I always thought the same thing about parents. My mother passed away from lung cancer at only 57, so its really important to cherish them! It's nice to see a young couple put their family at such a high priority enough to live with them

I totally understand that you want to live with your parents together, I have been studying in Canada since I was 16, and the desire of getting back home and live with them forever gets stronger and stronger. Family is everything to me as well. Sometimes I tear because I cannot be with them

Regarding the "buying a place" as a life goal conversation, especially when a couple moves in together -- in some cities people really do rent forever. I live in NYC. I'm 43 and still renting. I know much older people who still rent. Is it the best financial idea? Maybe not. But if it works for you (or me), and/or if someone's cultural norm is different, cool! Buying property doesn't have to be achieved to be a successful life.
