Thanks for sharing this recipe and for the extra tips. If I ever try this, I will use the suggestions that you gave. When I was a kid, we used to snack on sugar cane almost every day. It grew wild in the mountains where I grew up, so i had access to an abundance of it. Sugar cane cleans the teeth. I had the whitest teeth and never had cavities as a kid. It's ironic how sugar cane in its natural form is excellent for your teeth, but in its granulated form destroys the teeth and causes serious diseases.

These are really cool. I’m not a vegetarian, but there is so many cool and creative techniques you see in vegan and vegetarian recipes, so I often find them very interesting. I think these might be good with a bit more of the chicken-like bullion powder, a bit of MSG, a tiny bit of liquid smoke. A bit of marmite/Vegemite mixed in maybe. Probably won’t taste like chicken, but probably taste good. Maybe in some of the inner layers smear a bit of seasoned coconut fat, sort of like a compound butter, but with a neutral tasting coconut fat. As leg meats tend to be pretty fatty. Ans probably make the tofu appear more juicy, but not as in water juicy.
