I've been going with more of a DotM-style 'jetpack' for the extra trailer pieces than a giant gun. It pegs into his back port and just needs some kinda 3d printed thrusters.

I love the kit, but Primus I wish they gave us completely new shins that allow Breakdown and Wildrider to be positioned on the front. It will make Menasor look so much better

The reason the trailer doesnt close completely isn't the sword but the new hands. They used the same offset for the hole pegs on each hand but they are different offsets. That's why the instructions have you turn the one hand palm facing in, its supposed to peg into the trailer just like the other one. But since you have to turn it The back of that hand pushes against the top trailer section. Looks like a molding mistake they caught to late so they flipped the hand rather than fix the mistake

Yay, finally! I hope to get mine pretty soon. Oh, and, if you can afford it, then you honestly should get all the repro labels for all of the figures for the set. I've got pretty much all of them myself and it totally makes a huge difference even for Deadend. Be careful as some of the labels can be tricky to apply like the window frames for Wildrider or ANY of the stickers that go around multiple corners, though. I also got 3d printed 'feet' through TFsafari for Deadend which I used Blutack to stick on. They look a tiny bit weird in vehicle mode but look way better in robot mode. Never thought I'd get a stunticons Menasor as a kid because he looked so boxy but, hey, now I'm glad for the whole set and the extra stuff, too. Wished that this DNA kit came with a proper gun, though.

You don't have to shave the thing for the sword, install a small magnet on both the sword and the thing piece to help secure it in place.

I might have to pick this up since I was able to collect all the pieces for Menasor. My first combiner I've managed to fully collect aside from a Go-Bots one I had when I was little. I have G1 Motor Master but none of the other Stunticons. I'll probably just keep his existing chest (I like the purple) and not bother to store the sword when he's in truck mode, but otherwise a good kit. I mostly want the sword and the hands. I think the base combiner is actually really good for what it is. I do appreciate the attempt to make the 'tower' bit a big cannon. They did what they could.

I love the idea of this kit, and I am thinking of getting one, but there are a few qualms I have with it. I do not like that toy accurate chest. I really wish they had given us the Toy rifle instead of trying to make that extra part of the trailer into something. An updated modern take on the toy rifle would have been sweet, especially if they could have somehow worked a smaller sized blaster into it for Motor Master. That way he could use the original sword and scale appropriate gun too. Just leave the double barrel gun thingy for Base Mode

I like the DNA kits for the Siege Leader Optimus & Kingdom Ultra Magnus and the Power of the Primes Optimus Primal, but this kit looks like it's more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for saving me $60.

My kit will be here next week. I'll probably only use the hands and the sword. After comparing the figure with my udgraded Combiner Wars Superion they're currently the same size. It's just me, but I don't like the idea of a bunch or cars being larger than a set of combined jets (mass shifting shenanigans aside…lol).

I received my upgrade kit just yesterday, and I screwed up with the left thigh and the right hand… It had to do with the screws, and I have no clue what happened; everything got STUCK. The screw in the left thigh was the worse of the two, as it got absolutely damaged.

I grabbed it. Was 100% worth it for me. I've seen many extra height upgrades but this one is the only one to fix the feet to match. Makes him look that much better in combine mode.

I'm debating whether or not to pull the trigger on this set. I do wish they'd added in a G1-styled rifle for Motormaster scaled to him. It could've been something to be worked into the "use-the-leftover-trailer-kibble-to-make-that-giant-gun" bit. The chest piece is kind of useless unless you absolutely prefer the "roller car chest" look of the G1 toy over the cartoon model, since the new chest piece can't be incorporated into the trailer, and doesn't even have an actual roller car. The rest looks good, and a longer trailer mode would be nice (though I have storage cases for weapons and accessories, so I'd just stick the sword in my Decepticon case when not in use).

So, I pulled the trigger, and got the kit, so here are my thoughts: > The thigh pieces just make him look better proportioned, and they also hold the knee pegs much better than the original! > The larger feet also makes him look more proportionally "correct" to me. > The waist piece is fine. I like that the flaps are double-hinged, but there is a trade-off with the bottom diagonal grooves getting broken up. > The chest piece does look good, but much like the waist piece it comes down to personal choice. Unlike the waist piece, though, it's easier to switch (since you kind of have to for transformation). > The hands are nice. I'm not picky about my mainline figures having static fists, but it is a nice touch (and necessary to use the new sword). > The sword... kind of wants to fall apart when I try to handle it. The modular design for storage is a nice idea, but... I'm not beholden to having to have total weapons storage. I may consider just gluing the pieces together. > The pieces to turn the leftover trailer kibble into the BFG... it doesn't really work that well for me. They may have figured using two hands to prop it up would be enough, but if you want him dual-wielding, the one post just isn't enough. They could've included another piece to stick in between there and extend down to form a proper handle for his hand, which in tandem with the existing post piece would provide a stronger grip. Also, that little wedge piece is the one I have the biggest fit issue with - it really wants to pop off. All in all, it's a nice kit, but I think maybe DNA Design should revisit Menasor with a supplemental kit. Maybe include a more G1-styled rifle for Menasor that fits the new hands, maybe include a smaller one for Motormaster... and they could maybe do a head conversion kit (like with their Galvatron kits) so he can have different expressions besides his default neutral face (Menasor should definitely have an angry, roaring face!).

so no fix for the constantly splaying trailer wheels? guess im still stuck with a rubber band there cause the groove by the wheels wont hold the wierd part. P.S. if you loose the short screws the ecto-1 build I P screws are the same size. lost a screw so had to use one of my many spares.

I would have preferred if they had taken all that extra plastic for those random pieces and instead just included a better gun to use instead of the dumb shit one that Motormaster comes with. Like they did with the gun for Scorponok. That would have made this set pretty much perfect. 😁👍

What screwdriver do you use? I am finding that as I'm disassembling and reassembling more and more toys (including DNA kits), my screwdrivers seem to strip the screws. I swear they are too "pointy" or something.

Not gonna get the kit cause I don't have the figure, but how sturdy are the additions and new parts? I know some of these kits are 3d printed plastic and some appear to be molded plastic. And Since I don't have a 3d printer no idea how sturdy they are, no idea on how sturdy they are.

DNA Design only uses injection moulding, there's no 3D printed parts. I have some of their other upgrade kits and there's basically no difference between it and the official stuff in terms of quality, and the colours are always spot-on too unlike most 3D printed stuff.
