You as a grown adult make your own decisions and you have to be held accountable for your part in the matter. She didn't pull the trigger but she definitely didn't stand up for the truth. She allowed grown men to take matters in their own hands (yes, not knowing what they would do). Even after knowing how it turned out, she down played the involvement of her people. She obviously felt the need to be heard and had to write a book. She had her opportunity in the beginning to do the right thing and tell the truth. She made her choice. She has to live and will die knowing her role. Still, her little circle will continue to do the only thing they know to do... make excuses and deny. They could have all just said the truth and moved on. Instead the truth comes back to haunt them again in 2022.

The Emmett Till murder was brutal. Now the last of the perpetrators is dead. It’s time to move on. It was 68 years ago. The important thing to remember is Emmett Till’s name will always be honored and remembered. A school has been named after him as well as streets. The murderers are the ones who will be forgotten, so in the end Emmett did get justice.

The unfortunate reality is that it is far too late to hold anyone accountable for what happened to emmett. The fact is that Emmett till was murdered by two southern redneck jackasses that listened to the claims of a lying bitch. Whats done is done and the time has passed. The fact that this case is still upsetting people almost 70 years later is a good thing. The corrupt nature of how this case played out is just a reminder of how shady things can be even in a court of law. The system failed back then, and im sure its still failing to this very day. Any consolation that any accountability would be held was gone long ago. This is just a poor reminder that nothing was done. I even throw in the emmet till antilynching act in that as well. It's an insult to an already sorrowful situation to throw that into the public 67 years later after the murder. Mammie was absolutely right about having the open casket. It still has such an impact all these years later, and I hope carolyn bryant took that image of what she caused straight to hell with her.
