Emirates Boeing 777 new business class review: Singapore to Dubai

Even this rusted on Qantas flyer has experienced many intercontinental flights with Emirates and is about to embark on another flight from Australia to Cairo with Emirates in two days time. Total value for the cost of a J ticket and incomparable service.

The business lounge opposite by their arch rivals is another league ahead of this. The Qatar Premium Lounge does a mixture of buffet and ala carte dinning with a full service bar, that for me is by far the best Business class lounge in Changi.

Hi Jameson. You are so right!! I visited for the first time the new Qatar lounge, just 3 days ago for a Finnair business flight, and it was by far the best lounge in Singapore, amazing food (a la carte) and service, and very private, just like a first class lounge. Keep an eye on the channel next Tuesday 30th, I will upload the full review.

It's just in the beginning of the engine. (there was no first class on this 777)

Never a fan of EK’s 777 no matter it’s new or old. “Climbing over” another passenger is so not business class by today’s standard. It’s a shame!

That 2-3-2 configuration ruins that cabin. If you are flying by yourself is horrible.

Emirates Business Class looks wonderful until they lose your luggage. Landed in Heathrow 3 weeks ago to watch everyone else's business class luggage arrive. After lodging a claim Emirates have not contacted me once, no support or compensation for delayed luggage. They have made many promises but delivered nothing. Pick another airline.

I agreed emirates’ biz class should have been retired a long time ago and yet it’s still here in 2024. the 2-3-2 seat config are cramped and with the tacky, gold coloring, false wood interior seemed like something out of a cheap Vegas casino. (Unfortunately, I was rerouted from Air France biz class direct from Paris to Saigon, due to a strike, to Emirates via Dubai). And got a taste of the terrible biz class seats of Emirates. However, the food was not so bad. But the service is quite rushed since they do pack a lot of people into biz class. I would said it’s more like premium economy.

Service on Air France biz class is probably not as good. They tend to be officious on that AF airlines. But a direct 12 hr flight from Paris to Sgn is much better than on two flights with cramped biz class seats

@@lamthuyen agree, direct always win. Personally, the service and food is 10x better in Emirates vs Air France. From dxb-cdg you should have A380, so the seats are 1-2-1.

@@PremiumTravelClub, 10x is an exaggeration, obviously. Is it worth 10x the price due to service alone? On a long flight, comfort is the most important thing. Being cramped and having to climb over people to go to the restroom even though you paid for biz class is not worth the great service. (I did not get the cdg-dxb. I was in Madrid when the strike started and got rerouted to mad-dxb, dxb-Sgn).

@@lamthuyen The price difference is not 10x. In fact Asia-Europe is cheaper in Emirates vs Air France for almost any date. But if you get in the middle seat, you are right, it's not a "real" business class. I can only imagine that you need to wake up the person next to you...

not a fan of the 2-3-2 lay out, especially if your travelling alone and you have a window seat, your clambering over a stranger next to you, not very smart Emirates

Emirates 777s are really not special at all in business class - in fact, it isn’t as good as many. 2x3x2 is way outdated and the seats are narrow. The ONLY Emirates aircraft worth flying in business class is the A380. First is great on the A380, and very cool on refurbished 777s, but there is no shower spa.

Hi Philip. It depends with what you compare, IMHO, it is much better than KLM, Air France, American, Qantas, etc, even in 2-3-2. Also not impressed with their A380, it feels dated and the personal space is limited comparing with 777s.

@@PremiumTravelClub Interesting - I recently flew both Air France and KLM to/from Los Angeles. While I don’t typically like reverse-herringbone seating, both were more comfortable (and certainly private) than the times I’ve flown Emirates business class on a 777. For me, space and privacy are the most important factor flying - Emirates 777s don’t provide that IMO, much like Turkish. I do prefer Emirates soft product - food and on-board amenities, but those don’t make up for the tight 777 cabin for me. The only thing I don’t care for on the A380 is the upstairs curvature of the aircraft, which along the window seats feels close in F. I’ve never noticed a lack of cubby holes.

Fair enough, Philip. I guess everyone has a different way of rating it. The latest biz seats for Air France 777 / 787 or KLM 787 have good privacy (and suites with doors to come next year). I am finding the soft service and the overall experience (chauffer, lounges, service, food) much better at the ME airlines.

Pajamas in first class is commonplace. I’ve flown Emirates F a lot - the A380’s showers do make it unique (although Etihad also has showers) and the service is nice, but a little robotic.

Hi Louise. Ofc first class is always better and 2 levels above this. You get pajams in some biz class as well, like Qatar or JAL.

If this is Emirates idea of a high density business class, they have done quite a good job. However, the seat storage has to be greatly improved if they want to stick with this configuration. The soft product should also make up for the bad hard product.

I have seen that they started to update some 777s with 2-2-2 configuration. You are right, the soft product is the driver for all to return to Emirates.
