Great video and step by step on the air pump removal/install. I am looking to buy a Crossfire and the one I am seriously looking at seems to have come down with the P0410 error today (or at least that's what the owner told me) so I will likely be replacing the pump if I buy the car. This helps immensely and let me know it's not a big job.

It's not a big job at all. Enjoy your new crossfire.

@@samcastle3653 As a follow up, when I had this problem I found through the Crossfire Forum that it could be my RCM. So I had the RCM rebuilt and my air pump code went away. Apparently it is rare for the pump to go out. It happens but is rare. I would check the RCM first. If you have a friend with a Crossfire, borrow their RCM and put it in your car and then put an OBD scanner on it and see if the code goes away.

@@samcastle3653 You bet. I have 3 Crossfires now and have had DJ Tighe from the Crossfire FB page rebuild the RCM on each of them. A lot of things can be related to an issue with the RCM.

Dude! Replaced air pump in 5 minutes cleared the code so far so good. only put about 20 miles on it though hopefully this clear the engine code for good.

Thanks for your videos. I have a question . I was out yesterday and My car has been running fine went on a few errands , I went to early dinner the parking lot is slightly on a grade high near the restaurant and lower at end of parking lot after an hour I came out and went to start the car well I had taken the RCM out last winter and soldered all the weak looking points , and have had no problems starting car. Well came out to start car well as I turn the key to start no starter engage all dash lights were on as I turned the ignition switch . Well I tried many times and nothing so I figured the starter failed well I tried to start car going backwards popping the clutch well nothing so I coasted to the parking space at end of parking lot with engine bay exposed incase the tow truck would need to get to it. Had AAA on the phone and thought I would try one more time well Blaze started right up went on with my errands not shutting car off went to WalMart and figured I would shut it off well just for the Hell of it , I started it to see if it would start It did !! well in Wal Mart 20 min came out car started right up sounds like a new car. My Blaze red coupe has 146,800 miles on it 6 Speed . I wondered if anyone else had this same problem this is first time it ever happened to me . I am a little frightened to drive Blaze to far from home figuring what else will happen this car has its quirks and gremlins. I love my little coupe but she scares me at times. Thanks

Possible crank position sensor. Possible battery. Did the fin do anything strange, like while you were trying to start try to close, or if already closed make a weak a$$ attempt to open? If the fin was weird test the battery or if battery is more than 3 years old just change it. If the you just get the mystery no start, I would replace CSP sensor. I have this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eH-9YZVqjdF8m7c

@@ryanreynolds7771 fin is the rear spoiler. Sorry man, I guess you know. I can only tell you my experiences. I have had three strange starting experiences with my crossfire. Once in 2013 in front of insurance agency. Went to start, dash lit up, rear spoiler lifted and and went down, everything had power except the starter apparently. Changed the battery and everything worked great until 2017 when I would drive the car, I didn't know it but the CPS was affected by heat, when I tried to start the car, it would not crank over until I let it cool down for 30+ minutes. I tried replacing the CPS and deduced correctly. Once I changed that I was good to go. Been driving it with no issue until summer of 2019 when the steering pin spring was ineffective at disengaging the anti theft mechanism in the column. This doesn't sound like your problem because you can still spin your key in the ignition tumbler. If you haven't done it yet, you might consider pulling this pin, but it's a pretty big job, and I don't think it's your issue.

@@glencouls hello my friend ya I did the ignition spring . but when I opened it it had been removed so I lubricated it with Vaseline . so it could be cps which I will order one I hear only buy Bosch brand. @@ryanreynolds7771 your questions are always welcome here. I can only answer through my experience, I have read a lot about this car but I believe I'm expert on what I have learned hands on. That's not to say the issue couldn't be something I have not experienced. Enjoy blaze.

Any advice on replacing the check valves for the system as well?
@ryanreynolds77714 жыл бұрын
Hi Glen I have a question my air pump used to come on when I started car from cold. (( I DO NOT HAVE ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON )) . This seemed to stop since my Air conditioner got hot and I replaced the electro magnet and pully in my cars air cond compressor. I guess I could bypass to see if the pump still works by unhooking the electro connector TO BATTERY ? or do you think it could be a fuse. I have another question I have one working key cause I lost the transponder out of my 2nd flip key I found every part but the transponder chip on a black rd at night and I was told to take the one last transponder chip and removed it and took the antenna around the key and put in in an old fob and zip tied it to the transponder antenna now my 2 keys start the car or any cut key will start the car but what is weird is the remote will not lock the car with the remote until it sits for a hour or so . Even the lock button on the dash does not work until it sits awhile,, what could this be ?? since the transponder chip is in the transponder antenna permanetly could that be fooling the computer which is telling the key is in the ignition and does not allow you to lock it until it sits a while .I wanted to install and aftermarket flip key remote locking system to the switch in the dash. I found a VW type after market remote locking system on ebay paid $9.00 with 2 flip keys and the circuit box and wire harness and if I could bypass the wiring to work with this aftermarket remote locking system be a cheap fix for those who have one working key to a VW type remote system from Ebay. Just wanted to know if anyone has done this. Because buying used Xfire keys cannot be reprogrammed to another Crossfire cars buying used keys are worthless I bought 8 used keys all work but not with my car . I was able buy aftermarket flip keys ( look like VW flip keys ) I programmed these to my 2011 Mustang with aftermarket flip keys worked perfectly I paid $9.50 for 2 generic VW type flip keys I was so happy they worked on my 2011 Mustang easy to programed there is a video on youtube how to program to Ford Mustang they work great for 3 yrs now. The Crossfire has over kill security which I hate as many who own Crossfire all hate the SKREEM system, sorry for long message ..

Did you have to go thru a drive cycle to reset codes after installing air pump? Also what size socket size 8? Is it 12 sided socket or 6 sided?
@glencouls5 жыл бұрын
It was a size 8, 8mm star pattern. Lowes has Kobalt multi-use sockets so that is what I used.

I use an obd-II bluetooth scanner to clear my codes. Yes, you have to drive a threshold of miles to find out if your fix actually cleared the code. But the obd II clear should turn the dash light off while the car collects the data.
