I have 1yo daughter .. she is allways at 19:00-20:00 in the Bett . But , she wakes up every night about 1:00 or 2:00 and she is restless and won't sleep and I have to hold her in my hands about half hour or one hour . Sometimes few times in the night and I am very tired .. where ist my mistake ? She is not hungry , because I give to her every time a milk , she eat that but ist not better . Whats wrong ? She needs to go so early in Bett because she wakes up every day at 06:00 or 07:00 . She needs to go in Kindergarten . And sleep just one time , at 12:00 .

In my neuroscience class we were taught that white noise isn't good for the brain, especially at night. During the day it may be ok but definitely not at night because the brain needs quiet to clear it's clutter and white noise blocks this process.

First time mama here with a 2 week old, and I just wanted to say that all of you are doing great and the fact that you’re watching this video proves that! Try everything you can until something works, and if that changes, just try something else until that works too! PLEASE remember to take care of YOUR needs as often as possible. If there are dishes in the sink but you can sneak in a 20 minute nap while your baby sleeps, please do that! Take a hot shower, massage your feet, lay in silence, listen to music… come back to a place of neutrality and peace within yourself. We will never get these moments back and the next chapters will always have their adjustments. Trust yourself and great advice like this video. You are doing great!!

Omg my mother in law kept waking the baby up when she came over because she thought the baby needed to get fed and wanted to play with the baby. I told her she shouldn't wake the baby up forcefully but she still went on and woke her up... Of course that night became a nightmare. Baby was fussy the entire night because she was awake for so long throughout the day 😐 Like I just don't understand why people wouldn't listen to the baby's parents. It's not like they're going to be responsible for the baby during the difficult moments.

I guess I'm doing something right. My 15 week old has been sleeping through the night, for the most part. We get ready and are in bed around 10:30. The earliest he wakes is 6 but often doesn't wake until 7 or 8. He has very clear sleep cues and he goes for naps in his crib, in close to the same environment as at night. It's very dark and we have an air purifier that makes great white noise. I got very lucky, he's such a good sleeper!

Do you have to wake up your baby during the night to feed him/her ?
@jennibee2307
@jennibee2307 3 жыл бұрын
@@larissatorres8624 I let him sleep. He eats right before we go to sleep and then when he wakes up. Today he woke up at 6:30. He's a super happy baby so a lot of the time he'll let out a cute little scream like I'm ready for food now Mom! He eats every 2.5 - 3 hours during the day. When he was a newborn he would wake up every few hours but it got longer and longer as he got older. I double checked with the pediatrician at his last appointment and he said as long as he's gaining weight, let him sleep. 😀

Some of these vary from baby to baby. Concerning early bedtime: without forcing him to sleep, after the first month I started giving him regular baths at 8:30 pm, then a feed and then bedtime. He would immediately fall asleep afterwards and sleep for at least 4 hours, followed by a quick feed and change and another 4 hour sleep. Worked out pretty good at night. Around 2 months he started sleeping for 5-6 hours after bath time, followed by 2-3 hours after that.

Thanks for the video, unfortunately some of the these points including the ‘tiredness’ phase’ or tiredness signs stuff doesn’t really resolve a lot of the issues we’re facing. They also seem to conflict with advice around babies hungry signs. We recognise yawns, playing with ears and rubbing eyes etc as signs of tiredness, that and being super quiet and disinterested, but as soon as we put him down and within 2-5 mins later he’s fussy again. We let him wriggle around in the hope he’ll drop off to sleep, but he gets himself into such a tizzy. The cycle repeats

But the baby doesn't know it's night, so why would he sleep longer? During the day, I weave in some "play" time between sleeps which I don't do at night. Is that really it? At night are we trying to just sleep-nurse-sleep-nurse?

We have a 10 week old and been sleep training her for over a week. In just a few days we saw huge improvements. She sleeps 8-9 hours straight at night and wakes up for a feed and then goes back to sleep. We don’t rock her for hours anymore so my husband and I got our nights back. Naps are still tricky but its gotten so much easier putting her down. I just try to follow her wake windows and keep notes on her naps. I always put her to bed drowsy while awake. We share a room but it’s not a problem since we use blackout curtains and a sound machine.

Over time I saw that as he was awake longer during the the day, he went to sleep earlier at night. It was like every extra 15 minutes awake lead to a bed time that was 15mins earlier. Finally at around 5 months he started sleeping at around 6pm, it was like a light switch, boom, asleep. But no one ever said that it was normal! I needed to hear it was normal

Having a half Thai baby and also living in Thailand, the crazy things I’ve heard from my wife’s parents say for home remedies is um... Well, let’s just say as an American they are a bit odd... To say the least. Thank god for KZbin and your channel, I’ve watched a few of your videos and it’s nice to know I’ve picked up on a few things just on trial and error, but the sleep cues you mentioned make a whole lot of sense especially the staring off into the distance and pulling their ears/scratching their face as I’ve just fought getting my 6 week old daughter to bed for the better part of an hour. I thought the scratching her ears meant she was hungry or gassy, but now I know that it probably means she is tired. Thank you again

Oh man 😂 my parents told me to keep the baby up during the day to fix her internal clock…. Man, those days were rough. Over tired babies don’t sleep well. 😂 I go off of her cues now. She used to wake up every 30 minutes-2 hours. When I switched to just going off of her cues it slowly improved… Started with 3-5 hour stretches. Now it’s around 7 hour stretches. Last night she had her first 11 hour night! She’s gonna be 3 months old on the 13th :)

@shegardenssometimes
@shegardenssometimes 3 жыл бұрын
@@Dokas80s No, I don’t. But I feel okay doing that because she is a good weight. She’s also just about 3 months now. When she wakes up she’s in a good mood and she has a big 7 oz bottle. And that’s good for her and it works for us so your baby might be different! But also during the first month I was definitely waking up every two or three hours with her to make sure she ate. Also my baby was/is very vocal when she has a need. When in doubt, you can totally check with the pediatrician 😄

Great video! We now have a 10 month old and learned a lot of this the hard way. One thing we did ‘right’ though was the late bedtime. People were surprised our son didn’t go to sleep ‘for the night’ until 10/11 but we knew that was right for him because his evening nap was maybe just 30min then back awake. It was that 10ish sleep that got longer and longer (3 to 4 to 5 hours…)

Oh and I want to add, I love the video comment that there is no sleep schedule at this age. I wish i never looked up a 2 month old sleep schedule which made me feel bad we just couldn’t get there. They would say things like 2 hour naps a few times a day when our son never napped more than 40min in those first months. We didn’t get nap consolidation until closer to 4/5 months I believe.
@EmmaHubbard
@EmmaHubbard 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! 😁 Sounds like you read your little one perfectly. You're right it is the first sleep at night which gets long (consolidates first) and the bedtime shifts earlier at around 3 months. I also found it so much better when the bedtime shifted earlier.😂

I guess i have good instinct. My twins have separate beds, nothing in them do they are not distracted, we turn off the light late in the evening, we dont pick them up as soon as they open their mouth to cry, just stay beside the bed and wait to see if there is such a need, they sleep very well at night since they were 4 weeks old. :)

The rem sleep makes more sense to me mow thank you ! I was too quick to pick up my baby too and then wondered why she'd only nap for 10-20 mins and sleep for 2-3.5 hrs. Hopefully ill have a happier more well rested baby after this. Also is there anything you can share aout babies sleeping with their eyes partially open ? At the right time, 10 weeks and son here, it’s 3am, breastfeeding and baby is sleeping again. Since few days he wakes up suddenly and screams with big eyes and tense/uptight hands/arms. Have to calm him. It seems like he has a nightmare or he is scared of something. Also happen from a loud noice while he sleeps. It’s in that moro reflex it seems. Couldn’t found something in A book. I think he is in a phase right now. He came 2 weeks before birthdate, so he is actual in that 8 week phase I think. I still have struggle to identify the move of the arms and legs in a happy mood or he gets tired or hungry. When he I gets hungry he makes little fist and push arms, and 1 leg. But when looking at Mobile moves almost the same, even if he is tired. Thanks als always. Really love your vids. 🇩🇪❤️

Hi Jana, sounds like you are working out his cues. It does take a while to work them out and as they get older they change slightly! I would also assume the loud noise is activating the startle reflex (moro reflex) - a white noise machine and swaddle helps to dampen the moro reflex. Hope this video was helpful😁

My 3 month old only takes 45 minute naps and wakes up every 2 hours at night still. So when you say to leave them for a bit when they start to fuss, how long do you suggest? How long will he cry for before I know he is just up and needs me versus him just fussing between sleep cycles?
@Xebeth

For me ( my son is 9 weeks old ) i was picking him up as soon as i heard something and i decided to change that about 3 weeks ago, i will put him to bed at around 20h30 and if i hear him cry i will let him cry for about 5 minutes, if he is still crying after 5 minutes i will pick him up and try to sooth him back to sleep for another 5 minutes ( wich usually he does go back to sleep for another 2 hours ) if he is still crying at this point then i will go and change his diaper, feed him but he will rarely stay awake more than 40 minutes at night. I try not to stimulate him at night ( keep light turned off, try not to talk to him as much as i would during the day, do not attemp to play with him ). I concider myself very lucky because as soon as i started doing this he is sleeping more and more at night he now sleeps from 20h30 or 21h until 0030 and goes back to sleep from 01h00 until around 5 and 7.

We have reflux problem with our little one (4 weeks old). You can tilt her crib or elevate the mattress by 2-3 inches. Some of the cribs can be adjusted else put a paper folder (ordner) under mattress. That helped our baby. Also if you breast feed then please watch what you eat, as this also causes baby to have reflux issues. I hope that helps. And for better sleep - you can try white noise, my baby like this car noise kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIDYlJd7gsebf80si=sRP5FipP8IL0m66X
