niu jie" where you can find plenty of delicious and traditional muslim food there.
