@@eemfunnyasf Not really, I went up to gold 4-5(going back and forth between the two) from silver 3. That's how top500 works in the early season. You need to have 50 wins to be eligible for the top500, so the early season top500 is just diamond+ who grinded the wins. Later in the season, more people will get the 50 wins and it will go back to grandmaster/champion rank players.

I've got to be completely honest as someone who did this for the longest time, you're 1000% correct. And most the bronze players are just bad mechanically, this guy has decent mechanics like me but blames everyone else because he's just not playing correctly. He needs to get better game sense, but that's not the whole story. To be honest, he would probably still struggle in bronze because he would still be blaming his teammates. The way you get out of bronze with decent but not extremely good mechanical skill like this guy is to have decent game sense and help your team enough to allow yourself to make those plays while also having good positioning. He has the positioning of a potato sitting on the counter.

@@Princ3ssCai Assuming that the accounts are identical(same role/heros, queuing with the same people, same region/ping) then it's likely that you don't do anything detrimental but also don't make enough of an impact on the match so you sit at 50/50 win rate regardless of the rank. I also imagine that there is some difference in the way that you got those ranks, I.E each rank was achieved during a different season with a different rank curve. The most likely option however is that the accounts are not identical, and that there is some factor there that makes the difference.

I had a game recently where I was on Mercy and did 6k healing and almost 3k damage boost. our Kiriko did 14k healing 😅 now, this is definitely an abnormal game for me because in plat and diamond, I'm still going to be healing more than I should because healing can help mitigate my teammates' mistakes (primarily mistakes by the tank tbh). BUT the only reason I often have more healing than the other support, if they are going to die, will usually die before me, so I will be the only source of healing at times. I also don't need to aim and I can still heal people briefly when they leave my LOS/when I duck behind cover. but it is never because I think I'm the main source of healing or because I'm trying to heal a lot. it just happens. I wonder if this misconception is because many people just look at the scoreboard to see value and think a higher amount of healing means more value or that the higher amount of healing means they will be healed more when that really isn't how it works. AND they're playing with lower ranked Mercys lol they don't want a Mercy on their team healing them as much as those Mercys do. that's only what they THINK they want but they're also in low ranks. they don't know enough to know what they should actually want lol

I had a high plat-low diamond game couple weeks ago on dps where our mercy/brig was fuming at us for not focusing the enemy Zarya, keep in mind me and the other dps was playing genji and tracer respectively so that wasn't tracer's job and DEFINITELY not mine. When I relayed this info they said "tf ym not your job you're the dps" so I explained that our job was to kill their backline. They then proceeded to throw the game. Thankfully I'm back in masters again so I have more competent teammates but you can tell who the ones that get carried when they start talking strategy

So all 3 of us were running dive, Mercy was locked in *after* we locked our heroes. We were basically out trading backlines because they had a diveable comp and it won us first point in flash. I guess the tilt got to the supps in their gameplay tho because they started to die way more often and earlier by 2nd point which lead to the scenario in my comment Mercy swapping to literally anything else to help brig punish zar would've most likely solved that problem since we were all over her supports. She put herself at a disadvantage at one tricking her with our comp...and yes she's the first one who complained..lmao

TLDR: C.S.U. Communicate something useful. P.A.S. Provide a solution. I'm a silver DPS. The main problems down I see down here are a lack of understanding of a specific hero's function within a certain comp, a lack of overall game sense (angles, high ground, timing, coordination), and over taxing your supports, so they can't make offensive plays (being out of their LOS or taking a ton of damage bc of a lack of cover.... and then, blaming them..). Most of this could mitigated by good, informative comms, but I find that at this level, ppl don't comm to convey information. They comm to blame shift. Even if an accusation is correct, it isn't helpful and the person is probably going to leave, all but guaranteeing a loss. Provide a solution. If your Sombra is standing on main shooting the tank and dying on cooldown (yes, it happens..) ask them to target a specific target in the backline for you. Ask them to sneak from the left or right and dive with you. Ask them to sit invis in your own backline to peel for you on support bc the enemy Sombra is killing you and you refuse to switch off Zen lol. Don't play to say why it's not your fault you lost. Play to win. Communicate something useful. Provide a solution.

Another game I play often is payday 2, every time I play I run into either kids that are just trying to have a good time or people who have legitimately never played and have no idea what they are doing. Granted payday 2 is a game where you can carry your team even if it’s very difficult and you’re the last man standing. I always make sure I am kind and always try my best to help them learn and I will gladly play with someone for hours to help them gain cash and level up. I try to apply this mentality to overwatch, I have no idea who is on the other side of the screen and I have no idea if they understand how the game works the same as I do. I can’t be mad at someone who doesn’t understand and I can’t be mad at someone else because I made a mistake.

"This rank is trash, I deserve a better rank." was my mindset for so many years until I started actually watching Emongg's videos. This guy deserved this fate of being dunked on by Emongg, he needs to watch a lot more of your content to learn unless he wants to actually learn himself. But after hearing that stuff he said at the beginning I don't think he is capable of learning anything by himself, and he probably wont watch this whole video/ learn anything from it because he thinks it's on his teammates. But if they read this, I just want them to know that I was right there with him for a long time. And all it takes is changing his mindset and he can climb. Stop blaming other people, by focusing on all these things you think that these other players are doing you are hindering your own abilities. Play slower, and play with your team no matter how bad you think they are playing and take map control to make it harder for the enemy to actually do anything against your team. Map control doesn't mean run at them in the open, play a good corner that keeps them from being able to push up without having an off angle on them so you and your team can profit, and you'll climb, trust me. This game was 100% on YOU and your play, your team played fine, they didn't play perfect, but you can't expect that. And plus if they played perfectly you still would've probably lost to better ult economy.

Just shooting the random shots is enough to scare a lot of those low rank players into not making plays. And they like to roast anyone who switched to sombra to counter, so cass would be really good as long as they don't switch to reaper or junkrat. Plus Cass has a role that makes him reload so he will almost have the same amount of bullets as Ashe.

Honestly if the meta has shifted away from your hero pool these last 2 seasons it can be tough. The super tanks have changed how to play and who is decent. Ill use s76 as an example, he has basically become niche in masters+ now with the armor changes and how you can lose duels during ult with how much better other heroes ttk is. Also I started in season 3 and this is the strongest dive has been in my memory so I've definitely had to alter my playstyle quite a bit on all roles. So "its you" but a lot of variables in the game have changed

What I learned in DPS silver on CONSOLE is that there’s some people who play quite legendary level for the rank, and many who don’t deserve silver anything, and what happens when you get this is that REALLY frequently your team is really good on offense, but horrible on defense. And it can cost you so many games.

The biggest thing to remember in any rank, is that the other team also has the same rank of players. So saying your team is hot garbage, so is the other team. So, focus on your game play and how you can improve and don't worry about how bad your team is. They're not coming with you to your next game.

This is the thing - silver is indeed hot garbage, but it also includes you on the metric. Realizing a low rank is bad is common sense, but realizing YOU’RE hot garbage for being there takes some extra effort

I never really think aboyt how my teammates are playing, it takes too much effort to make sure I am positioned right and doing well, but the teammates here did absolutely fine. I have had SUCH worse teammates, so if this was his example, that is wild.

The aim alone tells me they deserve the rank. Half those shots are just 5 feet away from the nearest person. Like they just point in the general direction of enemies and don't actually aim half the time. So many fights that they made zero contribution to. This is the exact sort of player you just tell to go torb because at least then the turret will get hits.

I'm currently plat. One thing I noticed while climbing out of silver (I went from bronze) is that everyone's team is equally garbage.

I remember my last game in Silver before escaping, my Orisa and Sombra were hard flaming each other... for being "hardstuck Silver Trash" Not in voice mind. They stopped to type at each other the entire time. I sometimes think Overwatch is a psyop to see what I'm willing to believe is an actual human being.

I feel like a lot of people in lower ranks play differently because they think they are so much better than everyone else in the lobby and that leads to them doing dumb stuff, whereas if they respected their enemies and teammates more and tried to play normally, they could probably climb. Just something I've noticed a lot from these kinds of spectating videos. A lot of times its not so much your skill that is keeping you stuck, but your mindset that is leading you to play stupidly because you don't respect the other players in the lobby.

Hardstuck silver here. When I'm support, either tank isnt doing their job (or are just being gapped) or dps' aren't peeling their supports (and dont understand what LOS means). Its pretty hard to climb out of silver and gold. Its hardly ever a fair match

Poor aim, poor positioning, and a general lack of awareness aside, I think their main issue is confidence in their aim. They are positioning so far forward because they don't feel like they can hit shots when they are further away, as it's easier to hit shots closer to the target. They're constantly barrel-stuffing the enemy rather than sitting back in a safe position cause they'll feel useless missing every shot otherwise. But yeah, hard silver player, bordering on bronze in my opinion.

I wish we could see the stats at the end of the game to see how much kills and damage/heals these players ACTUALLY get in these games. How much value they bring to these "hot garbage" teams/ranks. Lol
