I think his greatest achievement is his family. That is not downplaying his motorsport accomplishments at all but I know what is more difficult to keep on track.

Frosty has been in my top 5 drivers since he came into the V8 Supercars. I know I will miss seeing him drive but also, a great time for him to get out as well. Good Luck Champ.

I started watching Supercars around 15 years ago when Frosty, Courtney, Will Davison were all the rage, racing in the top cars, trying to overcome the might of the Vodafone-coloured VE Commodores of Triple Eight. Nick Percat made his debut back then. Now only a few of the people who raced back then are still on the grid and at the end of their career. I was the biggest Lowndes fan back then and although I've found new characters to follow as time passes, it isn't the same anymore. The time of Frosty, Will, Lowndes and Whincup will be the Supercars series I remember.

I can't recall if he ever drove a Holden. But even as a Holden fan, it was hard not to notice Winterbottom in his Fords over the years, an absolute powerhouse in his element. He's one of the last names in the sport that mean a lot to me, we'll miss ya Mark, don't stay too gone.

And that is why his career has been rubbish for years. He isn’t hard enough. Maybe if he through a few punches instead of cried, he might still be driving. He was content for years to drive around in tenth place and wave to the kids, but you need to get results. Stop crying Winterbottom. You have been paid handsomely for years doing the job most of us would do for free and you just didn’t do a good enough job for the last 10 or so years. Surely you must of seen it coming, as most of us thought you would have been out of a drive years before now.

@ never got the chance mate, but yeah, I was good enough. But Frosty did that almost 20 years ago and since then, has been happy enough to bang around and if he finishes tenth, he feels like he had a win.
