this video doesnt convince me that the album is good, the production is the best thing about the album but eminems accent does get annoying after awhile. his lyrics throughout the album arent that good and he uses the same flow every song (something he didnt do on mmlp or sslp) the concept of the album is cool. overall i’d give the album a 6.5-10

Ever since I listened to Relapse, I knew it was for sure, one of the top 3 albums he had ever released. I grew up listening to Eminem since he released The Eminem Show, as a kid who at the time did not speak English (I'm from latin america) I found myself fascinated with the beats and the lyrical performance even though I did not understand anything he was saying, it was through his music that I started learning a new language on my own, and here I am 24 years later with a second language on my brain thanks to Slim. Respect, Marshall.
@JRock5145143 ай бұрын
Well, you had yourself a damn good teacher there, because you’re English is impeccable. That’s something to be very proud of. English is one of the harder languages to learn when you come from a Latin country.

Relapse has always been my favourite. So experimental yet it just works. I remember I used to have the cd as a kid and I would blast tf out of it whenever my mum wasn’t home. I remember how dark it felt, but how he just played it off as a joke at the same time, I have always admired that aspect of Eminem. Not many people can go that dark and still not sound like they trying to sound scary, it was still about wordplay.

If you ask me this was the last time Eminem still used a homegrown formula. He had Dre and the Bass brothers and it sounded like an Eminem album. To me, what is missing is the Bass Brothers sound in Em's newest music. I loved relapse because of the flows and technical skill along with cool zany, hard or spooky production.

Eminem is the 🐐 and I was one of the few that loved Relapse when it came out back in 09. Over the years Relapse has climbed up the list of my fav Em albums of all time. Eminem technically was at his best on Relapse. He killed every Dre beat on that album. And Dre went all out on the production. Some of the best beats he has ever made. Relapse is one of the best concept albums I’ve ever listened to. These albums I can play front to back with no skips. These are Eminem’s best projects in his career. 1.) MMLP 2.) TES 3.) SSLP 4.) Relapse 5.) TDOSS (may pass Relapse) 6.) Recovery These are albums that have some gems and pretty good songs but even as a Stan there are some songs on these albums that I do skip. 7.) MMLP2 8.) Kamikaze 9.) MTBMB Side A and B Eminem’s worst projects of his career. Maybe a few songs I like but as overall projects 🗑️ 10.) Encore 11.) Revival And I don’t count Infinite.

Relapse just didn't have any hype compared to any of his first 3 albums. The slim shady persona didn't catch on here like it used to, so I think people sort of fell out of the Eminem train at this point, so by the time this came out the majority probably weren't checking for him musically. And at the time, trap was already taking over so I think that was another factor as well. Personally I don't think it was his best work but it had some tracks that were slept on too. I feel that's why Recovery went more the mainstream route because he was starting to fall off quick after Encore and Relapse.
