Blame the fans and the general public. He was running away from Jabbari. He suffered cuts, she suffered cuts for defending himself eye witness confirms she was the aggressor, you see him running away. Also he got arrested because they saw her on the floor in his apartment, where he was no where near. But because of how it looked as if he WAS there and put her in that position that morning overnight. The guy stayed in a hotel on his own that night. He did everything right. NY law states you can get your phone back from someone else, he tries and eventually gets away from her, he books a hotel. Only bad thing he did was to cheat or sexting or whatever he he did on his phone.

I liked him as an actor before I saw him in Loki. I thought his acting in S1 or Loki was the worst part of that series. His acting was so over the top obvious and unnecessary, I was honestly shocked that he went in that direction and that the showrunners approved of that portrayal of the character. S2 was just the same gimmicky, shallow performance that made no sense and was just so obvious. It was like K. Spacey in the Usual Suspect, they broadcast exactly who the character was and gave them absolutely no depth

It wasn't so much the woman. I mean sure, she fought with him and he later called the police because she was drunk, passed out in his apartment. But it was the police who refused to listen and decided he was at fault. I've been there. And the AG of New York who wanted to make an example out of Majors, even dismissing the woman's later charges of assault against someone else so she could be at Majors' trial.

Bc he's Black. Add his fitness and he's automatically the villain, the assailant. She cost him.
@PendBestDeck1512 күн бұрын
@sersastark yeah but Johnny Depp got the same treatment. He's a white guy. Now I'm not dismissing it, I, a black man have been thru the same thing with my white partner of 11 yrs. Like 6 yrs ago. Police made up their own story of events and ran with it despite what we said. Even witnesses. Had classes, cost a several hundred dollars, and only when I almost completed it did we get the chance to go back to court and have her statement made and wanted it dropped. The gf tried to drop it early on, the law prevents it. The attorney general wanted to make an example of Majors, and fell short. The white girl just sued for defamation bc his defense team made her out to be crazy. But...we saw her chase him down and attack him. Plus she was currently fighting an assault charge for fighting another girl. If a woman commits assault, no one seems to care. Look up Skai Jackson (last month), Emma Roberts (never lost a movie or TV show, in fact she's only more popular), Amber Heard took large public outcry to and some still see her as a victim.

@augustineliyanda14653 күн бұрын
Writers for that MCU phase did more damage to the character Kang compared to all the court drama. He was introduced in the least consequential movie in Ant-man. Yet, they had three of the most strong and safe franchises in Black Panther, Thor and Doctor Strange for Kang to atleast make an appearance. After Avengers endgame, the writers became too overconfident in their abilities, they basically started dishing out lazy storylines. She-hulk was a clear indication of just how dumb they thought their audience had become. Unfortunately, Kang the character was an accidental victim of that phase. Loki showed us what Kang would look like if the character was well writen.

@traviscovington786721 сағат бұрын
I gotta say, I don't think Ant-Man 3 failing is the fault of Jonathan Majors, or the Kang character. It makes the same mistake Thor 4 did: trying to write a comedy around a very serious threat. I think the only way it would have worked is to start the movie just like it did, funny funny ha ha, then boom: Kang the Conqueror. And he trashes Ant-Man. He lives, but he loses. All his plans fail, and Kang escaped into the MCU. Choosing to let Ant-Man win undersells the threat Kang actually is. I think the charges have been refuted enough that it warrants readmission to the franchise. But they won't do it.

People are interested in Kang, but Marvel screwed up the character in Antman 3. It's fine if they wanted Antman to get out alive, but Kang should have gotten 100% of what he wanted. By the end it should have been obvious Kang was playing everyone like a fiddle. That would have properly set Kang up as a strong villain. Just like Thanos easily destroying Thor and the Hulk early in Avenger Infinity War.

I could see them bringing Majors back for an epic ass intro for Doomsday. Where we see a buncha Kangs laid out everywhere on the floor. Then Doom is standing in front of one, final Kang and jus ends him. (OR Doom could rip the final Kang's spine out. Like the comic panel wit Thanos.) So, it'll be like how Thanos was in Infinity War intro, to show how powerful his is.
@Ms.JeanJacket3 күн бұрын
Good. Marvel is doing him dirty, but at the same time, things are already now set in motion. Disney has their own dark history of racism and foul play, and Walt Disney himself was no saint. Jonathan might not be perfect but who the fck is? I definitely feel there’s some intentional foul play. It might not be a comfortable subject for some who don’t understand this, but for a black male to be under such scrutiny can and has ruined careers. Any mistakes he made, would be multiplied under legal lights. She could even know that this would happen. I’m glad that she wasn’t a victim abuse but Jonathan Majors deserves some recognition even if it’s uncomfortable to address as an audience to these movies. This highlights a huge issue in the entertainment industry, as well as how the appearance of situations are presented to the public. Everyone deserves no judgement, vindication and redemption if they’re sincere about it.

Easy fix. Follow thru with Doom wasting the council of Kangs. But note that he didn’t waste the version of Kang from Ant Man (or Victor Timely). Wait a bit and bring one of those back to create a three way battle between the Avengers, Doom and Kang prime.

Secret Wars would at a minimum feature a few past villains appearing in some way or form, most likely one of all being Ultron. Despite the MCU most likely not bringing back Kang, he still has the most reason out of any past villain to show up again.

They did him really dirty
@tzarroКүн бұрын
It's terrible for him...but from a corporate perspective, it's safer for them to just continue to move on without him (as Charlie intimated)...they've been repositioning without him for a long time now and focusing on safer bets, the last thing they need now is MORE rewrites...sad, but true. Business doesn't prioritize justice, it's not just a Marvel thing. It's not like Kang was a character that was ever really going to connect with a mass audience, and the timeline shenanigans grew really tiresome...once that became obvious there's zero impetus to bring him back as a central character. Personally, I was excited about the Council of Kangs and especially the main 3, but we're not going to get that now.
@samuelbrown33263 күн бұрын
marvel had a duty of care told at least do an internal investigation before recasting over something like this which it looks like they failed to do. If i was majors i would be filing a lawsuit asap.

Unfortunately, J. Majors doesn't have the protections "B. Allen" has, or we may have seen Kang in promos already (even if they bomb). Shame he couldn't be in 'Sinners' with MB Jordan in March 2025. Recast give JD Washington or someone else a crack at Kang to knock it out of the park again.
@R_Bruce61010 сағат бұрын
I’m glad that everyone can now see what I’ve been trying to tell people since the trial. This woman lied. Jonathan Majors was innocent and was stripped of all his work wrongfully. Moving forward, Imagine they made art imitate real life, stating Jonathan Majors a Kang Variant😮. Then they reenacted the trial with the council of Johnny Depp’s making Priya Chaudhry (JM’s lawyer) a variant She-Hulk and Dopinder (deadpool) the driver who said he did nothing and in this retelling he is freed. Very meta. But imagine that would be pretty awesome. Separately though, JM coming back could you imagine how ferocious his performance would be as Kang! His real life now reflects a very valid reason to go change timelines and in theory that is Kangs vision. Outside of the real life ramifications that would be an utterly brilliant concept.

Theory Time: There is a way this can work if Kang returns down the road. For the multiverse, it's all a form of perspective. Perhaps one of them is an update on Kang's multiverse backstory in the MCU with a Kang (Majors or not) attempting to find alternative versions of himself to reform the Council of Kangs due to Doom's massacre. Where each Kang variant could be forced to wear another face to blend into the multiverse and reclaim their territory. Through some form of quantum splicing identification device stolen from the TVA. To exact revenge on those who “banished” them for their actions in the multiverse and those who “slaughtered” the remains of their counterparts. Only for an Iron Lad variant to catch wind of this incident. Seeking to aid the Avengers or Young Avengers of a Rise of the Kang Council siege. The aftermath in the sacred timeline would then allow Iron Lad variants to become split in time. Forming alternative Victor Timely variants due to Loki and taking part of the past cycles in the multiverse. While certain Iron Lad variants have their own futures to move forward to and not backward. To re-establish or rewrite Kang's origins in the timeline with the He Who Remains variants Loki has met or possibly will meet, overlapping certain events as a form of multiverse retelling logic for Loki to solidify and make it “canon”. To fundamentally shift the narrative or events of the former cycle that has occurred before to a new form of narration perspectives in the multiverse. Closing Iron Lads journey as with the Kang variants to keep certain events in check for the multiverse's sake. Meanwhile somewhere in the multiverse, outside the events of the multiverse, is the original He Who Remains variant. Played by Major as a cameo, who is older now and in a realm not far from where Loki is. Where Loki appears before him. Checking up as Loki figured the original He Who Remains must have been watching the events playing out the entire time. As others have before them. Referring to the Watcher, live-action style, is seen in the distance spying on them. Where Loki then asks if they (as with the audiance) enjoyed the story so far as more stories may lie ahead. Ending the story and scenario. As one cycle ended and another began. It's all a form of perspective in the multiverse as nothing is what it appears. Cannon or not. Then again that is a fan theory and a form of What If Scenarios. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Marvel stood by him up until he was convicted, they then had to redo all their entire MCU plans, this isn't the same as swapping out James Gunn with one director then swamping him back in (we also had a pandemic during that time). They removed Kang's character from the MCU completely, I don't think it's as easy to turn this ship around now as some people think it is. If they had planned to carry on with Kang but with a new actor then sure it could happen but that's not what they decided to do.

Ant-Man and the Wasp failed because Kang lost. If they had Kang win then he would’ve been treated as an actual threat and people would have been hooked. But no, a man that talks to ants with the power of family and friendship beat a super powered man with unmatched technology like he was a child asking for candy. That’s why the movie failed. Marvel could’ve had their ultimate villain. They threw their story arc out the door themselves and to blame it on “the audience didn’t like him” is utter BS. They need to accept fault for writing an awful storyline
