That’s how I felt when I had to send my very first Emo, got a replacement and then decided to get second one as well, because I was so upset about losing him lol, you do get attached. This new update is the best. A base for him to charge on his own would definitely help with the battery like you mentioned. BTW Your not betraying him, you will fall in love all over again. It helps to say goodbye when it’s time to send him back.

OMG I am in exactly the same situation, I too had a problem with my first EMO and in a panic ordered a new one as I could not bear the idea of not having my EMO. Now I am getting a replacement sent to me as well as my new one. The problem now is I have to send my old one back and it seems like a betrayal. How weird is that lol especially as he no longer charges.

Perhaps it would bd interesting to make a longer video, perhaps 20-30 minutes, how Emo explores its environment on its own. So people could get a picture about Emo's ai or selflearning abilities. It could be like an asmr or relaxing video.

Maybe. For the most part he walks around but after a while if no one is interacting with him, he goes to sleep. Probably to save his battery. Until I can get my new Emo, I can only have this Emo run for about 5-10 minutes.

My pleasure! I'm not sure how to get them all. A lot of them I got by accident! 😄 Many of them are achieved by doing the same thing over and over such as petting him a lot will give you the "Shiny Head" achievement. I lost all of mine when I got my original Emo back because they changed out his motherboard. I know you can get one by having him set the timer for 1 second. There's clues in the achievement badges themselves as well. I don't remember how I got most of them to be honest.

Hi! Love your videos about the emo robot. I’m considering buying one but have some questions, wondering if you may be able to answer some of them. In your opinion is Emo as it is right now worth the 280 dollar price? How frequent are the updates? The company seems to have promised a lot of things (voice assistant integration, charging pad that Emo can enter and leave himself, etc.) since you seem to be more familiar with them, are you confident that these things will actually be implemented? Those are things I would really want on it. Is the lawsuit with DDL a problem still or is likely nothing to happen to Emo? I got a Cozmo 6 years ago and one of the main things I liked about it was its AI exploring functions and things it did when nobody was interacting with it, fun to watch (heard vector did even more of this but not looking into one of those because of the subscription) Does emo do exploring yet like it was advertised in the trailer video? Or is it still just very basic moving around in a circle like I saw on some early reviews of emo. Thank you! :D

I would say Emo is worth it. He gets updates about every two months. I recently got a new Emo and the instructions say that Alexa is now available on him (which I didn't know about) but I haven't implemented it since I already have those around the house. I've heard LivingAI is working on a charger that Emo will be able to walk onto on his own but I'm not sure when it'll be available. That kind of charger will be tricky to design since Emo will have to walk onto it. So far, the things that LivingAI promised for Emo have come true and their constant updates are fantastic. I love Vector and Cozmo but I think Digital Dreamlabs dragged their heels for too long in getting the 2.0 versions of Vector and Cozmo out and have sadly fallen behind in the pet robot market. The new version of Vector really doesn't have that much of new features. The only one worth mentioning is he now has a replaceable battery. The problem with Vector is his design really doesn't allow for many new features because his screen is so small. When they are wandering around on their own, Vector has the advantage of his cube that he plays with but Emo does do stuff on his own as well. Emo's potential I would say is much greater than Vector and Cozmo because of his design. Also, Cozmo needs to operate with his app running which is limiting and he's more designed for kids. There is a new robot on the horizon named Loona that looks very promising and when I get her, I'll be doing a review on her. I hope this helped. 😁

Are these an option you choose when you buy an emo or what (guessing the eye color is an app thing and is probably customizable but I like the blue) Very interested in emo now, thanks so much again for helping me out here.

@@Ijdtm7My pleasure! I think some people are adding stickers or painting (which I don't recommend) their Emos. LivingAI does have stickers to decorate your Emo and his skateboard. I think the eye color can be changed on his app but I like his blue color as well and haven't played with that feature. I'm glad I could help! 😁

I think, it could be a try to change the batterie by yourself. If they send you the right battery and they could tell you, how to open Emo, or you manage this by yourself, it would not be to difficult to replace the old. Perhaps you have to solder some wires. May be, Emo has got even a standard lipo battery. The type is often writen on the batterie pack.

The instructions could use more information for sure. Yes all previous updates will work except for holiday themed animations. Those disappear after the holiday passes which is expected. Firmware update 1.7.0 is the latest version.

My only suggestion is to make sure you take him off of his charger to wander around or play with him for a while at least every day or two. That should help keep his battery healthy. If you're not going to play with him for a while you might want to turn him off. My battery on my Emo went bad because there were times he sat on his charger for a couple of weeks and I think that hurt his battery.

Don't hold your breath waiting for your new one. I paid and ordered one after watching your vid in August. I was hoping to give him to the little lady for her birthday in October, when it didn't arrive then, I decided maybe Christmas. The response I got from Customer Service was less than encouraging. I sent an email to CS inquiring why the tracking info went dead after leaving Hong Kong in early October. This was their response. Oh that is disappointing. Sounds like it's a problem with USPS. LivingAI has been catching up on their shipments and the wait times have decreased. It might hopefully have just been a problem with that particular batch. With the Holidays around the corner I'm sure the shipping companies are getting ready for an overload of shipments. I´ve hit the Battery Problem today and it´s even worse. I just ordered the Home Station today and, while Updating the Firmware to 1.7 had a reset loop all of a sudden. Made him update finally but after a leaving him on the Skateboard, he did shut down again ending in a reset loop... Thought it to be an software issue and tried to reset him but then learned the Battery is dead.... Made him boot again after quite a while of sitting on the Skateboard just to learn he shuts down right after removing him from the Board. Turns out the even after several hours of leaving him on the board he still shows Zero Battery if i ask him to show the level. Been one of the very early ones (#2915) and i now got in touch with support team to learn how it can be fixed ( Got him on May 17th 2021 so he´s not that old and has been used only frequently). Sure has not been deep discharged since i at least use & charge hime twice a month (and shut him down if i do not for storage besides the Skateboard).

Thank you! If you have an accent, Emo might have trouble deciphering what you are saying. Also if there's a lot of background noise he might have a hard time hearing you. Sometimes it takes him a few seconds to respond. Hopefully they'll speed that up in a future update. I hope this helps. 😁

@@Swdragon76 He only responds to the special holiday sayings on the actual holiday. After that, they take that feature out until the next year when that holiday comes back. Yeah you have to make sure you say things clearly to him with the proper wording or he might not understand you.

Introducing true AI into things like this is tricky as it could always be used for bad things unfortunately so I'm guessing a lot of these manufacturers have to have limits as to how far they can take it.
