This is a mom who sees the incredible, outstanding vocal talent of her daughter while the daughter didn't realized it herself yet and passing the audition to Tia was the right push at the right time to step up of the shower into the limelight. While Tia's reaction seemed genuine, I still think its extremely likely that this was staged by the producers pulling out their usual tear jerking schtick. Someone probably gave the idea to the mother after hearing the daughter sing on a cell phone video the mother took.

I’m actually really happy they didn’t press the gold buzzer! Not because I don’t want her to win but because I think this voice deserves to be on many episodes to come and I think the practice that will lead up to the finale will do absolute wonders for her confidence outside of singing. Her performance though was mind blowing! Sing in the shower only? Girl you blew the whole place down and made me cry! The power of a mothers love! I wish they’d let her sing too lol. Tia was so shy, so nervous, and so afraid before singing. The moment she started singing a complete transformation, or better yet, a complete metamorphosis happened. She became confident, bold, and fearless. I have seen and enjoyed so many auditions on this channel. But I do not think that any of the previous ones has made as big an impact on me as this one has. Tia, stay strong. Be bold. You have an amazing voice. But even more important, you have an amazing attitude. May God bless you.

YES! Its like.. She kinda knew before this that she was good, but didnt really believe it.. A bit like: "every mom says their child is amazing".. Then, you can almost see during her audition that she has a kind of moment of clarity.. This must have been a MASSIVE confidence booster.. And for mom a BIG "I told you so!" moment..

She absolutely belted out that tune. I had to listen to it again and again. I had to go and seek out the original. I honestly had never heard the song before. She absolutely owned it. She made Whitney's (God rest her soul) version sound quite tame. I'm surprised I had never heard the song before, but it wasn't a hit apparently... it should have been. Tia should record her version and make it a mega hit like Whitney made Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" a tremendous success.
