My evaluation is in the decrease of views on their videos and music and from headlining 2011 Allstar tour when they were absolutely massive compared to them opening for AILD and After The Burial in 2019, And Emmure did not pull a big crowd while playing compared to the other 2 bands. Also I know many people who used to listen to them and now don’t. It’s a fact they’ve gotten smaller like many bands in the genre.

Emmure had a downfall for a bit mainly due to the members quitting because of Frankie. I personally believe fame got into Frankie’s head and how it changed his personality. After the members left, Emmure continued to stay strong. Look at Yourself was amazing but Hindsight was okay but not the best.

I took a break from it, started a career in traditional country music but have recently come back to Emmure and have been oddly obsessed with them. There's a strange draw to them. Grew up in Murfreesboro, TN. Kinda funny Danza are my local band in tiny middle Tennessee town but also happen to be my favorite band of all time in regards to mathcore/djent/whatever you'd like to call Danza. And go on to be such legends and so beloved. Shame they didn't get the love they deserved before breaking up. I say all this to say I wish more people would do retrospectives on the band. They influenced basically everything we have today but the masses just don't know.

Emmure i think are probably one of those bands whose massive influence in metalcore goes underappreciated. Imo, Emmure walked so tbat the nu-core wave could run. Like it or not, they truly are a staple in modern metal.

Slave To The Game is honestly one of my favorite Emmure albums. The Complete Guide to Needlework, Goodbye To the Gallows, The Respect Issue and Slave To The Game are all perfect albums with no skips. All the other albums have a song or two that I skip over Excellent video and content my guy

I saw Emmure at a National Guard Armory in the summer of 2007 and there were probably 50 people there. We hung out with them for a little while and they were really cool. They wanted to leave because no one was there but thankfully they stayed and it was an awesome set. The next time I saw them was several years later at Mayhem and I think they were headlining the side stage and that's when I realized how big they had gotten.

I hated emmure until i saw them live. They werent headlining but they stole the show. Before the show i met frankie because he was working the merch booth ( this was during the eternal enemies tour ). He was also the nicest guy and i wasnt even sold on them at that point. Now i will always ride for emmure, they're completely in their own lane and bring an energy that is unrivaled. It was sad to see the lineup change but the replacements are doing a great job in their own regard ! Only thing i wish is that we got more sadder songs with the new lineup( in the vein of m.d.m.a and we were just kids )

Emmure was my very first heavy metal I ever listened to and every since then I’ve been into a lot of heavy metal bands… I got into emmure because my mom passed and I went into a deep depression and was on the verge of ending my life until I heard “Sound wave superior” and every since I’ve gotten into heavy metal bands it helps with my depression and anxiety, Hell I even got the bands name tattooed on my chest so you can say they saved my life…. Really enjoying your content sir and great video. From a technical standpoint I get why many disliked Emmure at the time, they were hardly shredders, but it was absolutely mostly metal hipsters with their "All music is shit, except the stuff I like" attitudes and Emmure was just the trending band to hate in that scene. Their success however speaks for them, and its great that the metal hipster haters club have moved on to whatever band is currently "cool" to rant about. This band deserves all the success they worked so hard to achieve.

I dont remember what it was exactly, but i heard from like 3 different people saying the lead singer from Emmure was a prick and yadda yadda yadda, but i remember i loved the Gallows album and Speaker for the Dead, so when i heard they had a new album in 2018/2019, i went out and bought the cd. Fuck what people say, i jammed it and grooved it. It wasnt as good admittedly, but i wanted to support a band i dug, so i bought the cd, fuck the haters. After watching this video, I now like Emmure and the lead singer 10x as much, so thanks Yan, your video has successfully made the impact you sought out to achieve- im gonna end up watching all ur vids all the way through (rn im only at like 6 or 7) but they're all great. I fķn love ur honesty and your passion for metal and passion for passionate metal players for passion and truth's sake period. This channel is a great idea for keeping metal alive and real. Emmure doesn’t get enough credit for pioneering an entire sound. IMO they influenced a lot of the beatdown genres we have today. And they’ve always been a band that just really truly did not give af. I know a lot of bands say that but Emmure truly embodies it. Frankie is probably one of the first ppl in the scene to get “cancelled” 😂

Always been a big fan of this band but didn't realize how more standard early metalcore their very early tracks were. Awesome to see how they progressed to a signature sound. I got into whole br00tal scene around 2007-2008ish in high school. People made fun of how "simple" it was but yet I've almost never heard of a band with this much groove and nobody still quite sounds like them. Frankie gets a lot of heat too but I don't think he was ever truly a bad guy like you mention. My favorite song after all these years is Chicago's Finest (I'm biased) and MDMA. That MDMA video was like perfect after several breakups lol. Every single album had a bunch of songs you could blast in the car. I wish I would have gone to more shows but I've seen them live 2 or 3 times with different members. I remember fan girling when I got to talk to Frankie for a second or two. But you're so right about how for whatever reason in the scene, people either HATED them or LOVED them, like there was no nuanced view. The "metal" elitists really hated them because they tended to like bands that wanked to complex riffs and to them Emmure songs were just one long giant breakdown. But if people can love Slam bands for some sick grooves, then I don't know how Emmure wouldn't count either. Like, they're songs just flowed so well where you could bounce the entire time at a show. As a band though, kinda sad to know the members weren't quite as on good terms, so you kinda saw them and go and I never thought too much about them. But their new guitarist is a beast and fits them band PERFECTLY.

Frankie was really cool to me when I first met him. He showed me a trick on how to easily get a cd out of its wrapper. I let my excitement get the best of me, and I said “ I love you man!” As I really look up to him- and his entire demeanor changed instantly. I understand how weird that must’ve sounded, but he was never nice to me again after that. Still a huge Emmure fan though and wish they’d put out a new album!

I'm 23 and I started listening to metal and stuff from the core scene since I was like 8. I remember growing up, Emmure was HATED. Like, the amount of hate they got was insane. They would drop a record and people would almost immediately start talking shit online. It was all because of Frankie. He was a massive dick, which put the band in the spotlight even though it was for the wrong reasons. Their crowds were always older, their fans were not dicks but they definitely were a ride-or-die type of fanbase. It was crazy. It wasn't until I grew a bit older when I opened up to more bands, and I decided to give Emmure a try. I think I must have been 17 or 18. Holy fuck I realized why people liked them so much. The shit that bands like Sworn In, Alpha Wolf, and those breakdown-core bands do, Emmure was doing it back in the MYSPACE era, with a twist of Nu-Metal to it (which I really love btw). I never realized how ahead of their time they were until I truly started to listen to them. I definitely did not agree with Frankie's attitude, but if you put that aside the band is insane. I definitely gained massive respect for Frankie after he went on twitter to apologize for a bunch of shit, and how he admitted his fragile ego got too much on the way of his life. Made me become a hardcore fan, and been one ever since. I can't wait until they tour again. Joshua Travis joining the band has been one of the sickest things to happen to Emmure. If their music was sick already, Joshua Travis style brought them to another level.

Really enjoyed this video. I've been binging your myspace videos and it's criminal how little subs you have. You make incredible videos and deserves SO much more. I'm not gonna pretend they have some kind of flawless discography but the potential was definately there on certain tracks from speaker of the dead, slave to the game, and the very much hit or miss eternal enemies...at this point, i am conflicted with the current state of the band. Look at Yourself was the first emmure album that was great from start to finish. With Josh Travis at the helm, what they could accomplish is huge. Their last record, hindsight, was a huge pivot in the wrong direction. It had some great moments in certain songs.... which is what could be said of the old releases... I'll always stay tuned into this band

Hey bro, how come you didn't mention the fact that at one point basically the entire band, except for Frankie, left and were replaced, with one of the new members being the legend Josh Travis. Seems to me like that's a pretty important part of their history. Just wondering man, great video regardless.
