Emirates Airlines - Business Class Review (Birmingham to Dubai)

Business Class Review - Flight B777-300 from Birmingham International to Dubai
First and foremost, I would like to say this is an honest review and a personal opinion of mine. I wouldn't recommend flying with Emirates Airlines. There were more cons than pros which I will provide details of a few below. It is such a shame because I did like Emirates Airlines back in the days. I will rate this flight 4.5 out of 10.
Ticket Prices and Baggage Allowance
This was an expensive flight. I did expect the expense because it was a last-minute booking. However, I wasn’t aware the baggage allowance being reduced from 72kg to just 40kg. I was fuming because I am travelling for a few months I needed more than 40kg especially during the winter period of 2021. I had to pay an additional £149.00 for 20kg. I was upset, this incident put me off the flight and Emirates Airlines. I will have to pay another £149 on my return.
Wheelchair Access
I booked access to a Wheelchair with my travel agent. When I checked in they asked me to queue up in the wheelchair access facility and request one for myself. I was annoyed because I had already booked one, I didn't understand why I had to queue up for the service. It was a long queue.
I decided to just walk to my gate. I struggled. When I got to my gate I requested it from the air hostess to provide a wheelchair for my transit in Dubai. She looked annoyed and said 'didn't you book one after your check-in?' She huffed and puffed and said 'I will make a note of it but I cannot guarantee it'. I was surprised with her reaction and attitude. I was a passenger of Emirates Airlines. I did not expect this behaviour or attitude. This bitterness was experienced throughout the flight from the staff. I was eventually, provided a wheelchair in my transit and arrival in Karachi Airport. I was relieved and grateful for.
Seating
The flight was full. Wearing a mask was mandatory. But there was no social distancing. I was a little uncomfortable for being surrounded by so many individuals in a airtight public transport.
Adjusting my seating was a struggle. It takes time and patience to adjust the seat to your needs.
AC Aircons
They were not working effectively. It was extremely hot throughout the journey. I felt very uncomfortable and couldn’t rest because of it.
Entertainment
There was limited amount of good movies to watch. Majority of them were two-three star ratings.
Vlogging
I was told I was not allowed to film or post a review of my flight experience. I needed special authorisation from Emirates Airlines and the UAE.
Food and Beverages
Food was very nice. There was drinks and snacks offered throughout the flight. The main course beef was a little overcooked. Hot drinks were poor quality and served in basic mugs.
Conclusion
The flight experience with Virgin Atlantic was absolutely exceptional compared to this one. The flight attendants were so friendly and made me feel special on their flight where as on this flight I felt I was served by robots. Many may have had a better experience than me. But I did not have a good experience this time round. It did not add up to the price I paid for.

It was overwhelming to choose. They were all 1 - 3 star movies 🍿…. I ended up watching the classic Ben-Hur and really enjoyed it!
