The ignore them part is VERY powerful. I had to be ready, but I anticipated the reaction which varied between love bombing, and violent outbursts, threats and accusations. Then when you calmly continue to ignore them, it makes them CRAZY!

It's always worked best for me to become a gray rock if I have to be around them, and then for me to go no contact. If I try these tactics, and piss them off, it's way worse for me. I'm dealing with the kind of Ns who might back down in the moment, but they definitely keep score, and they will be continually trying to get me back in other ways, so now they're really going to wreck my reality. Also, they don't just get you back and then drop it because they've evened the score now. Nooooo... they keep getting me back, continuously -- forever. That's why I end up having to go no contact.

Rebecca, I realize that most of your experience is in family law, but have you considered expanding your practice to estate litigation? A lot of narcs bully their way into becoming estate trustees. Maybe we could collaborate on putting out some videos that help people deal with narc trustees, and gather some additional viewership for your channel that way. I have about 25 years of litigation experience, and some estate planning experience.

I went no contact 3 months ago with my estranged wife. I ignore everything the texts me, other than court required communication. I know she is absolutely getting upset and going nuts. I had to text her in regards to my kids. They get 2 hours per week with her on Friday nights. Our 16 yr old daughter was sick last week and I informed her that we needed to make different arrangements for her 2 hours. She ignored me. She thinks that’s going to bother me. Plus she ignored a necessary court ordered communication. That’s how I know she is pissed for me ignoring her. I’m waiting for some kind of negative retribution from her.

I tried number 2 but it just makes him come back with more anger and then it can potentially turn violent. Step 4 : If I leave, he follows, then the only way is to lock the door. With potentially more anger when I eventually open it again. Step 8 : it’s difficult to not react and stay happy if he’s insulting me for 2 days straight. I can do it now but it ends up with him being violent, like shout at me, push me on the floor, etc… and only then, he can come back to normal.

Leave. Don't tell anyone whom he also knows in your shared circle of contacts where you're moving to, change your number and completely block him. After a few weeks it's okay to contact your shared friends to let them know you're alright, but don't let them know - just yet - where you've moved to, just that you're doing well, and now living a better life without him. After a while you can have more contact with old shared friends as long as they know that you don't want him to know anything further about you, like your new location. And please watch out. He sounds dangerous.

This is hits the trifecta of abuse: emotional,psychological and physical but the one that is the most important and that is SPIRITUAL. It's not going to get better. You need to find a safe house, file a no contact/restraining order and be strong enough to prepare to enforce even the most little of violations. He will break it. That's when you have him locked up. Seriously, please get away while you still have pieces of you that aren't completely defeated. It isn't going to get easier as time goes by....I know from experience. Pray! Meditate! Exercise! I find some of this advice to be really troubling because in an abusive marriage provoking a rageful bully could be dangerous. You are in an abusive marriage. You need to get out. Reach out to friends who might not like him or have said you should get out. Now is the time to get help. Google women's shelters etc. Clear your search history for this video and any research you do. Escaping this marriage is your job now. You can do it.
