I really dislike when Depp supporters are referred to as "fans", its got a connotation that we blindly believe JD because we idolise him. I have never been a quote unquote fan of JD, even so, dont use the term fan to discredit JD supporter's genuine support of a man who finally had a voice and stood up for the truth.

She claimed he abused her from the start, but then bought him a knife. She got a TRO for this alleged abuse, but then asked to meet him in person. She claimed all these horrific, sexual and physical assaults, but she does not have 1 medical document seeking treatment. She had all the money and resources to get checked, but chose not to. She literally said that she did not need to get checked. Um, if someone assaulted you with a broken, glass, bottle, how is your v intact? Anyone with a v knows this is ridiculous. What are you, supernatural? She claimed that she had all these bruises and bumps, yet days later there is 0 inflammation. Anyone who has played sports and had a basic contact injury knows that even the smallest bump takes a good 2 weeks before the inflammation is completely gone. Your skin does not regenerate in 24h by simply putting ice. She also claimed she wanted to be left alone and move on, yet does a full interview restating all her bs. What a shit show. Ps. You rock Emily!

Hey, I agree with a lot of what you wrote (basically the whole second half), I just wanted to share that IPV/DV is extremely complicated and people react to it very differently. I do not believe AH was being abused by JD, I also know that many people who are in abusive relationships meet up with that person to try and desperately de-escalate things. And not that many people report, and if they do, they almost never report everything. IPV/DV is constant, so for your own survival you end up blocking a lot of incidents out and pretending like they just didn’t happen. And many people feel they don’t “need to” report or get checked out because it wouldn’t change anything, and in fact might make things worse. As for the knife, I don’t understand that part, and in general did not find her a credible narrator, especially with all the evidence to the contrary. I just want to make sure that we don’t lump all that behaviour into the “not a real victim” bucket unfairly!! :)

@@ursamellis264 The problem I have with not getting checked out is that, if Amber really had been attacked by Johnny as she claimed, she would surely have been so seriously injured that she would have needed urgent surgical treatment to repair the damage, and would have been knocked out by Johnny's punches, as he was wearing big bulky rings.

@@irenethomson2033 Right? Meanwhile, according to her own words, she just went up to her room, barricaded herself - but "just to feel better, because there were other ways to enter the room"! - and then, trapped in one house with this terrifying abuser who just completely destroyed her, she just... took some sleeping pills. Yes, clearly she was terrified of him [sarcasm, of course]. I do have one quibble though, about the broken bottle: she didn't say the bottle WAS broken, she said that "she was PRAYING that the bottle was not broken" - so I think she gets a pass for that. But the abuse she described apart from that would still require medical help.

A man who convinced the world he had scissors for fingers.... Didn't she TRY to convince people she was an "intelligent fish"? Aquaman - surely she didn't think that was REAL too? I feel uncomfortable admitting that I am a survivor of child abuse & sexual abuse, after serving 8 years in the United States Marine Corps in an infantry unit that I also ended up being a victim of spousal abuse - yes, after 14 years I can finally admit to the world that my wife abused me. As a man, as a Marine - I found it really hard to convince myself that I was being abused. After that marriage, I found myself in a domestic relationship where I was abused again. To hear Amber Heard... TRYING to be a victim, it makes me sick. Physically sick. I don't think she has EVER been abused or maybe as a child and somehow she was able to flip the script as an adult and SHE was the abuser. There were times that I "grew a spine" and had the balls momentarily in both relationships and I said something to them. I said "mean" things, that were nothing compared to what I was really dealing with but it was my rare comments that were heard by someone else or recorded for a long time until the day that they weren't. When I got a cell phone provided to me by work, THAT is when what I was trying to survive and what I blamed myself for was finally heard by an outsider. I didn't hang up, and my boss heard what happened when I walked into the house one night. He showed up a couple hours later with police - my phone was still providing him word for word play by play of what was going on. Watching Johnny Depp testify, sometimes trying to be funny - it was almost exactly the same as how I told my story, when people had already heard with their own ears first. I tried to protect myself by making a joke about almost everything because I was a MAN and I was a MARINE - telling my story felt like betraying men and all of my fellow Marines. Amber makes me SICK.

What do you think about the juror that came out on ABC's Good Morning America show this morning stating that very thing? They were there through the trial and heard _everything_ -- saw more evidence than we did, even (ie: FULL audio tapes, FULL evidence files). The juror (who was identified, *verified* by ABC, and then kept anonymous) stated that all of them ... THEY ALL thought they were both abusive to each other. That's pretty significant. Let's not cast wide nets against everyone that says that. I've never personally sat and said that "both were abusive", but I'm not going to sit and pretend Johnny was an angel, either. It's extremely disingenuous when discussing a very serious topic. From what I've come across from most who say that, they're *not* saying Johnny was pummeling Amber and acting out in extreme physical violence against her like she may have done when they say "abuse went both ways". Verbal abuse and acting out towards inanimate objects in front of someone out of anger _is_ a thing that happens and is often used in cases to prove such abuse, which is what many people could mean, and I genuinely do not believe Depp is ever immune from implications that it went both ways. He's not that perfect. To act like he never did or that something like that shouldn't be classified as "abuse" just because it wasn't the stuff Amber was doing is the wrong viewpoint to have in all of this and doesn't help anyone, and neither does assuming anyone and everyone that uses that viewpoint/opinion doesn't mean they didn't watch the trial when a confirmed juror even said they all thought that yet still had it rule in his favor. It doesn't mean he's instantly a baddie ... just that he's not as innocent as many fans of his are trying to portray due to bias while belittling those that hold that view.

@@Lollipop_Lexi There’s definitely a point, but I do believe that the (alleged) difference in intensity justifies AH to be presented as the main abuser. To give an extreme example: If person A pushes person B and B then kills A, you wouldn’t say the killing was justified or they mutually abused each other. And assuming what we know about AH and JD is true, the difference in what both seem to have done is big enough for this reasoning to be true.

"I never had to instigate it." - Big massive eff off red flag. Abusers do that, they blame their victim constantly for their own actions. "Look what you made me do. Look what you turned me into. If you just did as I say, then I wouldn't need to get mad. I wouldn't need to punish you. You deserve this abuse." Given that Amber cannot take responsibility *ever,* I don't doubt she thinks, in her warped view of everything, that her being abusive and nasty and condescending and manipulative is somehow justified because Johnny, Kate James, her sister, Rocky, Musk, the world; everyone forces her to be this way. It isn't her fault. She is forced to be this person by everyone and everything. It can *never* be her fault, because everything she does is justified by the fact that everyone else is chronically stupid and wrong.

@The Amber Heard Playlist!! I watched the trial. Both of them got issues and were in a very toxic relationship; however, it was very obvious that Amber was lying since her stories kept changing. Also, she didn't even donate the money that she lied and claimed she donated. Amber is untrustworthy in my opinion. I honestly think that she should get some professional help and get some serious therapy. She needs help. I was once married to a physically, mentally and emotionally abusive man. I had to get my head stitched up because he hit my head with a chair. I also had a knife thrown at me, and I had to go to ER for that as well. I know what being abused is like. I left my ex-husband with only a suitcase and filed for divorce to save myself. Amber didn't even act like an abuse victim. If she was truly afraid for her own safety due to being abused, why was she the one who kept chasing Johnny and not leaving him alone when Johnny asked to be left alone? Amber is insulting real abuse victims. If she was truly afraid for her own safety, she wouldn't have given Johnny a large knife for his birthday; it didn't make sense. For argument's sake, let's say she had told the honest truth throughout this case. Obviously her story isn't going to change because it is what happened, regardless of what was decided in court, and sadly in cases of IPV or SA it is an all too common outcome. What I cannot wrap my head around though is that, even if that were the case, she lost. She spoke out about what she alleges she experienced and a jury of her peers decided she had lied with malicious intent. So regardless of how truthful she may or may not have actually been, it's done with. In the eyes of the law the allegations she made were events that did not happen. By all means, speak out about the legal process and the decision of the jury if you truly think they were wrong but don't go continuing to make the claims that put you there in the first place! I cannot imagine any other victim of IPV making these sorts of claims immediately after losing any kind of legal case against their abuser. IMO, it just further fuels her lack of credibility, because she claims she wants to be left alone but instead of lying low, letting the dust settle, and quietly moving on with her life - even if she was biding her time until it felt right to speak out on her perceived injustice - she is putting herself in the spotlight, providing more fuel for her haters, continuing to rake Johnny Depp through the mud, and ultimately discrediting herself even further.

I think this is the narcissism. If people scorn her for the false narrative - she can turn that back around and call them Depp followers, blinded by his power, misogynists, etc. and paint herself as the victim of peoples actions. But if people talk about her acting - that’s personally saying she’s bad at something and a hit towards her self esteem. . She can fire back by saying she’s the victim in the trial situation, but not necessarily able to be a “victim of the circumstances” in her criticized acting. Or at least that’s my thoughts. I don’t think her self-esteem was linked to the trial as much as it is to her acting. But I completely agree with you that she’s more defensive about criticizing her acting. I noticed during the trial - she was more upset that people were actually questioning her about her statements, like how dare they, and upset this is all unfolding. And not as upset about the abuse she said was happening. Like a little kid who is upset about being caught, not upset about what they did.

There is a recorded conversation where Johnny is asking, in a way pleading, with Amber to settle this between themselves. I felt he was really trying to save her reputation knowing and warning her how bad it would be to take this to court. Instead she decided to write the op-ed that basically accused him of spousal abuse. So after Johnny warned her she chose to dig her own grave.

Some highlights from this interview: - Every witness that didn’t testify in my favor was lying. The police, the experts, the randoms who had never been friends or employed by either me or Johnny. - Yes there are recordings where I admit to hitting Johnny and taunting him to come forward as a victim, but those were taken out of context of the whole recording. (even though most of the complete recordings actually make her look worse in-context) - The UK case being decided by a single judge is superior than a jury because I won the UK case. - When I wrote the op-ed I was worried I might defame JD so I consulted my lawyers. (why would you be concerned about defamation if you were telling the truth??) - Let me tell you about how I was in an abusive relationship by giving you a lecture where I constantly place myself as an outside expert perspective observing common traits of abusive relationships, rather than tell you about how I was in an abusive relationship. - Yeah there were pictures of me where I looked perfectly fine literally the day after Johnny bashed my face in with brass knuckles, but it’s not because I’m lying. The reason I looked perfectly fine after these alleged gruesome beatings was because tbh I don’t want you to pay attention to that. If you you think my testimony not lining up with the evidence is suspicious than you just don’t believe victims. - I shouldn’t have to actually donate the amount of money that I said I would for people to believe that I’m truthful. - I don’t think it matters that I went around telling everyone I already donated all of my divorce settlement when I actually didn’t. - My self-reported trauma notes from therapists should’ve been enough for them to take as factual evidence of the physical and sexual violence I claim occurred. - If my evidence wasn’t believed, it’s because the jurors and witnesses and public are all just biased against me. They’re either paid by Johnny, or they’re his fans. There are no other alternatives such as my evidence wasn’t lining up with my testimony. - I still love JD and hold no ill will towards him even though I tried and continue to try and destroy his reputation, call him an abusive monster, won’t let this case die, and counter-sued him for $100 million dollars??????

Yep. Both parties have very toxic traits. Johnny has been known to throw things in a rage. That can be seen as intimidation. Just because he isn't hitting his partner or previous partners, he HAS gone on to throw things and ruin things with previous partners. That is an act of violence. Just because he didn't put his hands on anyone, doesn't make him mr perfect. Over all though, she sucks.

@naomitrimble6805 2 жыл бұрын
@@starynightugh6951 Does that not detract from the situation though? Yes people throwing things or smashing things when they are angry can be scary and *could* be used deliberately to intimidate, but there is no evidence of that, nor does it have any relevance to the fact that - as far as we can see - he was the *victim* of IPV. Whether a person is a complete saint or not does not change how much of a victim they are because that's not how abusive relationships work. An abuser is an abuser whoever they are abusing and the fault lies solely with them. I also can't imagine it is something that people would be talking about if the roles were reversed, but for some reason when the victim is a man, all of his less than favourable traits seem to be talked about as much as the abuse he allegedly suffered. I've even see people say that they were BOTH abusive towards each other (even though that isn't actually possible because in its very definition, the power balance of an abusive relationship is entirely one sided). It's as if being a man of anything less than angelic quality means he couldn't possibly *just* be a victim, he *must* have been a part of the problem too.

My point was that, even among people in support of Johnny Depp, far too much focus is being put on his behaviour despite its lack of relevance to Amber's abuse, and I do not for one second believe it would be happening if he were a woman. BPD all the way, the first symptom of BPD is an unnatural clinging attachment to one person, that person who she abused and assaulted; she has no bad feeling towards him because she is the guilty party...that just proved her shit. Hell this guy beat her senseless and raped her multiple times. Moist other woman would have rung their make friends or police and would have the shit belted out of him and had him jailed. The hate would be palpable. For real DV victims be it male or female they just never want to see that person again and have physical evidence. Amber has a serious mental illness that is not treatable by drugs. She needs intensive counselling and even hospitalisation to sort her issues out. She has to have the last word and her narcissism and projecting is full on and she cannot help it. She is digging a huge deep hole. I really hope that Johnny just cuts the debt on the condition she gets help and tell the truth. Imagine she is a mother, and its proven that children with parents who have BPD have a very high chance of developing it themselves. So I think she needs help now, and then she might get a chance at a normal life. There will be an injunction and JD could easily sue her for repeating publicly the defamation of Johnny, the funny thing is fuck all people will believe her. Id say if she keeps going JD will put her through the paper shredder....she might end up in jail if they get an injunction.

And he didn't say that he would do anything to bring about this humiliation. I read it more as an expression of disbelief that it had gone this far and that if she continued to make unfounded and public accusations the truth would have to come out. I felt that he knew from decades of experience that her own actions would be her downfall. She was humiliated by the faeces in his bed and the fact that Sterling Jenkins testified to her admitting it. By being caught in her lies. By being exposed for who she really is behind closed doors. It is so easy to let a characterisation like that to become regarded as fact when it isn't - it's her interpretation of that text and the only reason she ever saw it is because of this litigation. *Edited for clarity

There is a treatment for people with Amber's condition, however it is life long intensive therapy and she has to be willing to change. It is a personality disorder, it is the essence of who she is. There isn't a drug to make people more confident, less insecure, sarcastic, humorous, charming, antagonizing, etc. so it makes sense that it could take decades of therapy for her to manage her personality.

I think almost every single thing in this whole trial that is being held against AH could, by itself, not be indicative of lying or a true part of a victim’s story, but all together? With the recordings? It can’t all be true, and if not everything can be true and we don’t know which is which, then technically everything could be a lie. That’s why I don’t believe her, not because she didn’t leave Johnny, or because she noticed the dirty carpet, or because the pictures looked sus. It’s because of everything.

An abuser's "love" they constantly tout is just another means of emotional and psychological manipulation. They know it makes their victim get the confusing feelings of warm fuzzies mixed with scary and fucked up memories. She knows she is doing this to continue the abuse. The only thing she loves other than herself is doing this to whichever victim she can, for as long as she can. Once she gets an injunction from Johnny, she'll just move onto someone else.

Usually those who do training to work with DV and abuse victims are also taught to recognise when they might be facing the actual abuser because it's not uncommon for them to pose as victims in a bid to find out what a professional might say to them, what help they might receive etc. in order to exert even more control over their victim.
