I feel like while this went well for the Brig in a lot of situations this is the kind of play you will start getting hard punished for outside of bronze/silver/gold. Over-aggression in silver is fine on brig because no one can land shots, once you get to plat and above you are gonna get annihilated for this kinda play.

Oh, absolutely. Many of the antics this Brig was getting away with would get me slaughtered (Diamond) and there's no two ways about it. They were getting away with it because silvers can't aim that well, and lack target priority pretty much entirely.

Even in bronze/silver this stuff will get you deleted if you're not being baby-sat by your second support. The amount of healing and attention this Brig got from their Lifeweaver is extremely abnormal in low ranks and even in Bronze/Silver this playstyle is a throw without it.

I found you can play aggro as support until diamond. Plat will punish you to an extent but Diamonds will take your head off in seconds.

i feel like its important for ALL of us to remember that just because the other team was bad and/or we got away with stuff doesnt mean we played well or that our play style will be successful over time. this brig is doing some good things, but there are also a lot of things that are successful for them only because they're in a low rank. if they want to climb, they have a lot of important things to work on. 2:30 is a perfect example. tunnel visioning on an elim means you forgot about positioning and died unnecessarily. 14:31 proof that the other team was just terrible: if you had been facing a halfway competent team, you would have been deleted here. you just completely turned your entire back on them while frontlining for your whole team. you would fall over for that if the enemy team knew how to hit shots lol

I think this brig can learn a lot from natural cover and how to apply pressure safely. For example see a corner with a short sight line. That corner should be your tank's and your area. If they're going to peak they're not going to do it for free. Even if you do lose the poke battle you retreat back to cover and reset. If you do win the poke battle try to finish off the enemy team and try to take the next corner with a short sight line. The idea is your trying to threaten the enemy team in a way that keeps you in an advantageous position. If you just run at them in the open they're just going to shoot you down or shoot you down as they retreat.

The one thing I would like to note as a Brig main this season Ram is heavy counter to you and getting close to a good Ram is a death sentence. Yeah other tanks can also counter Brig but there are many tanks you can just beat up with no care. Besides this route 66 is a great elevation map for brig and using the high ground to poke the enemy and play from cover is necessary as you go up ranks. Also save shield bash for running away its really useful.

As a masters brig, there's a lot to work on here, but I'd just give them 2-3 things to work on here: 1. DPS brig is definitely a playstyle that's viable for ranking up (and honestly from like bronze-diamond and maybe higher probably the optimal playstyle to rank up) but you really don't want to do it when they have dive (you need to protect your support) or ram nemesis form/jq axe (in any higher rank they'll be using them on you as soon as they realize you dps) 2. Usually if you're trying to dps someone try to do your best to make sure it's a 1v1 (note that if anyone has LOS of you, in higher ranks like probably at least plat it won't be a 1v1 because they'll realize they can focus you), or if not at least make sure to keep bash and play near an area where you can get behind cover with just bash 3. Honestly just look around more to make sure everyone is at high enough hp to play aggressively so that you're not the only one able to play aggressive

This is bonkers, I'm a silver 2 Brig and in just about all the situations I saw in this match I would have been instantly killed. You need to stop going for the tank as well. There was a kiriko and that ramattra and you went for the ram who will easily outdo your damage and ram will kill you in like 2-3 hits. You cannot get away from him either.

This player has balls of steel to go face to face with Ramattra. I'm in bronze 1 and the sight of Ram scares me if I happen to play Brig. You do not want to be anywhere near his nemesis form. Even rally cannot outrun it. This Brig just got matched against a very unaware, oblivious tank

as fun as it is to play brig like a rein, she isnt able to do what a tank does. with her good dueling potential, barrier, and easy to use repair packs, she's good at locking down key positions, like high grounds, and pocketing allies that are taking a lot of aggro, such as the target of their dive or an ally flanker ask they engage. as more of a brawler, she's good anti-dive, but also synergizes WITH dive just because of how powerful repair packs are. her default playstyle is to stick with her other support and make an indestructible backline, forcing enemies off high ground and other key positions, and denying their push so that they waste time/CDs.

One thing Emongg didn't bring up... This person needs to learn to shield dance and learn when to shield bash disengage/whip shot to distance. Right now they're kind of just running in and swinging and getting lucky. There's a lot more to Brig's movements then people think.

This was a real treat! :D I had brigs like this in low plat. I love them and hate them at the same time .My whole team is dying cus I can’t out heal that much damage while my brig is in the enemy backline getting punished for their play… many things work in lower ranks but the higher you get, the more you get punished for it. Positioning is key! I had one game as ana where my Bap kept me alive on highground while the enemy genji tried to dive me. He couldn’t kill me bc I was healing my Bap and he was keeping me up while our horse was on a Rampage under us on the point. If you have an ana on your team, please- protect them at all cost! For anyone interested, I tallied the armor packs, although there are cuts in the video so there could be a few more than I caught. There were 66 thrown in total. It was around the 61 packs mark that emongg comments on how it feels like they've only just hit double digits, which make sense imo because that's how it felt. There were times where they threw multiple at a time and the animation doesn't quite catch that, so it doesn't look like they're throwing as many., But yeah, 66 is not a lot. Or more importantly, there were many times when they could've thrown out packs but didn't. As emongg said, the uptime on the packs can be improved. And definitely the best thing to do/improve is to CONSTANTLY look around and check on all the teammates; basically do a quick glance, turn back and flail a few times, another glance, flail, etc. As he said, Brig's someone who can take a millisecond to glance at someone and throw a pack, and then return to doing damage (and proccing inspire). If you watch high level Brig play, it's crazy how well they do that.

I call this “2018 Brig” and it’s frustrating when they get away with it because this play style is so easy to punish but in lower ranks people don’t know what to do. Sometimes if I’m getting sick of seeing them up front not being punished, I’ll go Rien and kill them until they swap or decide to play back. I’ve had Brigs like this come at me as Junkrat and they’re the easiest 2-shot. And I’ll always comment in chat “this isn’t 2018, Brig”

When you're playing a hero that barely requires aim, and you're still stuck in silver... that SHOULD be telling you something. Brig is supposed to be played like a body guard... no issue with full agro if you're ALREADY up one person in the fight or the enemy tank is dead, but this playstyle is just suicidal and riding entirely on the benefits of inspire. If inspire were nerfed even a little, this kind of player would fall all the way to B5

I get why people hold down the melee button on Brig (especially when Sombra is in the game) but I find it so distracting. I feel like it makes you slower to react to things, you can't hear enemy footsteps, the enemy can hear you coming and you are less likely to pay attention to your teammates.

One thing I think would improve this Brig's gameplay a lot is this: stay away from the enemy tank! Unless you have friends that the tank doesn't, Brig shouldn't be anywhere near the enemy tank. If Ramattra is close enough to go Nemesis form and punch you, you're too close.

First of all, supports are not tankier than tanks. We just don't fall over in 0.000000001 seconds and are fighting back. Plus, Brig is a support tank hybrid, so of course she's bulkier than other heroes. Second, Brig is a bodyguard. Keep your second support alive, use your shield for your teammates, be aggressive but don't be the tank. In higher elos this playstyle will get punished hard. Don't throw out your packs willy nilly but also don't sit on them forever. Brig is a lot more than just swinging her flail, even if tanks and dps mains want to tell you she requires no skill

I can see why silver 4. I play around this rank, and and even here, playing Brig into your hard counters is a gamble. Like when the Brig was moving towards the Junkrat his burst damage should kill easily, but because he couldn't hit, he decided to back away. Junkrat could've easily wiped you out in 2-3 secs if he really tried. Truly there are moments I question my sanity if I am playing Brig into a Junkrat, Pharah, Bastion, or Ramattra because I don't have this player's gall to jump into their backline so often. They need to learn how to play more safe around corners if they want to climb and peel teammates more effectively.

It all depends on the reasoning behind going aggressive. She should have been rolled by the ram every fight but because he is letting her go in she can now take advantage of that. If you’re always playing like this and not adapting you will have really good games followed by really bad games. I don’t just want to blame the ram because it was really the whole team but he would have the easiest time dealing with her.

i honestly find Orisa better to go up against than Ram when playing Brig. Ram's got that punch-through-shields-thing which'll destroy you if you don't wait for his cooldown on it (and are playing aggressive). If the timing's right you can use Orisa to farm inspire off of, and it's easier to escape than Ram if you don't let your shield break and save your bash. it's nicer to go against a Winston/Doom/Wreckingball but i'd take an Orisa on the enemy over a Ram/Rein/Queen any day. Idk why it just works better somehow.

This game is not educational, team diffed makes anything look easy and you can play carelessly. Search "Awkward Unranked to GM" and check out his Brig video for a good guide. But you should also check out his Moira unranked to GM. She is far easier to play and carry with than brig in the metal ranks.

Brig has so little healing... like maybe it's a lot in numbers, but she's not gonna be saving anyone in a hell of a situation. Playing with quantity over quality support (and there's Sigma too, who's supposed to sit back all the time) makes for a very passive gameplay, and if the enemy team has Ramattra or Orisa with smth like Moira\Mercy both putting heals up their ass non-stop, you're gonna have to switch. Otherwise you're gonna helplessly watch with all your 2 teeny healypackies as all your teammates get pummeled by Ram😅😩

Brig ego vod. Hard to say what their weaknesses are overall since they're playing a weaker team they can outclass with brute force. Shield bash usage seems bad though. Trading the cooldown for chip damage on a tank is bad. Trading the cooldown to end up in the middle of 3 enemies is bad. Clearly not a silver 4 brig but hard to say where they're at without a vod vs a team that challenges them.

Gonna be real, but pretty much everything that was 'working' for this Brig was working because it's silver. If I played like this (Diamond), I'd get eviscerated. Absolutely destroyed. Positively dumpstered. The worst players in my lobbies would walk all over me if my Brig play looked like this. Like... Ram is basically a hard counter to Brig on direct engagement, but the Ram just wasn't responding to the Brig diving his backline. It's part of why so many people can't rank up despite feeling like they're doing well. A bunch of the junk you're getting up to is doing well because you're in lower ranks, where people can't aim and lack target priority, game sense, and good positioning. It's hard to identify this stuff, though.

Brig is the best DPS in the game. She doesn't do a lot of damage to individual targets, but the gets guaranteed hits, and if there are multiple opponents, she hits everyone in the room. Then she ALSO has some directed additional damage and CC. Then she ALSO has healing. And a shield. And a movement boost.

It's great that she won this match, but playing like this will not help her in the long run. Emongg did a good job of getting that point across. If he only praised her, that would miss the point of submitting the vid for spectating in the first place.
