Every generation *thinks* that the music when they were young was the best. That being said one of those generations just might be right. Late 60s,,and 70s was just so epic and here's a great example. You don't get music like this anymore.

I see Glen D. Hardin and James Burton here… they certainly add to the icing that’s already on top here. Her voice is simply incredible.

And Emory Gordy on bass (also from Elvis’s band) Glen Emory were there for years. And what a combination of songs. Possibly my three favorite songs of the first two albums Oh, and let’s not forget Hank DeVito

I always wonder if Chris Hillman hadn’t told Gram Parsons about an unknown female folk singer in a bar and Parsons took her under his wing….would Emmylou have been discovered? What an amazing artist she became.

She has too much talent not to have become the superstar she is Gram or not.

She sang wonderfully on Bob Dylan's 1976 album "Desire". That performance alone would've put her on the map.

Doesnt get any better than this. This is the original gram parsons Emmylou Hot Band, the best ever country band IMHO. Later additions Ricky Scaggs and Albert Lee made it even better, if that is possible. Such a sad shame Gram died but boy did emmylou fill his shoes.

I don' t think I even heard of her at this time in my life. But I am not 100% sure. Mom played at lot of country back then. One of the big albums I recall being played around this time was Aerosmith Toys in Attic. My older brother played a lot of 70's rock back then, too. But I don't think he bought Toys in the Attic until 1977. I also remember Boston's first album. We played that so much, along with Kiss Love Gun..

I was at this show. James Burton was perfect. I also saw Albert play with Emmy, and whilst he was also superb, he’s not James.

You could say, alternatively, that James is not Albert - who, by the way, can play other instruments and sing, too!

I'm kinda glad James Burton left this band and was replaced by Albert Lee who fit this music so much better. Burton's way too antsy a player for this. He seems a little out of place while Lee just blended right in.
