You are correct. I watched their cover of Enter sandman and was impressed that such young kids could be talented but... I just wasn't loving the vocals. Later i stumbled across their TEDX performance and was still iffy until I heard Survive. I didn't love it at first but I was blown away at the energy and passion in the last half of it... Next thing you know these ladies became my favorite band.

When the girls do their "woh-oh-oh" singing, they are using their voices as an extra instrument to fill out the sound where a larger group would have a keyboard or rhythym guitar. I think also, the girls really enjoy just harmonising together, which is why it's such a feature of their music.
@ryankieth16753 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I always assumed they did it so often because they were singing in English but playing for Spanish speaking fans so they gave them something to sing along with in many of their songs.

Another mind blowing fact is how they can sing so well in their second language while so young and you would never know. I also have said that Pau was ahead of her sisters musically when they started but since they are all integral parts of the whole they succeed where others may have failed. They appeared at TedX the years before this and it was the most viewed of all the videos so they were invited back and again killed it up there!

Enjoyed your reaction/review to this song. It was one of my first experiences with The Warning and began my exploration of their catalogue. Can't wait to see them at Rockville. Thanks also for listening to your viewers about analyzing and comparing vocals as between Pau and Dany. I think that as they continue in their career, the ability to bring two strong vocalists to the performance with similar, yet individual, sound will be a unique advantage. It has been so since their early recordings. Obviously in QOTMS it allowed them to portray two different aspects/characters as the heroine/anti-heroine's personality split. Watching/Hearing them develop over time will be fascinating for me and, maybe, others who discover the band.

Been a little while since I fell down the rabbit hole of The Warning. It's fun to slip back down that rabbit hole. It's nice to see a Vocal Coach that is giving positive reinforcement and not just pointing out flaws. These young ladies have been badasses for while and will continue it now that they are older. Pau is an amazing drummer and a great role model to other girls. Instead of demanding they get respect because of being girls, they have taken it with hard work and caring about their fans. Also, Pau does a lot of the technical stuff (or did) for this and the Tour for their second album. She used a lot of tech to do transitions, any back up tracking they needed for additional instrumentals, and controlling lights though you dont see the lights/screen in this one. It's in the tour.

This one's still my favorite and it will be difficult to knock off, but betting against The Warning where it comes to music is...contraindicated. It's just plain fun. This isn't the performance that hooked me; I'm not sure what was (it might have been the trip to NJ to record the third album, aka the Survive video, because that's what they used as the backing music). It certainly is the song, though. As for problems such as Pau's broken stick: she was notorious for that, but she has changed her technique. As for other tech problems, they've had plenty of that. This was in 2017, so Pau was 15. But they've all had problems and soldiered through. Dany's acoustic guitar mic failed during Crimson Queen, so she sung a capella and it was a unique performance, rather than a goof. Ale has had problems such as her bass strap mount breaking off in concert (twice!) and she managed to keep playing until someone found her a stool. Once she missed one note, the other time she didn't miss anything. There was another concert that she inadvertently broke off her cable mount during the ending of this song in concert; she and Dany determined (while Dany kept playing) that there was nothing to be done, so Ale clapped into her (vocal) mic to propel the song along as best she could. Keep in mind that Ale was 12 at the time. They're all professionals' professionals.

You should check out the videos where Ale sings lead. It takes her a bit to hit her stride but the newer ones really shows the difference in her voice from both sisters and gives the songs a different feel. I don't recommend River's Soul, its a great song but doesn't do her justice in my mind.

Once Pau is drumming she lipsyncs. Just the a capella intro is her live voice. Also a recorded keyboard can be heard at the end of the song. In the other hand, the little flaws in Dany's voice reveal a real live singing. Is just impossible to have breath control while moving the arms that way.
@joeloveland62833 жыл бұрын
Actually, not so. They don't lipsync. She would often mouth the words as she drummed just to keep with the song. They have added some minor effects and small parts of instruments just to fill in as they can't play more than 3 instruments. Pau has developed incredible voice and breath control by sheer hard work. For example She regularly sings while running. They have only lipsticks once in a performance. Several years ago they did a spot on a TV show in Mexico, the station insisted on a lipsync, and it was very noticeable. These young women are true performers that only use technology to minor enhance performance. They can do a masterful performance without it.
