The precision from all these players! And damn, that bass solo had me floored.

This just followed my feed and I wasn't watching. I swear I thought it was the Oscar Peterson trio. Beautiful work!

Yeahhhh! I was there!! Emmet and the trio killed it, Oscar would be proud 🥲

For sure, and so would Ray Brown (Philip definitely listened to him on bass)!

Oscar? Not getting your steins mixed up? Oscar *was* influential getting it going, but "would be proud" probably fits better with Leonard, right?

Great comment concerning Oscar. You are a fan!! This guys speed required five year locked away in solitary practicing somehow he’s even more magic than that. Errol Garner steps in for a few licks

Without a doubt one of the Countries greatest Piano / Jazz and others they rock. Please tour!!! West Coast! Emmet Cohen I don’t who he is with but Don Was at Blue Note would love this, more the story of the Man and his writing and dexterity beyond comprehension. He will be huge everywhere soon. Please more everyday. He has the energy of an Ahmad Jamal in 1958 . ( Argo Live at Pershing) in Chicago and full of love and Passion for his audience and work. One a day will is insurance will stay. Thanks

The arrangement is pretty close to the Oscar Peterson version on OP's West Side Story album. Kudos to Emmet for working it out without making it an exact duplicate.

Omg. A tribute to arguably the greatest jazz album ever. Please do the Jet Song :)
Emmet most definitely borrowed from Oscar Peterson, clearly in the introductory parts and during the last minute of this piece. Emmet is SO incredibly talented and respectful of musical legends that I am 100% sure he played this as a tribute to Oscar and told the audience this. Oscar's West Side Story album from the 1960's is absolutely terrific and is available on You Tube. My favorite part of that album is Oscar's version of "The Jets Song."
