I love your videos and I am really encouraged; since I turned 70, I have made a huge change in my wardrobe, eliminating the more predictable pieces for my age and created a winter capsule wardrobe based on 3 colors: whitish, camel and black. It's what I call a soft edge, anchored with white custom Converse platforms and Kenneth Cole black ankle suede boots. A pair of white/black Chelsea boots are next. The explanation of anchor pieces, pairing pieces, layering pieces, top off pieces, and sprinkle pieces were so helpful that I finally feel I can put together any capsule wardrobe with ease (and trust me, I've been working at this for a while)! I realize I have been intimidated at basic pieces because I thought they were boring. Now I see that the combination of pieces is what really creates a look, and that adding basics provides so much versatility. I also appreciate your emphasis on style moods; it makes sense to be prepared to dress for any way you might feel. And, this may be obvious to most, but I also recognized that each piece is of high quality. This really helps give a sophisticated and put-together vibe, which I will now aspire to when searching for future pieces. Thank you for helping explain the science of fashion-ability in a way that novices can understand and implement!

I just watched this whole video. Live in Florida. Am 60 plus years of age. Don't know a thing about capsule wardrobes. Have a closet full of bright colorful cool looking stuff. I am extremely diverse in what I will wear depending on the occasion. But sit at home by myself doing nothing most of the time. Have figured out one thing. 😉Once proudly owned a bold hot pink & black vertical striped pant in the late 80s. Instead of structured denim, they were a simplified harem design that draped nicely over hips in stretchy soft jersey material that tapered down to the ankles. Used to pair 'em w/all black. A wife beater undershirt & either a sheer black button down blouse knotted @ the waist or a hip length Boucle gilet on top. 🌬️When it got chilly, I might swap for a body-con black t-neck, topped w/a black leather moto jacket. 🤜Wore all looks w/block heeled black combat boots🤛. It was very theatrical. 😃Thought I was all that...& a bag of chips. 😔Of course, I don't have the same swag these days. I recently got a pair Stella McCartney Chelsea boots (cause I am with you on a Chelsea being a necessity) and omg...they are freaking amazing! I highly recommend! They have replaced my Ganni chelseas (which ended up being super uncomfortable...I wore them through Germany on a trip and my feet were THRASHED by them).
