Have a dash of white vinegar and water in you kettle and it will do the trick for you. when it has boiled i use that water to wash the sink that i have dusted with baking soda.. The same trick for your shower head, leave it in a plastic bag with a strong mix of white vinegar over night.. the vinegar is just amazing

I always find turning the jet settings to the most powerful on your shower head then using that on tiles/in the grout is really good at removing limescale and dirt. It's like a pressure washer for your shower! Or using an old electric toothbrush is great for cleaning tiles and the oven too x

Hi! Use vinegar for cleaning the kettle. You put 1 part cold water and 1 part vinegar in the kettle and turn it on. After the mix has come to boil, let it sit for another 10minutes or so. After that put the kettle on again but with only water this time. It works great and isn't as harsh as the chemical mixes are.. :)
@mrsemilynorris5 жыл бұрын
Ah ok I will try this Kersti. Thank you so much for watching xx

One advice I can give Emily is get a soft water installation for the whole house. Hard water areas such as yourself is the worst for keeping anything clean. Instantly the limsacle will reduce and the scum around the showers will eventually fade. My plan is to get it next as my friends had hers done due to her children getting bad eczema from the water. X

I use white vinegar too. I leave it sitting for 20 mins and stuff a cotton wool ball down the spout and then pour a little of the vinegar solution away through the spout, soaking the cotton wool, it descales the spout at the same time. Then I remove the cotton wool and boil the kettle before rinsing and boiling 2 more times before use.
@starilvara5 жыл бұрын
Lemon juice works, too - I usually go with about 3 parts water to one part lemon juice (ie 3/4 water, 1/4 lemon juice), with the kettle maybe half full (the bottom is always the worst and the rest seems to come up fine with just the lemony steam and a bit of a scrub) it's a little more expensive than vinegar, but it makes the kitchen smell really nice and works just as well. (I'm not keen on using the branded sachet things, I know they're safe if you rinse well and so on, but I'm still nervous about residues getting left behind. At least I know vinegar or lemon are food safe!)
