Oli said that he started writing this song last year after they released Ludens. It was initially about a Japanese superbug that had become heat resistant due to the climate change. It’s very interesting how it evolved into this great song. Also congrats on your band, now I’m a fan of yours!

Love hearing you break down the music side. I love this song so much I was feeling so bad yesterday then heard this and it's just like, catharsis. I love how bmth mix stuff up so you can never quite predict where the instrumental is going it jist gives me this feeling of exhilaration. I caught the interview on the radio and turns out they actually wrote this last year which is freaky. They're planning a set of 4 eps in the next year each sounding completely different with collabs etc. I think the first one is going to be a protest record and meant to be heavy. Excited for it.

Sempiternal is probably my favorite album of theirs and probably the last album where Oli did full on screams consistently. When I heard ludens I absolutely hated it but it grew on me and it's one of my favourites along with this one. They are growing as a band and we need to remember that. We always want them to sound the same throughout the years, with any band really. But they can't grow as musicians if they are stuck in the past. As always, great reaction guys 👌👌😊

Cool reaction, dudes! I was actually surprised at how much I liked this. I hadn't listened to BMTH since Sempiternal, and I wasn't a huge fan of their transition on later albums. This though, is great. I love how the main beat has a dirty kind of feeling to it. It compliments the guitars well. Also, I live for all the little electronic accents in the background. That very early 2000s, nu-metal-esque breakdown was a huge wave of nostalgia. The interlude after is fantastic as well. Overall, it seems like I've gotta give their post-Sempiternal material a chance.

Hey guys, just found you cause I was recommended this react vid by KZbin. Love bmth and love the song. Couple of points.....they've got a bunch of quarantine vids about how they made the EP and other bits, that'll explain some of the q's you have. Oli actually had the song written well before the virus struck, it just wasn't right. Then all this shit happened which put the 'post-human' project back(4 ep series), then they decided it was as good a time as any. Also the production was aided by the guy who did the doom soundtracks to the recent game,s, hence the apocalyptic/electronic/tech sound to it. I loved the ups and downs in the song and liked the way it kept you guessing but honestly - just wanted one brutal scream on 'war'. I'm off to check you guys out now.... 🤞

A little background on the song, it’s the guitarist from `Asking Alexandria`, and the lead singer of `Black Veil Brides`. It’s from a movie they did together in 2017, about a band who makes a deal with the devil to become famous. Sam from Game of Thrones as well as Drake Bell is in it too. Another fun fact: (seen someone else pick up on this elsewhere) - Parasite Eve is a old PS1 game (about destruction of humans) which they have been considering remaking. They confirmed they borrowed title from game on NME - www.nme.com/news/music/bring-me-the-horizon-parasite-eve-post-human-new-album-oli-sykes-interview-2694847. Goes with current trend of song, BMTH's Ludens was part of Death Stranding's OST, and had another song in WWE 2k20 apparently (both in 2019). Seem to have a thing for gaming OSTs at the moment!
