Correction: that nosebleed was natural, AND she did it on purpose. Anya Taylor-Joy has the bizarre skill of being able to have a nosebleed on command. No joke, you can look it up.

I can’t remember the last time I like such romantic classics movie but Emma is certainly my favorite, i lost count on how many times I’ve watched this and yes this’s my favorite scene too, in this 5mins scene I cried, I blushed then I laughed 😂

I remember seeing an interview where they said they had been trying to use a fake blood capsule and they couldn't get it to break and they had fiddled with it so much it irritated her sinuses and caused the natural nosebleed

I love this scene! It is so romantic yet still maintain that cheerful, comedic vibe! I get some people think this is inappropriate for having the nosebleed in something that so romantic but come on this movie is a romantic/comedy so does the original novel, personally I love every humors in the film😂 I also see people complain about actor’s age, but guys Johnny Flynn was like 36 when shooting this film, I don’t think he was too young to play this rule……

I love how this scene is acted out in here comparing to Kate beckinsale’s version, because it’s clearly show how these two misunderstood each other’s feeling regarding the wedding news, the pauses and the facial expressions really work together to make the dialogue so much more fluid and easy to understand. Whereas the other version, Kate’s lack of acting make the dialogue rather confusing and disconnected (I love Kate btw, she is pretty but she can’t act in Emma lol). And while I enjoyed Anya’s acting, she’s increasingly having weird eyes and maybe body now

Am i the only person who thinks that Emma in this scene never actually accepts his marriage proposal? All she says in response to his question is "i cannot" due to Harriet. If i was Mr. Knightley i would have thought I'd been rejected......

“Epic nosebleed”? It’s the worst thing about the entire movie, including having to see sooo many butts. Butts and nosebleeds are all so uninteresting. Tell me you’ve run out of ideas to engage your audience without telling me you’ve run out of ideas to engage your audience. 80% of the movie was fantastic. But just because your leading actress can get a nosebleed on demand, doesn’t mean you should put it in your movie. Otherwise, this would have been one of the best romantic moments in cinematic history.

What? OK, call me an Austen Purist. I'm proud to be so. There's so many things wrong with this scene. Thank God I haven't watched the whole movie. If this is the first thing I see, I don't want to see more. Even if that scene is the only weird scene in the movie. It was supposed to be climatic. He is supposed to be 18 years older than her. Why are people so scared of age differences with two grown a** adults?Gosh. Never mind. Bye everyone else. You can have it. I'm going to go read the actual book.
