Ok little more comment, if you paper towel rub the pot with oil before you cook the cleanup will be much easier. On the ribs. Add a couple of teaspoons of liquid smoke and a little vinegar ( not a lot) to the liquid before pressure cooking and it will help. Then when you air fry if you like more crusty ribs brush them with BBQ sauce first. Wow you do give a great demo and I was never bored. I just ordered this machine and can’t wait to try it. I can get rid of my air fryer, instant pot, and my amazing Japanese rice cooker and only have one machine instead. We live full time in an RV so space is premiums . Thanks again.

I have had this appliance for over a year and just now trying it out. I was so nervous. I used to have one very similar to it but it wasn’t an air fryer. I saw this one and really wanted it. Right after I put heard it one of my daughters gave me an air fryer for Christmas. 😂 I’ve used that one already a few times and love it. Anyway, so I gave my other pressure cooker to my youngest daughter sense she didn’t have one. I know how to use a pressure cooker but because it has been so long, I missed place my directions and it hat’s why I was nervous. Thank you for putting this video out. It was really helpful. I have the 8 qt. non-stick model & I love it! Tonight, I pressure cooked acorn squash, then used the air fryer lid to caramelize them. I didn't think to drain the cup of cooking liquid from pressure cooking before air frying. They did caramelize, but not till after the liquid evaporated. Should I have drained the water first, or does it make any difference?

That switch looks like it is a good way of sealing and releasing pressure. Much better than the flimsy valve that seems to be on every other model which seems to be hit and miss if sealed then use a spoon to release.

Have a question for the air fryer. some recipes call for turning food over half way through cooking process. Directions say take the lid off and cycle will continue after you replace it. In How to use manual it says never to take the lid of while it is in process. The only other way to stop it, is is to cancel but you lose all your settings and have to re set temp and time. Am I missing something here? Would appreciate any advice.

Pressure cookers are really a great product to have, even the older burner top styles. They are best for cooking things like a roast, ribs, porkloin, soups and stews, and especially dried beans. The cook time is greatly reduced, and the taste is unbelievable. I don't think I would care too much for the air frying part of this product, especially after seeing what it did to your burgers. With your ribs, if you had used bbq sauce instead of beef broth, you would have seen a major, major difference in taste. Try cooking a pot roast with the pressure cooker with potatoes and carrots and use Campbells cream of mushroom soup for the liquid at the bottom.

Best review I've seen, and I've watched a lot! Most were by cooks who didn't seem to be very experienced in traditional cooking. I believe you can't adequately judge how well a "convenience" product performs unless you're familiar with how to produce optimal outcomes, like your ribs. I really appreciated the thoroughness of set up from 51 warnings to opening the packaging to washing with soapy water, and wrap up discussion about cleaning. I would have appreciated a little discussion about the availability of optional accessories. I haven't made this purchase yet but ribs are a primary consideration in my decision. Two thing I envision doing differently are: 1. Make a smoke pack for the bottom of the cooker by mixing rice, sugar and tea in foil and doting it with a fork. (Ming Tsai sp?) 2. Stand the ribs around the edges then fill the center with the grisel down. If you try these tips, let be know how they work

Wow, thanks for your kind words...happy cooking and let me know how it goes for you.

I recently got my Emeril and love it but I do agree about the air-fryer lid being awkward to remove when hot. Yes, the Instant Pot one is much better but they're not available in the UK. The two lids thing? Hmm, don't they all come with two lids? The Ninja Foodie is huge and the attached, hinged lid means there is no way I can really use it on my British worktop - we don't all have huge kitchens. My bugbear is where to store all the extra stuff it came with as well as the extra lid, but it's worth it as this is a fantastic appliance. I was hoping to get rid of my Actifry but if I want fries/chips at the same time as I'm using the Emeril to cook something else I'm snookered, so it looks like it's staying otherwise the burgers, chicken, ribs, or whatever else I've cooked will be stone cold by the time the chips are done. So, not really an "all in one" solution (but not disappointed as the Actifry does brilliant chips). Also, the wire basket is not great. Anything breaded like scampi or popcorn shrimp tends to stick - why didn't they supply a non-stick air-fryer basket like the Instant Pot one? But overall, despite these little teething niggles, I'm over the moon with it. I cooked the best ever pulled pork I've ever made in a fraction of the time it usually takes.
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
I understand the functions of the 2 lids, I just wish they could make it all work with 1...the 2nd one is cumbersome to store. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
@Mmtm19944 жыл бұрын
I believe it's harder to remove because Emeril's and one other version (Crock Pot?) have magnets on one side of the lid to ensure a tight fit. Reviews on some that don't have magnets have problems staying closed while cooking. Hopes this explains why it was designed this way.

Good vidieos! One honest question: Do you get burnt plastic smell when you use the Airfryer mode? Especially from that silver portion (squarish shape) on top of the airfryer lid. Jeff, great review! I am already hooked on pressure cookers and air fryers and have both, but wanted to consolidate to one machine. I got the Emeril one and it does that great, but I was waiting for you to get to the double lids, I am stuck with figuring out where to store the extra lid ( I use both features a lot). The other con is the air fryer lid is very awkward to take off especially when hot, why couldn't they install a handle so it can be manipulated with one hand rather than two hands, besides where to put it down without burning something. The day I burn myself , is the day I throw that lid out the window, but other than that design flaw I love it. On a side note for Sous Vide, its a great cooking technique, but the Emeril machine will fail, a real Sous Vide device swirls the water around to keep precise temperature.

This is a fun appliance to cook with. I mentioned the difficulty storing 2 lids at the 18:28 minute mark. It is very frustrating having to put the lid in a separate place. I don't know much about cooking. After looking at this. (only because of my knoledge of my cooking. ) I'm still confused. I love good food but I'm also in patient. I also hate cleaning. It seems like from your video the niji is faster and easier to clean, but you have the steel merteral in the emeral so you might get more flavor. I guess it boils down to how much more flavor do you get with the emeral? and how much faster does the niji cook. and truthfully how hard is it to clean the Emeral. If the differences are extreemly small in flavor I'd go with the niji. But if there is a huge difference in the flavor I'd go with the emeral. Your video was great thank you for being very informative

not totally sold on these contraptions. I like oven baking for almost everything and frying stove top for frying bacon, burgers, etc. Lots less trouble, cleaning, etc. I bought this at Walmart when I felt I "owed " it to myself to have the new contraption everyone else has and I was disappointed. Wish I had taken it back. Uses up too much storage space.

Mine didn't come with those either. Just a one level rack and the pot. You have to order them separately. Or contact them if you already paid for them.

It was a tough choice between Crock Pot and this pressure cooker as in Crock Pot, it says "soups"
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
This is a pressure cooker that also has an air fryer lid - so you can crisp the food you cook.

I have the 8qt..and I'm intimated by it. Going to give it away. I would rather cook things the traditional way. I'm old school I guess. I love using my crock pot, more control over it, not a whole lot to think about using a crock pot either. It looks easy, but it's not for me afterall. Thanks for the good instructions.

I'll be honest, I use it frequently and I am still intimidated by it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi, I came to watch your video so I could get more comfortable using my 6qt, but once you started doing your ribs, you didn't move the camera down so we could see what you were doing with the dial, etc. Please consider doing this in future videos, thank you.
@Research0digo2 жыл бұрын
3qt pot? I didn't see you check & wash the gasket. Online you can buy extras, they are for Instant Pots, not canners. :) My extra gaskets are red white and blue. This way your blueberry muffins won't smell like catfish or onions. :)

I have a 10 quart Power Quick Pot. It's identical to Emeril's just without his name on it. I've had mine for over a year now. I use it all the time. Now only to find a crisper lid to fit this monster. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Jeffreviews4u4 жыл бұрын
Does yours have the ports to receive the crisper lid? I bet a lot of these come out of the same factory and just slap a name on it. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

@@Jeffreviews4u no, mine doesn't have ports. When this one quits working then I will get a 8qt Power Quick Pot for sure. The lid I looked up fits a 6 at also as long as it's stainless steel. I enjoyed your video on this product.

That painting of the barn behind you, what is in that barn? You know how many barns have collectible cars like the Mustang Mach 1, just covered in dust and flash rusting?! Also be sure to go up into the loft and see if any previous owners left behind any boxes. I’m looking for Action Conics #1. I just got this same air fryer as a gift. Thank you for the tutorial! My name is Jeff as well. Please do not ever use the word “smell” when it comes to the aromas of food. The word “smell” denotes sewage, unfavorable, a stench. Fragrance for flowers, perfumes/perfumes Aroma for foods, bakeries Scent for a light aroma. I’m anal
