@malina12392 ай бұрын
She shouldn’t even need to ask for help !!! I would never ever have had to ask my daughter to help out . My daughter is younger than hers , but very helpful and kind and has always helped out without me asking except for a few hard months when she was badly bullied and struggled to “find herself” at about 13 years old when she started youth school ( as we call it) the 3 years of middle school before Highschool starts at 16. When my mom passed away 3 years ago, my daughter was like an extension of me.. she was just wonderful in the organizing and clear up after the funeral . I was busy with meetings with the priest and undertakers and writing the eulogy and calling everyone and inviting people to the funeral, as it was during covid.. , she just took over the practical side of things. From decorating to cleaning up. My daughter is expecting a baby in 7 weeks, she’ll be the best mom. Her goal is to be like me she says, but I know she’ll be an even better mom ❤ She’s really outstanding . I’m so proud that everyone who meet her says so , so I know it’s not just me😂 She’s the manager at a Lux cocktail bar in our city. She was promoted to that after just a few months. She’s so responsible and creative and has given the place new life 😊 The owner wants her to take over in a few years😊 I’m a very proud mama as you can tell!!

You are so kind but I have to defend the young ladies (and the gents, too)! They were voluntarily doing DIY, cleaning the rest of the house, and cooking for lots of people. They did help me strip beds, etc., but naturally thought it would be super-uncool of me to film that! Poor Simon had to help me build the bed and then drive to Paris to be at work the next morning! And yes, I was exhausted, but nothing that a night with friends and family, a glass of bubbly and a good night’s sleep didn’t sort out. 🥰🏰💖

My mother used to pickle walnuts - it was a bit complicated. You had to prick them with a fork (my job) then brine them for a week or two, Then dry them for a day or so till they turned black. Then pickle them in hot malt vinegar & sugar. Occasionally she put pickling spice into the malt vinegar.

Pickled Green Walnuts recipe Published: Jul 3, 2022 · Modified: Nov 17, 2022, by Chef Tripti What do you do with green walnuts? The young green English walnuts are used in France and Italy to make a thick, dark brown, espresso-like liqueur called Liqueur de Noix and Nocino, respectively. Both countries have a long history of adding green walnuts to macerate in wine or spirits to produce amazing liqueurs. And….they pickle them. Traditionally pickled walnuts are eaten with sharp cheddar, or with roasts and game. Harvest the fruit for pickled walnuts before the hard nutshell starts to form. . Late June, Early July is the time for this. Pickled green walnuts are sour/tangy, like Worcestershire sauce. It's England’s best-kept secret! Ingredients for pickled walnuts 10 Green Walnuts 2 teaspoons Coarse Sea salt 25 gms Castor sugar 250 ml Malt vinegar 300 ml Water 500- or 750-ml Jam jar or similar Malt vinegar (This pickled walnut recipe uses malt vinegar specifically for the earthy flavour it gives; however, you can replace it with cider vinegar.) you can add another layer of flavour by adding a choice of spices to the pickling liquor. Perhaps try black pepper or allspice and even ginger. Instructions Add the water and coarse sea salt to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once the salt has dissolved, please remove it from the heat and set it aside to cool. Wash green and with a fork, stab the walnuts all over Tightly pack the pricked walnuts into a sterilised jar. Pack tight enough so that the walnuts do not float in the brine. Pour the brine (salt water) into the jar to cover all walnuts completely. Secure the jar lid and store it in a cool, dark place for eight days. After eight days, drain the brine-soaked walnuts and place them on a tray. Put the walnuts outside in the sun all day. Turn them from time to time, so they darken evenly. After a day in the sun, the brine-soaked walnuts will have darkened in colour. In a saucepan, add the malt vinegar and castor sugar. Bring to a boil. Once the sugar has dissolved, set it aside to cool. Tightly pack the darkened walnuts into a sterilised jar and pour in this pickling liquor once it has cooled down. Seal the jar and place it in a cool, dark place for one month. Label the jar so that you know when the pickled walnuts are ready. If you have adequately sterilized the jars, the pickles should be good for up to a year. I research for you as you are busy busy! 💖 Enjoy Love your vlogs from Canada

PLEASE consider adding a washer/dryer machine in that upper bedroom. Since the bathroom is behind the armoire, you can easily add plumbing to the left hand corner (where mini-fridge is) and surely Simon can build a little cabinet around it or hide with pretty fabric. That way, you can have laundry going in basement and there, after houseful of guests and get bedding done in half the time. I also know you utilize outside line drying for towels and sheets, but weather doesn't always cooperate. Also, could the young people sleep in pool area? Use chaise loungers and/or inflatable mattresses. When you think all your DIY projects are done, would love to see a refresh for the laundry area. Nothing major, just a few shelves to reorganize and new paint??? You are soooo creative, I know you will make it YOU!!!
