Thank you Emily, I made these today, I did make some slight adjustments. One I did not add the zest in the dough not because I did not want to but because my three month old was screaming his head off so I forgot. Second I added one extra egg yolk. I did all spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg did not have cardamom. Third I added half cup chopped dates and the half cup raisins. And I just added some orange juice to the icing sugar for the cross, husband not a fan of cream cheese. It came out perfect, moist, soft and fluffy, with just the right sweetness and spice. This will be an all year round thing for me. Thank you for sharing.

I like your hot cross buns I am going to try this now today PS I was hope full I didn’t see the cross on the bun so I didn’t think I had to do that but you did your different from the flour pastry I saw people use I rather to use your style of the cross with the cream cheese I will up date you on my progress. Wrong on so many levels.Never put salt on yeast lıke you dıd.The cross ıs flour and water and goes on the bun before ıt goes ın the oven.A lıttle tıp, ıf ıt aınt broke dont try and fıx ıt.
