I enjoyed watching her fight her way to a win. If she gets momentum she may be hard to beat because she has more self belief than most people.

Basically almost all players aren't playing their best tennis in their first or second tournament of the year. Considering that Emma just played two BJK Cup matches in the past 4 months, her performance was very good. Don't forget that she beat a 26th ranked player. Quite sure she will play better in the next match. ❤

This victory in the first match after 2 months against such a strong opponent is extremely important for Emma's self-confidence. She made many mistakes, but showed great willpower and resilience at crucial moments. Physically she is fine. May it continue like this.

I had Emma winning this match against a much higher ranked opponent, so pleased that she was able to get stronger as the match progressed. There will be much hype on the back of this win, but I trust that Emma is focused on her next opponent Amanda who will be nervous to face her. Whats with the food questions?. 🤟

@@whywhowhatwhere It's unreasonable to expect EMMA to play to her usually high standards, one must contextualise, it was her 1st competitive match since mid November, played no lead up matches, ergo, she is entitled to be a bit rusty, given all those handicaps she still beats the 26 seed in straight sets. BTW, her true ability became apparent as the match progressed, which would explain the 7-2 2nd set tie-break mauling !!

Megatalented. Still Underated because she is the prettiest on tour. Emma will win another few slams if she simply avoids clay. Ironically Wimbledon, her home slam is made for her. Good results here, second week very possible, avoid clay, play a full grass season, shell do plenty of damage. Then hit the US Open with huge confidence. Shell have the tour scared again. Her Tennis IQ is Top 5. They will never outsmart her.

@ Well, the first comment usually creates the athmosphere. Like MEGAtalented. If just Iga was 152 weeks as a no.1. Roddick, Federer & Co were saying that she is a centennial talent. And now we have then the supertalent Coco, who also is poised to win several GS’s…..I think it’s better to see and then judge, every player evolves and improves If they want to.

Here’s a question, as much as Im a big Emma fan myself, I’m also a big Katie Boulter fan. Katie is the no 1 British player, the 22nd seed, engaged to Alex DeMinaur and also got to the second round but unlike the 98 comments Emma has so far received re this post, Katie has only 4 comments so far, re her press conference. Why is that? Is it that having won a grand slam tournament once forever outweighs the other achievements of other players or is there some other reason for this discrepancy?? I’m curious as to people’s views on this??

ABBAsolutely, the fact EMMA won a major in a manner nobody else has (it isn't what EMMA did, it's about how she went about dismantling opponents with nonchalance), plus she has the biggest number of fans (compared to any other player, male or female). KB's biggest achievement (so far) is a WTA 500 or 2. One only needs listen to the reception EMMA receives whenever she enters proceedings, (it's tumultous) !!

Although Emma’s serve was unusually off today she still kept cool and won against a very dangerous player, winning ugly ? Last year she beat seasoned clay court players with ease in the BK Cup . Ignore the Naysayers and all the off season work will pay off.

You couldn't possibly know whether the toast is processed bread, it could easily be a gluten free, wholemeal multiseed, a rye or pumperknickle, no one outside her circle has the vaguest idea, they're merely speculating (as per usual). Solid Performance????? What BS !!!! Raducanu DID NOT WIN her match. Her opponent LOST the match. Her opponent played the better game. Her opponent had it all over Raducanu. Raducanu cannot take anything away from this last match except she was bloody lucky to be the winner of the match for all the points she was given, not from the points she won.

Peter your comment is indeed very strange. Emma won 2 tie-breaks, she was strong during the big points and played several winners. Indeed Emma has a very good tie-break record over the last year. In terms of giving points away, Emma gave away something like 14 or 15 double faults. Imagine the score if she'd served well.
