Think of the over-protective super "I'm the man of the house and my daughters are mine so all boys stay away" kind of father, but apply that to their wives. "Men" like this have a huge fear of their manhood being taken into question, so they fight hard to basically be in control of everyone around them. Usually, this is from generational abuse that a man is to be taken seriously to the point of his wife needs to be completely submissive. Kind of like how there are religions that believe that the wife is to submit to the man in all areas of her life - however, in that instance, the man is also supposed to love her, respect her, honor her, and be her partner in all things and ensure that she's taken care of, which includes mentally and physically. These "men" believe in something that is completely outdated and as the cycle continues, whether they have a son or daughter, it will continue to live on through the generations. A daughter would be taught to be submissive to all men and a son will be taught to be the dominant one at all times - relationships, friendships, and in the workplace. It's a sad, sad thing to see happening, yet it does happen quite often.

at around 4:50 the problem with woke is how it has been co-opted into an insult. The way that it was used before was mostly in black communities and was just basically a way to say pay attention to the world around you. The ones who were woke were the ones to notice a problem and try to fix unlike the ones who just decided to live with it.

17:00 always tip in cash if you can. Tips are taxed when put on a credit/debit card, but in cash, the server gets to keep the money
@Bacteriophagebs
@Bacteriophagebs 2 жыл бұрын
In fact, if a tipped worker doesn't make enough tips to meet minimum wage, the employer has to pay them the difference until they meet minimum wage, so even if you tip cash, the employer is going to track and record it, and it will be taxed. Unless the worker wants to risk losing their job for concealing tips. You _might_ find an employer who lets workers not record _all_ their tips if they make a fair bit more than the minimum, and some will of course just not care that much, but yeah, tips are frequently getting taxed even if they're cash.

so many people use the word woke as if its a bad thing. i believe the actual meaning is for it to be used for people (i believe usually black people) to tell each other to stay alert of racism in our society. it means to be aware. so if youre "anti-woke" youre really just anti-awareness of racism, sexism, etc.
@iexist1300
@iexist1300 2 жыл бұрын
That's how it was originally, but that was like 40 years ago and the word has changed so much since then. I think what happened is people started using it too much in a way that started going further from its original meaning, then people used it to make fun of them, and they were able to keep the meaning the same until today. At least that's my theory, since I only know the original meaning, how conspiracy theorists use it and how it's used today.

Washington state pays servers and other tipped employees the entire state minimum wage of $14.49 an hour ($15.74 on Jan 1st). Seattle has a higher minimum wage requirement ($17.27 now, $18.69 Jan 1st) and does allow a lower wage for tipped employees of small businesses ($15.75 now, $16.50 Jan 1st), if they are making a guaranteed set amount of tips per hour ($1.52 now and $2.19 next year). But the difference in wages is only the very small hourly tip requirement. So, servers still usually make more than non tipped Seattle minimum wage workers in the long run.

Or alternatively, it was a Military Convoy with, oh I dunno, _Radar trucks?_ judging by the "miss-shaped trucks" comment. Which'd make them getting ticketed a lot more...interesting. Edit so I just saw the image which I missed the last time I saw the post, yeah it's just a Humvee with a trailer on the back, it's probably a portable generator or something, still, could be in a convoy with larger trucks I guess.

I think the only time I've ever tipped poorly due to "Not being able to afford to tip more" was once when I went out and I was not told that the prices on the menu had been raised and they just didn't print new menus, so when the bill came the $5 tip [which granted was more than 20%] ended up being more like a $2 tip ... I mean that's still better than like some cents but I remember feeling really bad about it. Hell even typing this out I cringed a little bit. Though [and yes I know people disagree with me, it's fine] the only time I've ever given a bad tip, on purpose, is when someone did a bad job. Though I was raised that if they did an ultra bad job, not to tip at all. [From two parents who both worked the majority of their youths in food service and wait staff]. And no I don't mean the kitchen messed up my order and I punished some poor wait staff, nah nah ... I mean literally did a bad job. Like literally ignored our table most of the time we were, went to talk to another table, literally grabbed food AROUND ours to take to that table and left ours on the window, brought us our food cold [yes it was actually their fault, I literally watched them leave our two plates in the window, untouched. The chefs were not adjusting/adding/removing anything for them to have left them], ignored the person I was out with ENTIRELY [I literally had to order for them because she wouldn't look at him or address him, and I doubt she knew him since he'd never been to that city before and was visiting me, and literally took my drink order and left, and then took my order, didn't see if I wanted more and walked away until I called her back and ordered his meal.]. Also ...he was the one paying, not me ... I did leave her a tip, but I can't tell you how much it was. I had no cash on me since he was taking me to dinner, so I dumped out all the change in my purse, though I know it was under or roughly $5 because I usually make sure to have roughly $5 in change [mostly quarters] so that I always have enough change when I pay in cash. But she was awful. And other than taking our order she didn't really talk to us, which overall is fine but when you go chat up another table most of the time you only have LITERALLY TWO TABLES it does seem like it's intentional. I mean she probably knew the other table but it just felt rude and she didn't seem to want to deal with us at all. - Despite that I still tipped her, but I made it a bad tip [i.e all coins, all loose change] because what the hell. I actually even left a review ... and unsurprisingly, that particular restaurant went out of business [in our area].

I will say I do like the fact dnd is stepping away from character alignments cause I've often had morally ambiguous character who would be considered lawful good to certain groups but Lawful Evil to the dnd group who was a oathbreaker paladin which required her to have a evil alignment. I'm glad that rules like alignment requirements are being reduced because of the complexity of the situation this character had...

In one of my campaigns I'm playing a character called lotan he's a mix of angel and demon. He was sold to a fighting when 3 and escaped into the forest at 15 and stayed there till 18 when the party found him. He's slowly coming to life we made him not know what pronouns were because of another character who if anything other than they/them it'll cause physical pain. We also had him not know what sexualitys, but he himself is gay. He can't read and is slowly being taught by a wendigo. He's good, but he doesn't understand how people work and what the laws are he's broken them a lot.

11:50 Manual transmission is a great anti-theft device. They can't steal your car if they can't drive it! However, hybrids don't really work with manual transmission, and EVs have no gears at all, so manuals are on their way out regardless of other factors.

One negative note on that,People think that isn't exactly thinking that oh the Stickshift is a great anti-theft devices. One problem is that is people can use the internet even on KZbin. So even with the learning curve they will understand it. And this is coming from a guy that drives an automatic then a manual. And bump starts are a thing as well.

@@1985toyotacamry Yeah, all the crackheads are going online to learn how to drive stick in case they run across one of the 4-6% of cars (depending on state) that are manual, and will be able to drive it on their first try without stalling multiple times, unlike literally everyone else in the world who take several tries to even get going and typically about an hour to get good enough at it to drive in traffic. 🙄
