"I know how lazy boys can be" I literally sat up in bed to scold my boys about their laziness only to see them literally proving your point. Both of my rat cages (one for females, one for males) have a huge wheel in it. Quite a few of my girls love running on theirs, especially when I'm trying to sleep or listen to a video (hence why I currently have headphones in). One of my girls is running on the wheel whereas I look over at the boy cage to literally see one of them sleeping on the wheel. I genuinely don't think any of my boys have ever used their wheel for anything other than to eat and sleep on.

Anyways, we're out in the free roam, I started up this video (I have some new babies to introduce so I was on a binge of your videos lol) and he made a b line straight to my phone. The intensity at which he was sniffing at the speaker was astronomical. About 3 minutes in he was bruxing and boggling like mad, and he only ever does either when he's snugged and getting scritches. I already have a two level critter nation cage for two babies. I just got my perspex. Thank god you mentioned those because otherwise I don't know how i could've ever afforded plexiglass or known of another option to help with the endless huge mess of bedding on the floor. Every question I have, you've made an entire video on and youve made this ,larger than expected challenge, much less stressful and made stellar rat care easily accessible. I'm in the usa, i was going to buy things from your shop and made a whole order before finding out at check out that once inputting my country, shipping more than quadrupled ...which I totally understand as you're in another country and have no control over that. The best thing you can do is learn from your mistakes. You'll remember the errors but your beardie has probably already forgotten everything you've fixed! Reptile care can be so tricky with all of the conflicting information out there. Don't be too hard on yourself. Hey emi!! Quick question: The bottom of my cage has the same metal pattern as the sides, will they get bumble foot from this?
@sinandcyanide75054 жыл бұрын
The metal bottoms aren't good. Cover it with plastic place mats or a few layers of fleece and they'll be better off and much more comfortable. Bumble foot happens when bacteria gets into small cuts or skin folds and causes an infection, and cuts are more likely when you have a metal floor like that.

Spot the fake rat!! I also give my rats toilet rolls to play with. They spend ages taking it up two floors and into their pods. It’s great exercise. When I get up in the morning it’s all gone!

hello emi, my parents wont allow m to get my rats a large cage. (i have a tank) i really like them and want them to be healthy. they are young still so im not as worried but still. i dont know what to do.

It’s dangerous for baby rats to also live in tanks because of the ammonia. You need to show them all the information about why tanks are bad and can cause them to get sick and need to go to the vets (ultimately they’ll have to spend money regardless). If they still won’t get them a cage unfortunately you’ll have to give them to someone who can give them what they need ☹️

The people that disliked probably didn’t like rats or were upside down when they disliked it and thought it was the like button
