If the algorithm knows what's good for humanity, it would be putting these videos in front of every person with a youtube account. keep up the good work!

some time ago (don't ask) I worked for a relatively small company (maybe 120 employees, I never counted) ... and in one of our (ugh) yearly sales meetings, we had a guest speaker from Digital Equipment Corp (DEC ... look it up). She had a nice talk, and in the Q&A afterwards, someone asked "what's it like working for such a huge company?" I'll never forget her answer, she said (paraphrasing, it's been a while ago) "Imagine you're flying across the Atlantic, and you look below and see a gleaming, majestic cruise-liner plowing through the ocean waves. For some reason, the pilot drops to a lower altitude to get a closer look. And what you see, are hundreds, thousands, of small rowboats, each rowing as hard as they can ... in their own direction, bumping, swearing, turning, splashing ... but somehow, from a high enough altitude ... they all "appear" (bold, italics, underlined) ... "appear" to be going in the same direction. This is how a big company is run." rofl I still laugh to this day.

This explains the journey. But when the ship reaches its destination its path ceases to zig, zag or even progress. People who think they've figured things out think they've reached their destination. And the path of other peoples ship becomes irrelevant to them at best, or frustratingly agonizing at worst

Es curioso como cuando a críticas a la religión respecta, los estadounidenses o angloparlantes tienden a no decir nada del protestantismo. En cambio, sí suelen dirigirse con atención a la religión católica…

I think the difficulty here is the genuine action bit where, especially in the age of influencers and the like, authenticity is a commodity to be be traded. And to be fair, most are fairly gullible or susceptible to psychological manipulation. Hard to know where you are going when you don't even know which way the wind is blowing.

The fault always lies with the deceiver. To call someone susceptible to psychological manipulation is to blame the victim
