12:56 I actually heard of this one. It’s not her being dumb, the reason she’s doing that is because the anti-abortion laws basically classify unborn babies as a living person hence why people think you shouldn’t be allowed to “kill” them. So by that logic any pregnant woman absolutely has a right to use an hov lane since there technically are two people in the car. She’s essentially trying to force the courts to either legally classify the baby as another human or not in order to poke holes in the anti-abortion laws. Because of the baby isn’t classified as a person in one legal case, then it shouldn’t be classified as a person in any legal case.

The health insurance thing - I'm going through that now. I need specific surgery. Two other doctors agree wholeheartedly that I need this Surgery. Insurance doesn't want to pay because I'm "too young" (by thier standards) to need said surgery. My doctors & I are appealing this decision, which means it we had to make a case stating that I REALLY need this surgery. Now, have to wait till Aug. 5, 2022 to see if we win the appeal & I get my much needed surgery. Till then, I must suffer & work. Insurances are @$$holes to make people suffer like this.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would want their politicians to decide their wages. Let it be up to the workers and the places they work, or put in other words, worker unions vs. companies. The companies will fold eventually, as they bleed money when no one are there to do the work, while the employees have plenty of time to go look for better work elsewhere and are usually financially supported by the union while on strike or out of a job (if the country has a history of using unions to decide wages that is. Like Scandinavia has). But that may just be because I'm a Dane

Just for the science correspondants out there, because something is called a scientific "Theory" doesn't mean it has not been proven to be true. A "Theory" is "a well-substantiated explanation of an aspect of the natural world that can incorporate laws, hypotheses *and facts*." (Google). So if someone says "gravity is only a theory" you can be certain they don''t know what they are talking about and save yourself the trouble of listening to anything they have to say after that.

Yep. I think of it like...on Mythbusters, when the myth is that something *happened*, it's either confirmed or busted. When the myth is that something *could* happen, they can't confirm that it has, only that it's possible, so rather than confirmed, they use the term plausible. A theory doesn't mean "This is how it is, period." It means, "This is how we believe it works, to the best of our understanding, with the info we have available at this time"

Not sure if the Brits have a different system but minimum wage is law, "living wage" is more of an activist/marketing term. So paying a "living wage" isnt a legal requirement, and may still not be enough to actually live in the city the job is located in, or even commute to it.

Density is a property of all objects, as is mass. A lower density object will rise faster in a medium. A denser object falls faster (through a medium). @@therealoatmeal4642 Idk what you mean. Even if people didn't always use vanishing points, cave drawings were in 2d. @AracneMusic
@AracneMusic 2 жыл бұрын
Well, I guess it depends on what type of blindness it is. For example, there are people who are blind, but can see basic forms that are near enough or, on the contrary, far enough (kinda like an extremely bad case of myopia). These people will usually depend on touch to percieve details. That's what I think OP wanted to say. They can draw(in the way sighted people do), because they are not totally blind, but the details they perceived through touch I imagine would be difficult to translate. That's why blind artists tend to use 3D mediums, like sculpture.

The latter has been abbreviated to just 'fossil' and became a substantive, and the original meaning is mostly forgotten except in academia, with the exception of 'fossil fuel', because journalists and politicians like words that make them look intelligent even if they don't know what they're talking about.

So they aren’t getting them necessarily welded *onto* their bodies, it’s just a chain that you pick out and then they weld the ends together, giving you a “permanent” bracelet. It can be taken off easily by cutting it, but it’s designed to be worn 24/7. No harm done, and they don’t look all that bad. They’re especially popular as friendship bracelets as they’re semi permanent.

12:30 Fun fact: buoyancy... works because of gravity. In zero-gravity environments, a toy boat might well just fall right through water - or an iron sphere might not do so. Why? Because at that point, the two forces at work are inertia and surface tension. If the boat/sphere aren't moving relative to the water, they'll stay put. If they are, they'll go through it if it's in their way. Buoyancy is basically just a function of density and gravity.

Gravity is actually a product of a force which causes the space/time fabric to be pulled "down" (in a 4th dimension) where there is mass. Where there isn't any mass for a huge distance, like millions of light years, the space time fabric moves "up" like a section of an air mattress which nobody is sitting or laying on, forcings things with mass to move apart.
