For everyone wanting to do this! 2 ropes 6ft long 16 ropes 5ft long 6 ropes 16ft long 12 ropes 18ft long 36 ropes 15in long So a total of 449ft and roughly 150yards I'm so sad because the rope I bought is only 109 yards 😭😭😭 so I wanted to pass on this information so hopefully other people won't make the same mistake!

I am so disappointed in purchasing rope on Amazon to find out that it is not the diameter is says it is. I made this once and it ended up almost half the size and the rope I used "said" it was 5 mm. I have now ordered some cotton rope from ropeshop.ca. Thank you Emily for mentioning where you get your rope. I can't wait to make this again. I did sell the first one, but hoping this one will be the thickness and size for over my bed. Love your macrame vids and your life stories. You are very sweet. Blessings.

Hi Emily! Your macrame is so great and you do it in a refreshing way that makes it fun to watch! It's been a looong time since I've made anything macrame (before you were born! The '70s actually.) I learned and stopped in the same year because of cost and never tried it again. With the resurgence of Boho and macrame, I thought I would try again. My biggest problem is figuring how much cord I'll need for a project of my own design. Several times I would get halfway finished and realized I was going to be short. Do you have a rule of thumb you go by? Any help would be greatly appreciated :-). Keep creating your beautiful works of art! SKD
