It is so precious that Zack still positive even everyone around him was dying, everything he believe in was crushed. Zack is always my favourite JRPG character. He had been through a lot and he deserved much better than this. Looking forwards for what comes next in Rebirth for Zack.

So about the bit in loveless about the one becomes the hero, one wanders the world and the other friend is imprisoned. The hero in that is Zack. This leads into the message CC has I really like. How Zack joined Shinra and became a Soldier just so he can become a hero like Sephiroth, but the truth was Sephiroth is just a media hero. At the start of the game he literally helps invade Yuffies country and is going around killing Wutai soldiers while cracking jokes and smilling because he believes in Shinras propaganda and once Zack finaly becomes Soldier 1st class he's lost. He's not sure what he's doing. This is where Zack succeds where Angeal gave up. Being a hero is not something you wear around. It's a burden and it's just a moment you embrace and pass it off to next one. When he saves Genesis and then protects Cloud, that's the moment Zack realizes his dream, passes it off to Cloud and goes out peacefully. This game is not perfect and is not the fully realized work they wanted to make and were not allowed to make at the time, but even still I love everything it does right and the heart it has.

I wanted to point out that the original director of Crisis Core is Hajime Tabata. He also directed Before Crisis, FF15, and FF Type-0. He left Square Enix a few years ago to start his own company and they decided to remove his name from the Crisis Core Reunion credits (you know how some companies work) and credit Tetsuya Nomura as creative director. Nomura was in charge of the character designs, but the rest was all the work of Tabata and his team. Crisis Core (the original) was the first action FF title and Before Crisis was the first original video game developed by Square Enix exclusively for mobile phones. There is an OVA called Last Order which is an alternate version of two flashbacks used for FF7. The flashbacks are narrated by Tseng. The ova received a lot of criticism due to the differences with the content of the original game and because of this they decided not to recreate certain scenes from the ova in Crisis Core. I recommend you to watch it if you are interested.

Congrats on finishing! Definitely keep in mind Zack and Cloud were in that test tube for 4 years. It also coincides with the time frame in FF7 where in the beginning Tifa and Cloud talk about how long it's been since they've seen each other. If anything that post scene that replays the beginning of FF7R should strung up more questions. It's sad what has happened to Zach, but I'm intrigued to see what exactly Square is planning because they are certainly making changes. Now, I'm not so certain if I want you to finish FF7. Maybe we should leave the surprises for the next games being released by Square. 🤷🏽

Congratulations on finishing the game! Yes, it's a tragic but beautiful story. Hojo experimented on Zack and Cloud for four years. Remember in the Remake when they discovered an underground facility and Cloud saw himself inside one of the tubes for a moment? Loveless is very interesting. I suggest you listen to it in order (kzbin.info/www/bejne/lWeloYt7d9xpbLs). It describes the story of the entire FF7 compilation. The characters that play the roles of prisoner, wanderer, and hero in the story are always changing depending on the game and the specific part of the game you are playing. This is also true for the books and the movie. Sephiroth, Genesis and Angeal were the same age and were the result of Hojo/Hollander's experiments. The difference is that Sephiroth was raised inside Shinra and was the image they used to promote SOLDIER since he was very young. Genesis and Angeal were raised by their parents and later joined Soldier. Sephiroth was already the big hero when they joined, but he was the same age as them. Sephiroth was always given credit for everything the other Soldier members did. Remember when Kunsel told Zack that they didn't even mention what Zack did in Wutai whilethey were talking a lot about Sephiroth's exploits? It has to do with the way former President Shinra earned the respect and approval of the public. He always acted the same way. He created a threat and then showed the solution to that threat. You saw some of that in the Remake when he used the terrorist faction of Avalanche to inspire fear in people and promote himself and his Company as the solution. I'm one of the people who suggested you play Crisis Core Reunion and the rest of the Remake before playing the original FF7. The Remake is doing a great job of introducing the characters and story to new players while keeping old ones coming up with all sorts of theories. Do what you want, but I really suggest you save FF7 for last :) I understand how you felt about the ending because I felt the same way. I played Crisis Core (PSP) before FF7 and the impact it has on you is completely different than starting the game knowing how it's going to end. The scene with Genesis and the beautiful Goddess (Minerva) has a lot of meaning for what could come in the next parts of the Remake if you know the whole story of the FF7 compilation. What is important for you to know now is that Minerva cured Genesis' degradation and sent him back for a reason. He appears once more at the end of Dirge of Cerberus and is not part of the original FF7. The two soldiers that took Genesis are Nero and Weiss (you met them in the Yuffie DLC). When he was a child, Genesis wanted Sephiroth, whom he look up to, to try the Banora apples. Zack had Sephiroth cells on him and succeeded Angeal's spirit. That's why he said that the dream came true when Zack ate the apple. Remember how Sephiroth rejected Genesis' apple at Nibelheim? Genesis (who after becoming a prisoner in Wutai discovered the truth about Shinra and Soldier and decided to fight it with an army of himself) and the man Zack found in the coffin must be the most misunderstood characters and a lot of it has to do with the changes they decided to make in the English dub that, in my opinion, hurt the characters and created confusion on the players. Tseng and Cissnei wanted to help Zack even after four years and everything that was going on with the Turks at the time (Before Crisis). I love Zack and Crisis Core/CC Reunion. Under The Apple Tree, Wandering Under The Moonlight, and The Price Of Freedom are what got me into this game and Final Fantasy. When I heard those songs I just had to play them and I did. As songs they are very simple, but sometimes the simplest songs/stories hit the hardest. Unfortunately, I didn't own a PSP at the time. I had been playing games since I was four, but mostly Nintendo and PC games. I had a Gameboy Advance at the time and wanted to try a FF game, so Final Fantasy IV was my introduction to this franchise and I can't explain the impact it had on me (that's right, a game that was made before I was born). Cecil is such a great main playable character and what to say about Kain... Both of them remain in my top ten characters of all the FF games I've played. So I understand you when you say how this old game can leave a scar on you. This is how art works. When my mother finally gifted me a PSP and a PS2, I experienced Crisis Core, FF X and FF Tactics. Those four games were my introduction to Final Fantasy and the beginning of my love for this franchise. Final Fantasy has great stories. I haven't played a FF game that I think is bad. They all have flaws, none of them is perfect, but they also have something that I enjoyed. Let's say there are FF games that I think are ok, others that I like, and some that I love. If you ever want to try other games in this franchise, I could give you a list of games to consider based on their story, character development, world building, ost, gameplay and combat. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. It was a good and enjoyable ride 😃

Zack really is a great character and the fact that he appears in the post-credits scene of the Intergrade DLC makes me excited to have more stories about him in Rebirth. I think everything indicates that it takes place in a different timeline and I strongly advise you not to finish the original FF 7 before finishing the remake, as there will be scenes that caused much more impact if seen for the first time in a quality like the remake.

I'm glad you enjoyed Crisis Core Reunion. It has some quirks and some questionable story and gameplay decisions, but overall it's a great game and I'm one of the people who enjoyed Crisis Core's story more than the original FF7. Cloud is a great FF icon just like Sephiroth, it's hard to talk about FF and not mention either of these two great characters, but while I like them I'm not blind to the fact that there are better characters even in their own game. There are many characters that were not properly developed in FF7 despite having an interesting backstory and some of them a significant role in the main story. The rest of the FF7 games, ovas and novels took care of that. Hope to see more of FF on your channel.

Congrats on finishing the game! We'll have to wait and see what happens with Zack in Rebirth but like everyone else I have my own theories and they don't include different timelines but the Lifestream. Regardless of whether you enjoyed Genesis character or not, we can all agree that Genesis's mother is...nicer... than Sephiroth's. I'm hoping to see more of Zack in Rebirth, but I'm also expecting a nod from Genesis, Cid and all his... courtesy... reveal, tons of content from Vincent, the introduction of Veld/Verdot into the story, and of course, more screen time for my precious boy and favorite character Cait Sith. If you really want to have a blind experience for Rebirth and the third part of the Remake, I would stay away from Ever Crisis, especially Before Crisis and Dirge of Cerberus. I recommend you check out more of Hajime Tabata's work as director on Final Fantasy. FFXV Royal Edition could be a good start. Crisis Core Reunion removed Tabata's name from the credits to differentiate it from the PSP game, but it could also be because Tabata left Square Enix to found his own company some years ago. Nomura's always been in charge of the character design and was credited as the creative director in Crisis Core Reunion. You are new to this franchise, that is why I am pointing out this information to you because Hajime Tabata and his team deserve credit for this old gem, Before Crisis and Last Order: Final Fantasy VII which I recommend you watch, it is an ova based on the ending of Crisis Core.

Zack and Aerith are just great characters, but a lot of their mysteries and stories are left untold in the original FF7, which is where Crisis core comes in. It's actually quite unique story telling because a lot of the plot and how the story is formed depends on this game, but in FF7 proper it's shrouded in mystery for a long time until a critical point in the game. Conversely, now that you have played crisis core, you must now play final fantasy 7 og and do the tifa adjacent choices. The true thrust of cloud as a main character and tifa as the heroine come out in the original game, which is not shown in other media outside of the original game but for which all that content is based on including advent children. Remake trilogy will probably be very different which is why it's imperative to go back and see what you missed in the original context. You won't be disappointed! 😁

@@MrMilesTV It's alright to finish the OG. You'll have a better understanding of the differences that will no doubt take place in the Remake trilogy. There will most likely be events that are more impactful in the Remakes if you know how the OG story went.
