Can you please react to 2024 Eurovision Portugal🇵🇹? Grito is Scream in English, and Grito not appear in the lyrics.. Grito is the scream in the climax of the song, when she liberates from the demons represented by the dancers. It is not commercial. A masterpiece. No one in the Eurovision compares to this.🇵🇹 "Ainda arde".. means "still burns", the flame that she still has inside of her. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ6VdZt6na9nY5osi=a8WRXKPz9TPV3QiO

When it comes to reactions I prefer songs that aren't as popular/aren't trending. (Although I understand from a youtuber's perspective riding the trends is the way to make money.) With that said Chester and Given Up deserves all of the attention. I honestly don't know if we'll ever have an artist like him again. He's truly one of a kind.

@@derpderpin1568 Dont rly think theres anybody that could sing in that range so comfortably. He isnt squeezing when doing those high notes, it's natural to him. Theres a lot of people that can go up into that range but none like Chester. Also theres a lot of people that can probs do the 17 second scream too, but none I have watched so far have managed to actually put the note underneath that scream. What Chester is doing is not a fry scream, there is a note and a pitch that is audible under there. So all in all I'm aware there are some really good singers out there, but I wouldnt mind saying Chester was pretty unique.

I struggle keeping a single tone for 17 seconds (and I need a lot of air in my lungs). Imagine this madlad screaming THIS after having only one or two seconds to breathe after the "MY MISERY" scream, and then he has only a few more seconds to breathe afterwards and keep on with the chorus. THOSE LUNGS GODDAMMIT, THOSE LUNGS!!!
@CottidaeSEA
@CottidaeSEA 9 ай бұрын
I used to have pretty crazy lung capacity, could hold a clear note for at least half a minute even multiple times in succession and I could exhale for almost two minutes if doing it in a controlled manner. This is still unthinkable to me. Chester was just extremely skilled. He got so much power out of his voice even when he kept things fairly low volume.

I have to say, I’ve watched your reaction to this song multiple times. It is so strange to understand so deeply what you said about feeling what someone else feels when Chester has that emotion. It is even crazier to take it a step further to feel like you’re understood by the singer, as well. I had to suppress everything I felt when he died because I was traveling with a customer, but I completely broke down when I arrived at the airport to my wife. He was such a legend in so many ways. As someone that has the same demons, I am shocked that I have survived without him when he has saved me so many times. I have to add … it is utterly devastating to think the those vocal chords, brain, and the rest, were silenced and burned in fire. We have to keep this all alive for eternity and be better to one another.

I think it's amazing to hear someone describe how they physically feel his voice, because I really do too. It strikes me just about between my shoulderblades, like it's trying to get in, and sometimes it's almost unpleasant. I think it's because, like you said, some of his sounds are so primal and emotional, it triggers a response. I also often wish I could hug him, because he awakens so much compassion in me. It really was something, how authentic his voice was ❤ Thank you for sharing your insights! It's deeply fascinating, and you do it in such a way as can be understood by people who aren't singers, or even musicians. Well done! This might seem an odd suggestion, but I'm really curious about what you'd think of some of Chester's earliest work. During his late teens/earliest twenties, he was in a band called Grey Daze. They released two albums, Wake Me and No Sun Today. They had a very grungy sound, and Chester's singing is quite different there. Sadly no live recordings with decent audio. The band remade many songs after Chester's passing, but for the most part, I prefer their old ones. If you'd be interested, I think it would be fascinating, but I get if it's not "popular enough" to get the views needed to make a video. Thank you once again, I hope to see more analysis of his vocals ❤

It really shows Chester's ability to switch back and forth between screaming and clean vocals. For Chester this was just a part in how he delt with his feelings in a healthier manner especially after going to rehab. For Chester the music is one of the things that helped him live as long as he did. Chester wore his heart on his sleeve and was very open with the fans about his struggles in life. He felt if he shared what he was dealing with then he maybe able to help someone else to not feel alone in their struggles with life. Chester had a bad childhood starting at the age of 7 years old.

Hi all! I wanted to share a folk-metal band from Ukraine called Geneza (ua: "Ґенеза"), that takes Ukrainian folk songs and makes them metal. They have some unique traditional instruments in some of their song as well, e.x. Sopilka (ua: "Сопілка"). For now, they only have 1 album Obrii (ua: "Обрій") and a single, they are all great. Happy listening!

Ian Curtis, another tragic loss who showed his feelings of anxiety, isolation and loss through the complex lyrics of his songs. The eternal from Joy Divisions' Closer album is cold, beautiful and just heart breaking.

Coming from a Joy Division fan, vocally, there's nothing much to analyze Ian Curtis. They can only be analyzed with regard to their overall music.

We need to see you reacting to the AOL Sessions live version of this song! He adds fry to the end of the high pitched scream (just like in the studio version) and also hits the 17 sec scream LIVE!!!!!

So sad..and painful to watch. Being a few generations ahead, we honestly didn't have music emoting self-pain. We had social anger, discomfort and pain...but not the inner pain one feels from depression or emotional scars. Even sadder when you think that he committed suicide not long after. 😢

Dax Riggs is also an amazing singer, its kind of a challenge to react to Acid Bath songs but Agents of Oblivion (Dax's band after AB) is definitely worth checking out as well
