Emmy, I love how considerate you are towards all the cultures. You make sure to never offend any races or cultures and you always have very detailed descriptions about each snack that really makes me feel like I can taste what you're eating. I'm 14 and you would never think I would enjoy food tasting videos but I really do! It's so interesting to see snacks from different cultures. It's awesome! Thanks Emmy!!

I would never recommend eating canned Indian sweet meats (misthi). They're never as good as homemade or restaurant/mishthi shop versions and often they're quite shoddy in terms of quality. Savoury snacks, on the other hand, are perfectly fine off the shelf.

Gulab jamin in a can though is pretty cool. I mean think if you had some kind of emergency and were stuck with only packaged foods--- it'd be AWESOME to have canned jamin, even though yes of course they are much better when your grandma makes them :)

I love her reaction to the ragulla; it's exactly what my Korean friends looked like when they tasted one for the first time. We ended up dividing a single rasgulla into four quarters so four of them could eat a piece each, haha. Also, it was also really nice to see that she essentially managed to translate Khatta Meetha perfectly when she first ate it; she said it was sweet, which is meetha, and then that it was sour, which is khatta in Hindi. ^^ And the fact that she realised one of the main purposes that namkeen serves, i.e. to be had with alcohol (chakna).

Hi Emmy! My package for you is almost complete. Will be sending it out soon! I had included a few things that were in this video, so I am going to replace them with other things. I also wanted to add that Khatta means sour and meetha means sweet in Hindi. So the Khatta meetha mixture is sour and sweet. Rasmalai is served in a thickened and flavoured milk based concoction, flavoured with saffron, almond and cardamoms. Also Bhujia and Kashmiri mixture is lovely with beer and other liqour and often served with alcohol in bars and restaurants. And Kurkure has many more flavours too.

Hi, thank you for a very nice video. Quick tip, actually, a few; both rasgulla and gulab jamun have a much thinner sugar syrup. Due to packaging issues (there was a major court case involving preservatives vs shelf-life and its impact) the company decided to thicken the sugar syrup. Ideally, the syrup for rasgulla is mostly water, a general rule of thumb is to empty out the can in a large bowl, and mix equal parts of chilled water and canned syrup, then soak the rasgullas for 30 min. The rasgullas expand and the texture becomes better, not to mention less sweet. Its generally served as part evening snacks, cut into quarters. For gulab jamuns, 1/3 water, 2/3 syrup, soak, and before serving warm the entire thing in the oven. Its basically a warm dessert. [PS: substituting the 1/3 water with brandy makes it a perfect winter dessert]

+LotusEater Yeah I don't think you were complaining or condescending in the least. The tinned sweets are terrible, coz they are so sweet n sticky! and the tinned rasmalai is a joke coz its supposed to be soaked in milk and not sugar syrup. So I agree with u. Btw the person you were talking seems to be a troll as he purposely annoyed u and then deleted all his comments and now it looks like you're talking to yourself :P lol

I can't watch most ASMR videos because they don't do anything for me. I think I might start watching her though. Plus, we have an Oriental market nearby, and I've been curious about some of the snacks they sell, but scared to try them. I can get an idea from her videos, now.

@@fawkesontheroll8594 i have been to both and they're not like 2 different countries at all. Each state in india has its own distinctions but there isnt really that "north-south divide" like she is making it out to be. stupid concept it is.

You have most of the snacks with tea/coffee and help yourself with a spoon. Also Gulabjamuns(the brown ones) are consumed a bit warm and Rasmalai (the last sweet) is consumed cool/cold. The Rasmalai you had was very different because authentic Rasmalai is soaked in sweetened (and saffron) milk seasoned with several dry fruits(cashews, pistachios, almond & cardamon). PS: You have awesome hair.

Hey Emmy! What a great video! I'm so glad you enjoyed the snacks from India. I actually recommend going to an Indian sweets store to try these desserts fresh (and warm) :). Also a fact just in case it was concerning anyone, the reason Indian desserts are so sweet is because the body craves it after a spicy meal. A lot of Indian meals are spicy as you may know, so these desserts are amazing after eating something hot. In fact, when eating from western countries (or restaurants) a lot of Indians don't want want them. So if you try them try eating a ghost pepper before it, then you'll enjoy it more XDD

If you read the instructions for the canned desserts ... you have to take them out of the can into a bowl, add 400ml water to dilute the syrup and warm it in a microwave. Gulab Jamun can be eaten warm, while the other two are eaten cold. AND for rasmslai ... you add 400 - 500 ml of milk than water to dilute the syrup.

+emmymadeinjapan .....I think you should try some other stuff too like,Jalebi ,Gajar ka Halwa ( made from carrots) and many more. The Indian Culture and Civilization is ancient so most of the Items that you were Eating(specially Sweets) are usually for snacks and not for a proper meal.........Please try one 2 items I've mentioned....I'm sure you'll like it........And,yes Take the Gulab Jamun in a small bowl with some syrup and heat it in the Oven.....Gulab Jamuns are mostly eaten when they are nicely Heated but do remember if the Gulab Jamun is too hot......Give it a little bit time to cool down as per your liking .. and,Thanks for learning about my Culture
