Chanel Trendy vs Chanel Business Affinity

Lovely to see you! I'm getting married in three weeks and re-watching your videos as a de-stress aid (even though I only own one handbag... and it's from Accessorize). I'm now in a financial position to buy luxury items, but I'm not remotely sure where to start and I've always been thrifty (I even bought my wedding dress on sale!) Thank you for making these things seem less terrifying / being so open about the process you go through before buying bags. Maybe I'll take the plunge (after the wedding!)

I have the first version of the Business Affinity that Chanel launched in the large size and it is balanced perfectly! The biggest differences in the first launch and the newer versions is that the original has leather pull tabs on the inner pocket, and it does not have feet. Mine is in black and has red leather interior :)

If I had a M/L I would totally do that.... I have a jumbo (or should I tell my husband I need a new flap bag 😍). The classic flaps are just so stunning- great investment pieces and just gorgeous.... but the BA is cute as! xxxx

i have the M/L and the business affinity- the business affinity fits more than the M/L and the outside pocket of BA is bigger. Plus I am 5”4 and the BA is the perfect crossbody length. I cannot wear M/L crossbody - chain is too short.

I Just bought the small business affinity in black a week ago and it does not fall over. I put my phone(apple 5S)in the back outside pocket and put my small wallet, small cosmetic case, keys, compact, riding glasses in the main compartment. I only put tissues and mirror in the front zippered pocket and still have no problems with it falling over. I also bought the chevron coco handle earlier this year and prefer it to the trendy. I, too, do not like the gold bar and CHANEL written on top. I feel in time his bar will be dated and scratched. It is a beautiful bag but for the price coco handle will be more of a classic.

Yeah new video. I like the trendy more actually because of how you described it...its more like classic flap that you can actually put things in I find the classic so small in the medium size plus you can take the strap to off. Something about the whole bag not being quilted turns me off the bag.

The great thing about the business affinity is that you can use it ; why buy a bag if your not going to use it. With phone sizes now a days you need that bigger outside pocket.

Maybe you can find a vintage one that isn't super over-priced? I was lucky to find mine last summer when they were still relatively cheap...although the strap I just got for it was ridiculously expensive!! I just think that the saddle bag is so unique and has a special place in "handbag history" if that's a thing, haha. Not to be enabling or anything :) You have such an amazing collection too!! Hi Emma - I have the black business affinity for 6 months but find that there are tiny scratches (not deep) on the surface of the front of the bag on the front zippered pocket. I do not have long nails nor do I wear a ring on my right hand which I use to open the bag. I just bought the same bag in light beige but don’t know if I should keep it. Does your pick one have any slight scratches on the front pocket?? I know it is caviar but as a seasonal bag you can tell it is not the same as the classics.

Honestly I haven't got anything on it at all. Its not a bag I'm particularly delicate with but just from trying them on in store there does seem to be a variation in quality from one piece to the next so hopefully that's just a one off on your black xx
