Fun fact: humans are supposed to sleep twice in a 24 hr period, something like 4-6 hours sleep, 6-8 hours work, 4-6 hours sleep, 6-8 hours work is the ideal formula, but then it became a sign that you're lazy if you sleep during the day, so we stopped doing that. Some Hispanic countries still have naps (siestas) during the day, so there are echoes of the tradition.
@AIHumanEquality3 ай бұрын
@@EnderBanned Originally our bodies were designed generally to sleep with sunset and wake with the sunrise. Over time that changed and then created diversities in our genes about how much sleep our bodies needed and when we were most awake. The way the US operates especially in the workforce is not good for human health in any way.

Some of us are born to get up in the morning. Some of us are born to get up in the evening. But the "morning people" have successfully branded it "lazy" to sleep during the daylight hours, regardless of the fact that several different kinds of jobs are now required to be worked at night. You could be an overnight emergency room nurse, coming off an 18 hour shift, and a "morning person" will call you a lazy asshole for being asleep at 9am on a Tuesday.

18:13 - it's because of the mix. Modern TV shows and movies don't have a 2-channel mixdown that evens out dialog and background sound effects anymore; apparently Netflix et al expect everyone to have $5000 home theater systems with 7.1 Atmos or some shit. Dialog is so goddamn quiet compared to the music and other sounds, and it's not normalized at all - when two people are having a normal conversation, you have to absolutely crank the volume to understand them, when suddenly a car explodes two blocks away but it sounds like a fucking nuke going off right next to you. I hate it. I wish studios would go back to making 2-channel mixes with completely normalized audio so I can watch it at night with the volume turned down and actually *HEAR* it without having to worry about my neighbors.
@iainwmacintosh3 ай бұрын
It's probably not even a stereo vs 5.1/7.1 system thing. Those shows/films may be mixed with subwoofers, so it is a lot more muddy due to only having LR speakers. Of course only really hifi 5.1/7.1 systems are set up with subs, but just having a sub properly set up can make all the difference. I do agree that streaming services like Netflix should have a mix selector, so you can choose between 5.1, 7.1, stereo speakers or headphones, where the mastering engineers actually were able to master it for that format, because you need to mix SFX, music and dialogue differently when the intended audience won't have a sub or are listening on headphones

Ah, so my PT explained the ankle thing, basically the tendon thats supposed to keep your foot from not doing that gets damaged & stretched each time you over-extend it, eventually to the point where you cant feel that you're about to roll it, and it doesnt stop you anymore. so the more you roll your ankles the more you'll roll your ankles in the future. (if they click a lot too, thats usually just that same tendon catching on another bone or tendon iirc, and unless it hurts it isnt a problem) bascially, sprain injury just equals more sprains to come (._.)b

There's a lot of reasons why someone's sleep schedule or mental state can be messed up but a lot of it has to do with the fact the majority of us are genetically programmed for working based on the sunrise and sunset. The fact we have longer working hours and jobs beyond just for survival or interest, likely plays a huge role in why our minds get effected which in turn effects the body. In the case of the US it's simply that people are overworked for minimal pay and benefit. That condition is enough to ruin your brain's morale.

No it's a lot like US Politics where the majority of executives are just a closed group of people with either money or connections who pass around different companies positions. It has nothing to do with being a hard worker, that's just the delusional ideal they try to tell everyone.

I know the co-op game you're talking about. I can't remember the name but it's where its A big puzzle and you have to saw smaller puzzles to get to a different levels and you have to follow the storyline

6:40 I usually just tell the person asking either "You'll see" or "I dunno, we'll see". It's not a definitive yes and it may or may not make them angry if you answer all of their questions like that.

You could also ask them 'why do you think so?' Or say ''hmm interesting take''

17:24 Depression. Also screens, drugs (including alcohol, tobacco and caffeine), crappy food and stress/burnout and mental issues, too hot, too cold, don't trust the alarm clock/ don't trust yourself not to snooze... but if it goes on long enough, eventually it'll be depression.

0:38 No. iPhone doesn’t. You know why? Because it costs more power & battery to close the apps all the time. They freeze when you swipe up, not using any resources. So.. don’t close your apps and you’ll save battery :).

I think a lot of it is people aren't leaving their bed for sleep and "fun" only. So your brain goes oh this place (the bed) isn't for sleep, it's for activity! And then won't let you sleep.

17:55 Is this a Spotify joke that I’m too KZbin and physical media to understand?
@Lewisiaisoutofcontext3 ай бұрын
Spotify implemented this thing called "smart shuffle" a while back, which is just shuffle but it adds songs it thinks you'll like in-between the songs actually in your playlist. At first they made this the new standard so you'd have to tap/click shuffle twice to get the normal shuffle. Very annoying. Discover Weekly is a playlist Spotify creates for you each week with recommendations it thinks you'll like based on your playlists and recent listens. It can be... whacky, to say the least. Sometimes it hits spot on, other times it's so off you're not even sure it's your playlist. Still, I've found sooo many new songs and or artists through Discover Weekly that I keep using it, even if it's sometimes laughably off target.

14:02 If there are no parking spots, what's the alternative? Sometimes you can park somewhere else and walk a few miles but not always. One time Google said that there was available parking on the other side of a bridge from where I needed to be. A bridge you can only cross with a vehicle.

if a mechanic ever fixes something on my car that I never asked for I'm simply not paying for that. Like "hey man we noticed your coolant was a little off so we went ahead and flushed that for you" like. no? i did not ask for that. I'm not paying for that. i came in here for one thing so I'll pay for what I asked for. you don't get to just slap extra charges on my bill!

7:03 because group work has a substantial learning potential. The question is to whether the student form groups themselves or the teacher decides the groups. Teacher shoudl decide the groups sometimes - *especially* when the students don't know each other very well yet.

1:16 I might know what you're talking about I forgot the name of the game, but it's about 3 police officers (or retired police, idk) who have to take down the big bad guy, and right before the final fight, you get asked to join. In single player, saying yes just kicks you back 2 levels. If you're playing with a friend, you can choose different options from each other which starts a fight between the two players. If the player who said yes wins, they can take out the boss and become the new crime lord
